initiallyh my pcp id not agree with WLS, but after time and seeing that I was getting nowhere with diet alone, he caved and also saw pst-op my strides and he is so happy and h has actually changed his mind about lap band surgery, but not the bypass... I also told prople that saaw the weight loss as HIGH Protein LOW CARB DIET and EXCERSICE...nobody bugged me after that

Unsolicited advice...Errr!
Hi I am ayear + post-op and doing well...I still feel your pain and still get stupid comments such as the ones you described...and envisioning wearing small sizes does not work...surgery does. When a work, I did not disclise my surgery to anyone and i THINK THAT it is propab;y the best way to handle. I donot freely divulg my little secret, but that is because I caught so much crap from people that said that I wqould be foolish to have surgery..do weight watvchers etc repeatidly...sometimes it is better not to dicuss these issues nless you really know the other person well and they are non-judgmenta, and undersatnd weight issues...

Telling people, Judgements, and Accountability with the Band
I get what you are saying and am right in line with you on all your points. I get it. How are you doing now?

Telling people, Judgements, and Accountability with the Band
:cool2::smile::thumbup:I totally understand what you are saying. I still, 7 months later, have still not told co-workers and other people, that I did the surgery. It is not embarassment, but so many people have had negative comments about WLS. I am succeeding, but my boss has failed. I do not want to be linked to her failure, ergo, I do not tell people about my surgery. Smart or not, I do not want to be lumped into a failure category, when clearly I am not 97 lbs to date...still going strong too. It is like arebirth, without a doubt...how are you doing?

First & Second Fills ????
water is good and crystal light also helps if you are tired of palin water... i am losing more weight now after plateauing for a few weeks. i really think that it depends also on how much excersie and stress you are under... i am going to tell you that incorporating more veggies does hlep too...

really worried....
just in my opinion qand experience, the band is tight rfeeling for a few days, then relaxes. the you will have your first post-op appt then perhaps you will get your first fill. my surgeon filled 2cc agtsurgery date then i have had 1.5 the nextto appts, hving good restrictin for the first week or so, then relaxing quite a bit after. i go once a month for a fill to a max of 14cc if I need. just carefull what you eat; my first experince of vomiting by eating food that was too dry to digest appenne 2 eek post op, then again a week ago before i had my secondfill again because of chicken bing to dry and not able to digest. i do better to mix mat and veggies on the same fork for lubricatin to get it down. i think you will be fine. jsut need a fill, it sounds like. cheer up!

I had a gfraduated diet...liquids up til day 3, then full Fluid to day 10 then puree up to day 15 and then regular diet. interesting. maybe i need to go back to liquids??? Aqua fit is lots of fun and youi tone up rather than bulk up with weightlifting. what are you doing for excercse at this point?

First Fill
I thought the surgeon was harsh also, but... the long and short is that I have returned to the gym, doing only aqua aerobics and I have lost 5 lbs since my visit with teh surgeon. I see that you havfe been on lap band for a while.;..may I ask how you have done. The good, bad and ugly of it please. Love to hear other people's experiences...

First Fill
this is fascinating. I saw my surgeon on 3-15-10 . He told me I will have my first fill on 4-12 and he told me to return to the gym immediately since I did not lose any weight post-op (I had surgery 3-5). So, I was upset, but my dietician told me not to expect weight losss for 2-3 weeks post-op since I had lost 46 lbs pre-op. Was this your experience also? I am upset that I di dnot lose weioght, but felt that the doctor was ratgher harsh. I would love3 to hear more about your experience please. Thasnk for answering back!

Health degenerating post lapband
Sorry to hear about your problems. Perhaps you are hypothyroid and/or were never diagnoseed with same. I just had surgerya week ago, so I am a fresh post-op. I am only on full fluids still, but I am doing well. I have my moments when I would l;ove to be able to try to chew meat again, but I must be patient. A visit to your surgeon is in order, but first attrack the adrenal issue and anemia. If you can, return to the protein shakes and sugar free/fat free jellos and puddings and soups, V8 fruit and juice mixes (the light ones) and increase water again. Maybe this will work. I do hope that youfeel better and much success.
