  1. I can relate...I had the money made the choice called the doc saw him two days later and scheduled surgery for three weeks later...lightening fast, but hey when I think back on it....I've really been making this choice for years...through failed diets, exploring wls and so on. I'm with ya...my surgery is Friday and I'm terrified
  2. BROOKSIEEEE I TOO ADOPTED MY BOY How weird...I adopted my son from birth and it's the best choice I ever made. Now getting this surgery to have more quality life with him is second best I gotta keep forging ahead despite the fear that paralyzes me...it's in God's hands. You're an inspiration hon.
  3. I'm on the 10th hon...and I too am scared...more like terrified even, but I'm trying to visualize the other side and remember that my life is and has always been in God's hands...my outcome was predetermined.
  4. Super size here having surgery on the 10th...you're all an inspiration...maybe I have the same delightful journey.
  5. Are we talking using these oils immediately after surgery or some time period later? I bought the stuff just trying to determine when to start using?
  6. I'm so proud of you brooksie you're doing great and thanks for keeping us posted. I was sitting here at the moment before I opened that and said to myself I'm gonna dig my heels in and not do this...cause I'm scared...I see from you and so many others here I can make it through
  7. I love this idea and have thought long term about this...once I get through and my life is changed...giving someone else this gift....so all these have been wonderful insights. I would of course talk to my attorney prior. However, one suggestion I would like to make that I saw on this posting...is I concur with Barbara I think it was. Gift 1/2 make them pay the other 1/2 so you can see their commitment to the process as well. Whatever you do, you'll be blessed by such generosity.
  8. Kym the gas is most likely the the gas put in for surgery which gas x does not treat...my surgeon said walk 5 minutes every hour to dissipate it...i hear otherwise it can take up to six months...move move move
  9. I think 100 is a very good number...30 or less and I'm saying no thanks...Good luck
  10. Yeah Angela good luck hon...see ya on the flip side be well.
  11. You'll do great...I'm on day 9 of liquid...just know for you that you've got a shorter time and you'll be done with that part quick...take care friend and see ya on the other side...I go Friday so prolly willtalk to you after I'm back online
  12. Dr. Trace Curry in Cincinnati at Deaconess has financing I believe...not to mention he's done more than anyone east of the Missisippee...www.thebanddoctor.com.
  13. I was talking to an hospital person tonight and she said the worst thing you will feel is the pain in your shoulder back area where they put the gas in...follow the advice given over and over here walk walk walk at least 5 minutes every awake hour...this allows the body's tissue to reabsord the extra air
  14. I'm self pay so from surgery consult to surgery it's been a short 3 1/2 weeks
  15. Self pay here too...and worth every dime to get my life back
  16. Welcome Mark...great to have you here!
  17. I don't have any words of widsom I am Friday and am feeling the same way far more anxious than worried...I guess maybe look at before and after pictures then visualize yourself ... I think I also plan to make a list of the things I want that I haven't been able to have...crossing legs, riding rollercoasters, etc..God be with you
  18. Welcome and congratulations....please pop in on the November Bandsters thread
  19. Special wishes and prayers to everyone being banded this week. May God Bless each of you with safe journeys. Thanks for all the love and support ... particularly Karen and Beversman...be well friends...I'll talk to you plenty before Friday but to those early in the week...my sincerest thoughts
  20. Dr. Curry is doing this surgery for me next Friday. I'm apprehensive too...guess it's part of the process.
  21. When I read the FDA reports and statistics and the new study that is set to come out that was provided to me by Dr. Simpson in AZ all deaths related to surgery were due to doctors who had done 20 or less...that speaks to experience to me.
  22. Thanks Violet I agree what can be done to make car manufacturers make the seatbelts bigger of offer free with the car some sort of extender? I'm thinking on this and I too will come up with a way to try and take this higher. Paladin, yes it is true I'm afraid. I often saw Father at Argosy so was not surprised he was coming home late...I have to say I am shocked he was drunk, but do not hold this against him. He gave so much to so many and never was drunk in front of me or my son or at church. I guess to me what he did in his private life was his own business. It's truly a shame that they had to print that thought just t o add to drama. NOTICE. STILL NOONE HAS DISCOVERED THE SEATBELT DIDN'T FIT~
  23. We heard from any of our yesterday bandsters?
  24. I think, but am not positive, so I wanted to share this. I'm in Dayton Ohio I had scheduled with the Cinci Weight Loss Center too in Union Center. Once I started reading testimonials on the website I noticed all the testimonials were from Washington. So I called back and asked and a new guy would be doing my surgery not the guy who has done most for this program. Do you know how many surgeries this guy has done. In this particular procedure, I understand that experience is essential to a successful outcome...most of the mortalities from the surgery is linked to surgeons who have low numbers. I am having Dr. Trace Curry www.thebanddoctor.com do mine and he has done the most of these east of the Misssisippi...just thought for such a big thing you might want to check him out as well as he is in your area.
  25. I'm having surgery on the 10th...same thing..some folks support some don't. But I have to remember I want to live not just exist.
