  1. Sorry I have to disagree with F2F.....i have ben banded about 8 months and I am almost never hungry....yes I have moments where I get those hubert feelings but I mostly have to remind myself to eat.....

As for the newbies repaying the same questions don't you remember being so new at this and scared and wondering what's going on...we as humans trend to think the worse in situations due to the horror stories floating around....let them ask.their questions...they have just as much as a right to ask their questions as you did...

I have found some of your posts to be a little "unkind" and I would never call you out on that do don't call out the new posters for tbeir honest questions......its not the over asked questions that herero me.away....i enjoy being sble to help others succeed...its the negative posters like you I get fed up with and keep me away.

  2. I slacked and did really bad over the holiday_ All the junk was piling up just at the time I was craving sweets- had cheesecake and Cookies and other assorted no-no's. I kept up with my exercise though. I started the new year with a RAGING abcess tooth that had to be pulled and the abcess drained yesterday so I havent had anything but Water for the past 3 days! I can barely open my mouth, i cant imagine chewing anything. I have to go weigh in this afternoon, i think I lost a few pounds despite my holiday decadance. Guess my swollen mouth is forcing me to reset and I will use it as a positive thing.

Good luck to us all for the New Year

I had MAJOR dental work done day #1 of my two week liquid diet...made it do much easier because by the time my mouth had healed enough for me to even think about a popscicle or Jello the cravings.had already passed. My surgeon joked that he's going to recommend that plan to his patients haha

As far as how I did.over the holidays I lost 18 lbs from thanksgiving to new years....not too bass if I say do myself. I an now 22 lbs from my doctors goal for my and 44 lvs away from my personal goal!

  3. You should really go to a dermatologist....today! They wil be able to do a small scrapping of the rash itself and be able to give you an idea if its an allergic reaction to something our if its something completely different. Winter is so hard on the skin and I have seen a ton of rages pop up over the winter months. Keep us posted!

(btw I am an esthetician and massage therapist and I work in a dermatologists office)

  4. I have gone from a 42F to a 38DD....

I am do happy to be smaller but sad at how aweful they look! At 42F though HUGE they were quite perky....now they look like deflated baloons :(

I do need to tell you all about the must amazing brad....its a brand callef Essential Body Wear (EBW) and they make my girls so perky and upright! Though a little pricy the bras are completely worth it! I got some cheap bras from victoria secret to get me through tull I reach goal....i cant wait to get back into some GOOD bras that actually support me!

  5. Before I had surgery I only told a few people I was having it done. After I was off work for three weeks and came back on a light-duty status, it was a bit harder to not tell people who asked after me. But when I came back to work substantially lighter than I was prior to surgery, they all commented on how much better I looked, and many asked if I'd had weight loss surgery. (I work at a hospital, so it's harder to hide stuff like that.) After trying to dodge things with some folks, I finally figured, "What the hell?" and I ended up telling anyone who asked about it what I had done. I don't care who knows. Everyone has been great about it, and some are openly jealous.

One side effect is that several people have asked me about the surgery, about insurance, and where they can learn more about the process. The ones most interested are people who seriously need to have surgery, so maybe by being honest I may actually help some folks out.

My Mom taught me to always tell the truth. That way you don't have to remember what you said. ;)

    Dave

My dr had an amazing referral system. If someone I refered to therm hours to a seminar I get $25 if they set up an appointmrnt with the surgeon and nutritionist I get another $25. If they have surgery I get $100. So I tell anyone and everyone! He is the to bariatric surgeon in the state if indiana so I an proud to call him my dr. I jusy want everyone to feel as great as I feel now!

  6. Cali...I agree regarding the chiro, but the comment about not wanting to tell anyone makes you worry that people are afraid they will fail...well that's just not fair.

I don't tell, not because I'm ashamed, but I just don't want to hear anyone else's opinion on it and risk peope who would either be verbally unsupportive or try to sabotage me.

I didnt tell very many people beforehand because I didn't want opinions either....but afterwards I told evryone because I figured what's done us done and if people want to give me their negative opinion I can and will set them straight! And do far I have had TWO people out of hundreds have a negative response (the one guy list 100+ lbs on his own and he told me I was being lazy and taking the easy way out...i told him that weight loss is weight loss and he should be happy that I an now healthy like him. The other guy I kust straight up said "if I wanted your opinion about what I should do with MY body I would have asked...." That shut him up fast) anyways I tell you this to encourage you to not be afraid to tell....for me it kind of holds me accountable. And I get daily questions about weight loss advice. We live in an obese nation....be proud that you have taken the step to not be a statistic anymore! :)

  7. Don't worry about the right gain...its from asl the fluids they pump you with and the narcotics. As far as the amt of calories I wad taking in about 500 or do the weeks I was on Clear Liquids and full liquids. You wil start loading again soon enough....this I'd a time to heal! As far as the stomach being the same size....every one is different on how the stomach reacts to getting banded. I felt restriction right from the beginning....i only have about 3ccs in my 10cc band. Yiu also have selling around the band so it will make you feel more restriction.

Goodluck! You can pm me if you have any more questions!

  8. For the first time in a long time my list of new years resolutions don't include "lose weight"......what a strange feeling! Yeah I am still 25lbs from goal but that is not going to be my focus or sress of 2011.....my resolution is to learn to love the new me....abd maybe gain a few lbs towards the end of the new year...a few lbs of baby weight ;)

  9. Dont fret! :) I have a 10 cc bad. I have had two fills bith being .50cc's and lost three lbs a week and felt great! I.could eat all my healthy foods without any episodes. Well then one day I decided I wanted to be tighter...so I went in and the doc reluctantly gave me another .75 cc and felt AWEFUL!!!! I PB'd slmost daily and had a hard time getting asl the nutrients I needed and just had an overall feeling of ickiness!so I went in two weeks later and got .50 taken out. So you do not eant to be too tight...it is miserable! So here I am surgery may 20th and I have gone from 255 to 185....and I love that my band us not horribly tight

  10. Ok...as an avid zumba attender I need to tell you...GO TO THE CLASS! It is the most fun workout you will have.....so take the real plunge and go to the class at your gym. No omb ge wil be paying attention at how good or bad you are doing.

T that bet young said...i have the videos and the wii game....while fun and all I get the best woorkout in the classroom...and the classroom is way more fun!

and just tlet you know it reall worksyour waist-hip-butt area. Not so much abs. Thats what I would buy for at home ifi were you.i have three ab videos less than 20 min each and I do those at home at night after im at the gym. Imgona check up on yyouabd see if you went to a class! :)

  11. Yogurt... OMG I hated that stuff. My dietician suggested Yoplait delights. They come in a 4 pack. The lemon parfait is delish, I also like the carmel parfait. If I can eat this yogurt anyone can!!! You should try it if you haven't. From there I tried many different yogurts, most of them i can't even gag down however Yoplait Light Thick and Creamy is really good too, I LOVE the key lime and the strawberry. Both these yogurts are more like pudding texture than that "milk gone bad" thing! If you haven't tried them, you really should because I didn't think I would ever be able to eat yogurt, now I eat it every morning and it is my go to snack if I really need something! Good Luck to you!

Oh I love yogurt....but my band doesnt. After I eat it I am so uncomfortable....almost feels like its stuck.....i can eat oatmeal just fine but yogurt is like glue in my tbroat/band area

  12. Ok. I have two separate isues....

The first being my issues with yogurt....all yogurt. I cannot get it down! It just did there making me sooooo uncomfortable. Anyone else have issues with yogurt? I have the perfect restriction....and love my band...i just wish I could have yogury for Breakfast or a snack if needed....

Secondly I have been getting kidney stones like crazy! Had my third one in two months this weekend.....saw a uroligist and he said that people who lose weight can get them more often....also high Protein diets can contribute to them too....the thing that stumped the dr wad that I drink a ton of Water (more than 70 oz a day) and hVe no pop at all! Anyone else struggle with this?

Love my band! Down 70 lbs since may :)

  13. I'm a massage therapist and I have seen the dramatic ways chiropractic care can work! when you were heavier what could have been going on is the extra weight or fat was holding your spine in a way that was either incorrect and your body got used to it....so now your spine is positioned correctly and you need to get adjustments toget your body to understand. another reason it could be hurting is you injured it when you were heavy but the excess fat kept your spine aligned and now that that fat is gone, your spine no longer has that support.

find a chirppractor who has a massage therapist on staff. my insurance covers an hour massage if I get an adjustment before or after. hope you get to feeling better soon!!!
