    Before Surgery

hi, welcome to LBT. What are some of the important things to do BEFORE your surgery? - take pictures. preferably in something that fits maybe a tad snug. take it in a location where you can gauge your progress. for example, i took mine in front of a door. you can see the door getting 'bigger' each month :cursing:. i do regret not taking pics of me in just a bra/panties (shudder) - what not to do - no need for a bunch of 'last meals'. with a band, most people can eat a little of anything. some have problems with eggs or chicken or beef or something, but that is normally when they are properly restricted What are some things you WISH you would have done? - see above about the less clothed pics ... - i wish i would have done it sooner What kind of equipment did you have to buy if any? - none What about food? We haven't talked about this in the office as of yet but I'm sill very curious. - i eat pretty much whatever i want. i have problems with solids in the mornings, but i just do a shake and am very satisfied until lunch. How do you keep from getting stopped up??? - ??? are you taking about fiber sort of stopped up or something else? Am I going to get to drink lots of Water when I don't eat? - i have a water bottle with me 19 hours out of the day and sip all day long. i usually drink about 80 ounces a day. good luck!

    A Suggestion......

Rain, what a great idea! i went from not being able to fit in clothes from The Avenue (30/32 wouldnt even button / zip / pull up) to almost not being able to shop at The Avenue because a 14/16 is starting to fit and will soon be too big... woooooooo hooooooo!

    My parents are getting banded

cleaning out my subscription folder and found this. are they still getting banded?
  8. Hi Jeni, i agree with upping the Protein. eggs with some salsa or something for Breakfast. maybe a slice of cheese melted on top?? you may not be able to eat eggs for long, but eat them while you can. lots of great protein. what about lean meat? how are you doing on that? if you arent supposed to be on full solids yet, stick with eggs and some Protein drinks. this period you are in right now is called "bandster hell" for a reason, its not easy and does take willpower to maintain. do necessarily go for losing right now. start the good habits, eat well and move when you can. the band will take care of you once you have a proper restriction. take care and welcome to bandland!

    I am so COLD!!!

the first several weeks after my band was placed, i was FREEEEEEZING. shivering so horribly that my DH threatened to take me to the hospital. it eventually got a tad better. i am still very very cold, but nothing that layers will not take care of. i think it was the anesthesia. really looking forward to having my tuck now ...

    Unfill for Plastic Surgery

neal should be checked into the surgical center by now... SO EXCITING!!
  13. i really like daily plate and spark people, but use My Food Diary :: Online Calorie Counter w/ Diet Journal & Exercise Log . the downside is, it's not free. about 10 a month. i had a free membership for awhile (to try it) and was hooked. i figure i used to eat at least $10 a week in food / coffee, i can splurge on 10 a month for a tool to help me lose the weight.
  14. i think you were being way too kind!!

    Chicken Fight

i could not agree more with this!! my first stick, i figured i'd wash it down with a huge gulp of tea. well, let's just say the i did get unstuck, but it came up and it was rather violent with NO WARNING!
  16. i think the most i would intentionally gain would be about 5 pounds. if i needed more, i'd put a few rolls of quarters or something in my pockets.

ohhhh... that one sounds like it could kick my behind! thanks!!! something to add to my work out ... when i work out... **sigh** daily, i think i've forgotten what it's like to work out daily ... weekly, yup ... maybe 1-2 times a week... i need my rear kicked.

How to Target Under the Arm Flab??

i think any chest type exercises would help this area too (if we're talking about the same area - im talking about my side where the fat rolls up over the bra) and my 'bat wings' for arms... try a chest press on a ball and flyes on the ball. pushups would work too. i do regular ones and standing (leaning) ones. i know it gets discouraging sometimes, but it does pay off in the end!

    Cheesy Tuna

hi Luscious, everyone pretty much sticks with the plan of eating that works for them. for me (and georgia girl too i believe) it's Atkins / Low Carb. i dont concern myself with any type of fat content when i am low-carbing it. banding helps with portion control, however, there are several not so good foods that tend to 'slip through' the band quite easily. my suggestion, read posts here and educate yourself as much as possible. for me, the band was the best thing i did for myself. good luck!

NOPE!!! yeah, i guess i am ... just want it to be over with. bet you are just going nuts right about now. about 26 hours from now you will be snooooooozing away! you are the first brachioplasty here ... i will update the 'roster'... welcome!! drkel - welcome to our thread! so sorry to hear the news about your band. sounds like you have done a fabulous job with it though!! all is well with me. i went home for the weekend and just spending time with my family (still sleeping - must be nice :crying: - not an easy thing to do with a 4 year old!!) i am so ready for this surgery. i just want it to happen tomorrow! but of course, i am in no way prepared for it. i was initially going to get a hospital bed for my house for 2 weeks, but after trying out a wedge pillow, i decided against it. just an added expense i didnt really need. take care everyone
