  1. Congrats on your weightloss!
  2. Welcome! I'm getting banded next Monday. Good luck on your journey. You'll find a lot of helpful people here. So if you ever have any questions, ask away.
  3. I know the feeling! I'm REALLY thinking I can do this on my own, but also thinking how much can I take before I say forget it and go back to my old ways. Surgery is next Monday so I've got to make up my mind.
  4. I'm on day 3 and i've lost 10lbs  Makes me wonder if I can do this weightloss thing on my own. Like others said, you may be retaining liquids, or your body is shocked at the sudden change and is holding onto everything. Give it a few days, you'll be losing in no time.
  5. I'll be getting banded May 10!! I'm excited. Mscafe23 we'll be at the same hospital! (unfortunately.) Dr. Singh is doing my surgery. Good luck to you
  6. I'll be taking a multivitamin, calcium citrate, b-12, and probably a COQ-10 pill (my own choice.) My dietician recommended that I take the first 3 vitamins for the rest of my life. 4-6 months after surgery I can switch to taking capsules instead of chewables.
  7. I'm 19 and I should be banded here pretty soon. I'm in the process of setting up my date! You can message me if you'd like my AIM screen name, otherwise feel free to just talk to me through here :scared2:
  8. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f17/ticker-tutorial-pictures-41782/ Maybe that will help you?
  9. Good luck! Soon you'll be back on stage with self-esteem through the roof
  10. I bought Any Whey to add to my food. I think you are adding too much. You can't put a whole scoop of protein in something and expect the texture/taste not to change. My dietician told me to measure out the needed scoops (2-3 if you use Any Whey) into a separate container and add little sprinkles here and there. Adding too much will make the food pretty thick.
  11. Congrats and good luck!! Who banded you? I live in MD too and I should have my surgery pretty soon.
  12. Pick me pick me! I sent you a message. Thanks for being so caring!
  13. You should follow the instructions that your Dr. gave you not someone elses. And congrats lilhoot!!

  16. Hi Caitlin! I'm 19 (will be 20 in January) and I'm in the process of getting my band as well! I'm almost done all of the pre-op stuff (psych. eval, meet with nutritionist, etc) and hopefully I'll be banned by the end of this month or early May  Good luck on your journey and if you ever need to talk or need some help you can always message me

  18. Congrats and good luck!
  19. Congrats!! I just started my journey. I'm nervous now and haven't even met my doctor! Don't go into surgery with a negative approach. While you may have failed in the past, you won't this time :Banane20: There are A LOT of resources to help you, especially here. Keep your head up and your mind positive and you'll do great.:Banane20:
  20. Congrats!! I wish my surgery was tomorrow :tongue_smilie:Hopefully everything goes well for you  and thanks for sending luck my way.
  21. Thanks jerseygirl for the warm welcome:) I definitely will keep everyone updated. I'm plenty excited but scared at the same time.
  22. Hi all! I've been lurking for a few weeks and today I finally had the guts to call a doctor to make the first step and then post on here of course ! I have a bariatric seminar held by Dr. Singh on 4/14! I'm so excited but it's going to be a long wait because I'm plenty impatient. I've read a lot of the stories here and I hope I can be another success story! I'm only 19, but I've been overweight since the middle of middle school. When my parents divorced I really just blew up. My eating habits have always just been off. Recently with a full-time job I've been just waiting until I get home to eat, so no Breakfast or lunch, which I know is horrible. With my dad passing less than a month ago, I sort of had the final push I needed to get this process started. He had always wanted to help me get thin again, so his passing has really given me that extra oomph to go for it. I can't wait!!
  23. Voted as well. Best of luck to you! Will vote again when I get home.
