    Tomorrow is the day!!!!

Well, I am banded! I did it...and i am so happy and 100% confident in my decison... My surgery was about 45 minutes, i was in recovery for aabout 30 minutes and up in my room resting by three o'clock. i slept for about three hours...then got up and visited with my amazing support system. Walked the halls a few times and then watched the most intense episode of grey's anatomy ever! and then got no sleep at all last night... i'm a little sore today...and a little tired...but feeling so good about my decision... i cannot believe it is the day after my surgery!
  6. I cannot believe that tomorrow is the big day (may 20th)....i'm mildly freaking out...haha I won't lie...i've sorta freaked myself out a little bit today...and I have to wait till 11:30 to even go to the hospital! ahhh... hope all you other 5/20 bandsters have an amazing day!!!
  7. YOU CAN DO IT!!! it is hard...and not fun at all...but the end result is so worth it! just keep focused on the goal...and the two we:thumbup:eks will fly by!

    coffee?

I know the main reason for giving up the caffeine is becasue its an appetite stimulant...so during the pre-op diet that's the last thing you need! haha the caffeine wasn't too hard to give up, it was the diet coke! its been two weeks, and I still crave one....oh well I'm getting banded in three days so its totally worth it!

I do have a question though....i have NEVER been this tired in my life! anyone else struggling with exhaustion?? iall I did yesterday was fold and put away 6 loads of laundry....and then slept for like 11 hours! this is crazy.... Psych Evaluation

  14. hello all! today is day two of my 2 week pre-op diet...and i really really want to bake something...and i'm already bored with my two flavors of Protein shakes (vanilla and strawberry) i am using Bariatric Advantage from the doctor... anyway...i wanted to share my shake recipe with all of you on the pre op...i didnt even think about what i was drinking... RECIPE: I found caffeine free chai tea bags at the grocery (0 calories, 0 sugar) i brewed a very strong cup of chai tea and cooled it with eight ice cubes. I then put 2 scoop of my vanilla Protein Shake powder and two scoops of the unflavored protein. (makes a double batch, because of all the ice cubes...so i doubled up on the protein...) I then blended it all together in a blender with about a tsp of cinnamon. This made two 8 oz servings of the protein shake...and so i put the other cup in the freezer for later. I served with a dash of cinnamon on top... i tell you, tastes just like its from starbucks! (love chai tea lattes!) i will share some more of my shake recipes...this is actually fun! all day at work i was trying to figure out what kind of shake i was going to make when i got home! If anyone else has some yummy recipes lets share!
  15. hello friends! i got my approved and surgery is actually two weeks from today!! i started my pre-op diet yesterday....besides wanting to eat my arm off, i'm doing great! i've been keeping busy and experimenting with shake falvors...im using my new obsession with finding tasty alternatives to my shakes to take my mind of off the desire to bake (i'm a baker....baaad thing to be when you want to lose weight haha)

good luck! and thanks so much for the advice!!!

  16. So i started my pre-op diet today...which consists of 6 protein shakes, sugar free jello, sugar free popscicles, and broth. Also 100 oz of water or so a day! i was super nervous about today...thinking today would be the worse day ever with being hungry.. well had to go to the dentist this morning to get what i thought would be a root canal...and ended up having to get the whole tooth extracted!!! :bored:...i am in SO much pain! so eating is not even anything i want to do... so i guess it all worked out in the end! not really hungry and probably wont get all six shakes in! and i've lost two lbs...just today...haha hope all my other may bandsters are doing well :glare:

    shorts

I just have to throw this out there... I CANNOT WAIT TO WEAR SHORTS!!!! for so many summers I have sweated to death in the dead heat of summer because I refused to wear shorts...but bo this summer.... I should be getting my surgery date any day now so hopefully by august and september I will let the legs go free! (what brought this on? window shopping at old navy and all the cute spring clothes) have a fantastic day friends!
  25. hi amy! I saw your post about questions and you mentioned a skin tag. i'm an esthetican who worked @ a derm office for years! they are easily and pinlessly clipped off...or if that makes you a little nervous you can tie a piece of string very tightly around the base of it. clip the ends of the string short so you don't have string flying in the wind...haha what this does is kill the blood supply and afte a few weeks it will fall off ! :)good luck tomorrow!
