  1. thanks migman. i am feeling great! thank you on the complement. i always hated hearing it because i always heard the unspoken "but the rest of you isn't so great" now...i feel like i look great all over (is it OK if i sound a little conceded?...haha) hope you're doing well!

  2. hey betsy. I need some advice and thought you would be the perfect person to give it! :) i have lost 60 lbs....easily. i havent counted calories or really been on a 'diet' well i have been at 197 for almost two weeks now....working out one to two hours almost every day, doing different exercises every day. so i am thinking it is what and how i am eating...it is time to go on a diet (or a sorta diet...) anwyas i know you do low carb and so i was hoping you could give me some ideas....i did atkins once and last a whole two weeks i got so very bored with it....so do you have any suggestions and foods you love? thanks! you are such an inspiration :)

  3. hi gabbi.

i hope your workouts this week have been good! :) it has been the most important thing in the way of losing weight. I do an hour of cardio like zumba or spin class and then a half our or so of weight lifting. Three days a week i also work out another hour of cardio in the evening. so three days a week is 2 hours of cario and 30 min of weight lifting....then the other days instead of cardio i do core work like pilates or i do yoga. it def has taken a commitment, but to me it is SO very important!!

good luck! and if you need anything or have any questions let me know!

  4. hi! I'm answering your question about restriction. everyone is different so there is no rule book on it....but for me perfect restriction is being able to eat ALMOST anything (cant do sandwiches...but if I wanted I could do toast or something like that) I eat about 1/2 c to 3/4 c of food and am satisfied for about five hours. I have been filled really tight and did not like that at all! I have lost 65 lbs since may and have 30 more till goal!! :) good luck! and don't get discouraged....the green zone will find you!

  5. i noticed on your ticker at the bottom of your posts that you have your body fat percentage....how do you go about figuring that out. i am curious because i've always been heavier on the scal then most people who wear clothes the size i do...i have a really athletic build and tend to build muscle easily...so just curious. thanks

  6. Hi paula. Glad to hear you're staying on track and working out! the loss has slowed down for me a bit too..but thats to be expected considering i work out five days a week (cardio and weight training)....i'm not getting too discouraged though, cuz it seems like my pants are bigger and bigger every week! haha good luck on your fill this week. I hope you get some restriction! The restriction from my last fill lasted about a week...so i am ready for my next fill (two more weeks! yaya!)

have a great fourth of july!! :)

  7. hi paula! so good to hear from you. things are going ok. had my first fill two weeks ago and i'm ready for the next! i felt great restricion for about three days...then no more! the scale has stopped moving as fast :( but i realize i am working out more and doing a lot strength training, so i know that is affecting the number. as far as eating goes, i have great days at a time...then i indulge a little...my weakness? smores!! and it never fails, every bonfire we go to they are present...haha so i make one...cut it in half and just eat half...and then work a little harder in the gym the next day :) cant live forever with out the marshmallow and chocolate...haha I am down a total of 37 lbs...so about 55 more till goal! good luck at your fill this week! my next one is on the 14th...oh it cannot come soon enough! haha

  8. hi paula!

just hang in there! i was noticing the appetite growing more and more. it def takes will power to stay on track. just make sure you pre-measure your food before you go to work for lunch. i carry a TBS with me so when i'm out i know what 2TBS of food is instead of guessing. i had my first fill on wed and man did i feel the restriction! i also started my period that night and man, did that not feel good! everything on this site about your menstrul cycle and a tight band is def true...i did liquids for two and a half days cuz nothing felt good. i am now 4 days out from my fill and eating normal foods.

you said you are 17 down from surgery, what is your total weight loss? are you working out?

good luck and keep me posted on your progress!!!

  9. hello friends! i got my approved and surgery is actually two weeks from today!! i started my pre-op diet yesterday....besides wanting to eat my arm off, i'm doing great! i've been keeping busy and experimenting with shake falvors...im using my new obsession with finding tasty alternatives to my shakes to take my mind of off the desire to bake (i'm a baker....baaad thing to be when you want to lose weight haha)

good luck! and thanks so much for the advice!!!

  10. I am so inspired by your journey! I am getting banded one month from today! I am so excited and hope for the same success you've had! hope you're healing well from your PS :) best wishes!

  11. hi amy! I saw your post about questions and you mentioned a skin tag. i'm an esthetican who worked @ a derm office for years! they are easily and pinlessly clipped off...or if that makes you a little nervous you can tie a piece of string very tightly around the base of it. clip the ends of the string short so you don't have string flying in the wind...haha what this does is kill the blood supply and afte a few weeks it will fall off ! :)good luck tomorrow!

  12. congratulations to you too as well! we will be on this journey at close to the same time. i can't wait to see and hear your progress! i dont have a surgery date yet...i am getting so anxious to be able to write it on my caleneder :) good luck! :)
