  1. sorry been a long time since I have visited lapband site. I too am struggleing with my weight loss since I have been banded 6 years ago. I have gained back around 28 lbs. I was not excersing for around a month but have gotton back on track. My band had to loosened because I was regertating at night. since loosening the band I am hungry all the time. I have a lot of stress in my life right now so I am thinking the stress caused my band to get too tight. Is this possible? Would love to have someone support me to get on right track. Help!

  2. If you are having lapband surgery it is a piece of cake. I too was very scared but it wasn't as bad as I thought. Yes I had to stay just over night but it wasn't that bad. After your IV is started the nurse will give you something to relax you. You will be taken to a holding area where you stay until the Dr is ready for you and then they will take you to the surgery room. I remember scooting over onto the surgery table but I didn't care. Thats where the medicine they give you through your IV comes in handy. Next thing you know you will be waking up and it is all over. Other than the nurses drawing your blood after a few hours that is the worst or maybe having my finger pricked to check my sugar that is a little uncomfortable. You will need to walk walk walk after surgery to get rid of the gas pains from having surgery which is where they blow your abdomen up with gas so the dr can get in there to do the surgery. You will be fine and believe me I love my band. I have lost 93lbs since my surgery Oct 3 2007. Hang in there and keep in touch. There are plenty of people to support you on this site. Good Luck

  3. I am a Hurley Bandster. I was banded on Oct 3, o7. Dr. Wagoner was my surgeon and he is the greatest. Dr Farhan is also the greatest. I love going to the Flint Bariatric Center. I can't say enough. Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.

  4. Has anyone experienced having more band restriction when under a lot of stress? I haven't had a fill in 2 months but lately my band gets tighter when I experience a lot of stress. Anyone ever have this happen? It seems like when my stress level is down I have no problem. But when I have a bad day at work with lots of stress, I can't get anything to go down. Has anyone experienced this problem?

  5. I had my last fill on april 28. I definetly can tell the band is tight. At times I get indigestion and discomfort but not all of the time. I am trying to decide if it is a case of what I am eating isn't agreeing with the band, or that i have ate too fast or maybe the band is a little too tight. It has been 4 weeks since my fill so I would think the band is just doing its job. has anyone had a rough time with fills? this is my 3rd fill and i had no problems with the first 2. any ideas for me?

  6. The pain was in my chest and it felt like the worse indigestion I have ever had. I walked around and rubbed my chest and I finally vomited a little up. The pain lasted about 5 minutes or so. I hope I never have to experience that again. I have ate slower today and not too much. I am fine now. Thanks for your reply. It helps to know I have someone to support me! Marcy

  7. I need some input: Last night I had an attack after eating baked fish and a baked potato. I don't know if I was eating too fast or ate too much. I was banded oct 3, 07. The pain was horrible along with I tried to vomit. Is this normal band behavior? I have had 3 fills so far.

  8. hey everyone, I was banded on Oct 3 and yes I am going through the depressions. I have lost 38 lbs since I started the preop diet until now 6 weeks out. At times my cravings return but I try to get busier and soon it goes away. My first fill is Nov 13 and I am very nervous. I need support to get through my fill. Can use recipe ideas also. I love my band anyway.

  9. My doctor prefers staples to close after surgery. I had a total of 12 staples . The largest incision had 6 staples and it hurt a little when the nurse removed them. The next incision above my waist over from the port incision, had 3 staples and the last 3 incisions only had 1 staple in each one. Nothing to worry about as it feels great to get the staples out.

  10. Hi everyone. Just went for my 2 week post op appointment today and got my staples taken out. I had lapband surgery oct 3. i was so surprised to hear I have lost 28 lbs from 4 weeks of liquids. I now get to go to the mushies stage. I am afraid to try mushies as I dont want to gain anything back. Any ideas for me? I have my first fill on Nov13. I would love to hear from other oct bandsters!:clap2:
