  1. ready, i am having surgery on the 29th and share your anxiety (im having plastics after losing 150 lbs)... i keep hearing that its normal, but dang its scary... specailly those wavers you have to sign! just keep healthy and i'll see you in bandland. good luck tomorrow.
  2. crystal, OMG, i didnt realize it was this bad... so so sorry ... it does get better... get up and walk that gas away.
  3. grrr... just found out, my MD gave me a 6 day 250 mg instead of a 3 day 500 mg... why??????? last time i got the Rx it was the 500. why did she do that? grrrrrrrr... im sooo close to just double dosing it... guess i should call my PCP first, but dammit, why didnt she just give me the quick fix? will up my fluids and all ... but grrrrrrrr
  4. im gunna strangle my DH (d does NOT mean dear right here...) strep throat... freaking strep throat!! the man i kissed has strep throat. at least my PCP gave me an Rx for a Z pack. i called my surgeon's office and they said to stay away from him... well, duh!!!
  5. when i have adequate restriction eat and then take a drink, it brings the food (and liquid) back up ... rather forcefully ... not a good thing.
  6. that is superb! congrats!!
  7. i've lost the complete Oxford English Dictionary ..
  8. wooooo hooooo! that is great. congrats!
  9. i'd love to join, but im not sure what they are going to take off with my surgery. best of luck to you guys!!
  10. that's one thing im really worried about ... my 4yr old DD is VERY chatty ... when i had my lap band placed, she saw the incisions and i told her they were my ouches, but i was OK... everyone we saw, Mama has ouches..
  11. Tammy, congrats and welcome to bandland!! i heard that walking around helps the gas as well. when you are up to it, you may want to try that.
  12. Hi Lois, We did just clean up the thread, but the objective was to leave the pictures and delete the comments. If any pics were deleted, it was unintentional. Congrats on being banded.
  13. WIDE AWAKE at 430am.. gonna be a long day.
  14. im hoping since i will not be having drains and no hunching over (Dr. P wants me up 95% straight day 1) that it will be a tad easier ... **fingers crossed** i like the pain is temporary thing ...
  15. thanks ... we have several people having plastics in Feb/March ... threads are all in the plastics forum.
  16. fenton absolutely welcome here! sorry to hear 9/11 affected you so much. best of luck on your banding.
  17. hope you are doing well today!
  18. thanks so much gals... i cant believe its almost here! DD is sick with a nasty ear infection and DH now has sore throat, hopefully nothing serious... im loading up on the vit C... if DHs is bad will get antibiotic just in case..
  19. yeah, i was hoping there would be more comical things going back and forth due to all the 'doped up' plastics patients ... there goes my daily entertainment i guess...
  20. yup ... i've heard that semi comment before... but that's ok ... i'll heal fine and then go up to see DH's parents and really freak them out !! LMAO. they know i've lost some weight, but no clue how (nor will they ever know), nor do they know about the plastics ... so next time his family sees me, i'll be a 'normal' maybe in their eyes... 'normal' for them i think is 5'2" 100 pounds and Chinese... so not really normal to them... :smile2:
  21. wayyyyyyyyyyy too chicken to try on a suit. Target does have some cute suits coming out though...
  22. me being nosey, neal... so what did you do? i have visions of me being able to go out that first week after surgery and just ride around target in one of those kart thingys... am i being over zealous??
  23. everyone is different in their weight loss. some are starting off at lower weights and lose slower than those of us (me included) that started up very high. not a good thing to assume that slow lose = bad behavior. although in some cases (me recently) it is. i find when im not eating well and dont get up to move, my loss slows. also, some people dont want to get another fill for fear of being too tight... i think i'd rather be a tad too loose than too tight.. realistic goal for you, my advice - aim low, work your tail off in the gym and maybe be pleasantly surprised... i should mention - in the past 6 months, i've lost a total of maybe 25 pounds, but i've lost 7 inches off my waist alone. it all depends on what numbers you want to focus on. best of luck to you.
  24. Jack, you are the best!
