  1. I have no fill in my band and have lost 115lbs total; have 5lbs+ to go. I do have restriction (I feel full with a cup or a little more of food) but I can eat pretty much anything. Sometimes bread gives me a hard time if I don't chew well, otherwise I have restriction, but not nearly as much as most people here do. I think it's possible and a good idea, IMO. Some will probably disagree but for me my journey has been 90% me, 10% the band. Yes it keeps me full but I chose to workout for an hour each day and I chose to continue to count my calories, weigh all of my food, etc. Hope that helps and good luck!
  2. I have a lot of jeans in size 20s. XXL shirts as well. PM me.
  3. That's common; just wait it out. If you feel you can eat more, do so. PB has a lot of calories which may help.
  4. I was very strict with myself in the beginning, I think it's part of what fueled my success. I always held myself accountable, still do but nowadays I am pretty lax; eat what I want in moderation, no more low carbing, etc etc. Couldn't be happier.
  5. You're probably feeling your port.
  6. Good luck! Hopefully this time around proves to be a success for you.
  7. 1. Never heard of the no coffee thing -- I know plenty of bandsters here drink it. I'm a tea person however. 2. The carbination in soda can be problematic for some. Never been a soda fan, again I know bandsters who have the occassional diet soda. 3. Lettuce is fibrous and can get stuck if you aren't careful, but this depends on your fill/restriction level. I eat salads throughout the week with no problem, both iceberg and romaine lettuce work fine for me. 4. There is no list. With the band and certain foods it really is YMMV. I can eat anything because I like a loose band; others keep a tight band and can't eat bread, rice, Pasta, etc.
  8. 3 eggs 90g peanut flour 60g whole wheat flour 56g greek yogurt (I used chobani FF, any will work probably) 60g brown sugar (I used Ideal, it's a brown sugar substitute) 1 tsp baking soda 200g banana, mashed stevia to taste 1 scoop banana Protein powder (not needed; add more banana or flour if you don't have powder) vanilla/banana extract to taste Baked mine in 6 mini-loaf pans for 20 minutes or so. Made enough to last me all week; will be using pumpkin next weekend.
  9. I bounced between 130-131lbs for the longest time, probably a month or so. My cure has been to drop my calories by 50-100 per day and by adding cardio back in. So instead of 1750 calories plus, I now aim for 1600-1700 max, with more cardio throughout the week. Doing this last week I finally broke the 130.2-130.6 stage I was stuck in; hit 130 today. If you're dropping inches I wouldn't be worried. If you're doing 2 hours of working out, I'd definitely say 900 is too low. Maybe stick to a higher range and see what happens.
  10. I make the Protein PB bread myself
  11. I've heard about these! Seen good reviews and bad. Which flavors do you like best?
  12. I was fat because I ate too much and didn't move enough; simple. Has nothing to do with eating McDonalds or eating white bread.
  13. That sounds good! Probably would be tasty with mozzarella cheese on top.
  14. I have my card but I never used it. After looking at the kid's menus at most restaurants I realized there's rarely anything on it that'd I'd want to eat. I just get a normal meal and portion it out. Never hurts to have another meal for the next day!
  15. I eat ice cream daily..and Chick fil A and plenty of other "taboo" foods; there's NOTHING wrong with them, unless you of course can't keep it to a moderate portion, which is the problem with most people (myself included) today. It's called fit it into your calories and move on. While most of the food I eat is Protein, veggies, and fruit, nothing says I cannot eat ice cream at the end of the day.
  16. 1. What's so wrong with white flour and white sugar? lol. The only different between a whole grain/wheat flour is the Fiber content in most cases. If anything the macronutrient profile differs very slightly. 2. Mm processed food. 3. But I like Chick fil A. 4. See #3. In the end, I think these "rules" are helpful to people who aren't the most aware of what they're eating. We all got the band for portion purposes (or so I think most people did) and in my case/lifestyle/diet, I can eat white flour, sugar, processed food, and fast food..in moderation. I think that rule goes for anyone; fat, obese, skinny, underweight, or the average sized person. Moderation moderation moderation. There's no one size fits all diet, thank god. I wish I'd have known that when I was first banded. While cutting out carbs helped me lose most of my weight, I now know that carbs didn't make me fat; I made me fat, my lifestyle made me fat. If I knew I could lose weight and eat ice cream, Cookies, fast food, etc. etc then I think my journey would have been even easier. Oh well. Good "rules" but I don't think they need to be long term rules at all.
  17. Breakfast: Omelette w/ turkey bacon, cheddar cheese, and broccoli with strawberriesSnack: Protein peanut banana bread w/ PB (deeeeelish) Lunch: salad w/ chicken, carrots, broccoli, craisins, and ranch dressing Snack: Protein Bar Dinner: Stirfry w/ turkey meat, cabbage, carrots, broccoli and a peanut satay sauce. And a few tastes of red velvet ice cream, yum! Let's not talk about today's menu..
  18. Measure yourself, maybe you're losing inches. Sadly weight-loss isn't always linear/constant. It's up and down all the time. Keep your head up!
  19. First 6 weeks are about healing. Stay off the scale; you're not going to drop lbs like that. You didn't get fat overnight, did you? The average loss with the band is 1-2lbs a week; you're ahead of the curve.
  20. There is really no way to stop loose skin; it all comes down to your genetics, age, how long you've been overweight, how overweight you are, etc etc. I'm 20, active as ever, and I have flabby skin in some places. Weightlifting has helped, but in the end I expected it. I was 120lbs overweight, my skin was/is never going to be perfect. In the end you'll have to decide what's a better decision. Loose skin that can be removed if need be or continuing to be overweight. It was an easy decision, for me.
  21. While that may be true, in the end a fat is still a fat, carb is still a carb. I said nothing about digestion, glucose, etc etc etc. A simple carb and a complex carb is still a carb. My body isn't screaming and yelling "Hey reverie you just ate "simple carbs," get ready to pack on the pounds!"Glucose levels have very little to do with weight-loss. Just like the average person pays no mind to GI anymore, or at least shouldn't. While I agree that some fats are "better" than others, they're all still fats. Carb is a carb; Fat is a fat. end of. We can agree to disagree.
  22. Could still be gas pains from surgery. Call your surgeon if youre worried.
  23. Doubt you'll be up on the scale. If you are it's not a true gain. You may be up from the carbs/salt, otherwise I wouldn't sweat it. Pick yourself up and move on. One "bad" day won't cause you to pack on 10lbs. PS. Sounds like the foods you choose to snack on weren't bad choices at all!
