  1. I am sorry to hear that he thinks that way. Is it possible that he is afraid to lose you after you do get the weight off.? Does he have a weight problem? As far as being "cut open" I think you need to show him what the surgery consists of. Look at all the gals and guys just here in this Lapbandforum. We are doing just fine. We have not been "Cut Open" and you will not be either. What do you want? if "we" could have "done" it ourselves we all would have. And as far as it being the "easy way out" OMG. I can't wait till you get all the comments about that. It is quite early in the morning right now so get ready. For me I have worked very hard to lose these 90 lbs. The only easy things I saw was the ready to drink protein drinks. Other wise, I worked for what I have. Work makes life sweet. Sounds like your life is not sweet. Being over weight and unhappy is a sad thing. I wish you the best of luck. I also am anxious to read what you have decided to to.
  2. Hi. Oh boy I know how you feel. I didn't have irriitable bowel Syndrome, I had inflammatory bowel disease. With Ulcerative Colitis. I had 8 ulcers on my Colon. They thought I hd Crohns disease and treated me for it. Eventially my ulcers cleared up in the colon. They finally ruled out Crohns. I would have been a tooth pick with Crohns. I was a big one instead. I hurt so bad with pain in my bely that I just ate bread and butter and rice and butter. I just got fatter and fatter. I was taking 9 pills a day, then I had some colonoscopy and found out that my colon healed. I also found out that my tummy cramps and diarrea so many times a day was from the pills.. So I stopped them. Then my Mom passed away and that stress that I had all the time~ left. I was sick just a little. Then I got fired from job, Had the band and now I am doing so much better. But for some unknown reason. I see that I am Allergic to Liver. 2x I had it only to have 2 accidents (last one in a shoe store) So I guess I am allergic to certain foods. Or some foods are hard to digest. I think staying away from the bad food is a great idea. My problems are not as bad as yours. But I know you will do well and I hope you do. hugs to you.
  3. I wasnt lucky enough to have any insurance to pay for the lapband. I had to pay $10,000.00 out of pocket. You are going to live so why not just go with the flow and do what they say. I suggest that you get in the habit of eating less, exercising, drinking water. Those are great things for you to do. It is really a win win situation for you. Think about the good things and the end result..Best of luck.
  4. Start measuring your food. Drink lots of water, Want to be sucessful. Try to think about other things instead of food. Go for a walk 2x a day. Exercise. Join lots of groups. Find friends. Dont rely on a fill to keep you from eating. Drink more water.
  5. We are on our way to water aerobics. Have a great forth of July.
  6. go to Wlsfa.org see if they can recommend someone.
  7. I would go to: wlsfa.org...find Antonia or Rosemary. Tell them your problem I think they can help you.
  8. I live in Ft lauderdale, Fl they charge about $200.00
  9. I guess we are all the same. Try to have more possitive feelings. The lapband is great. Highland I want to congratulate you. Have a good weekend and look up not down.
  10. try wellesse.com sugar free liquid. ask for a sample. they are great tasting also.
  11. Thanks for that Ladies. I was going by the MRI payment for contracts...I hope it helps her.
  12. Good news for you...Keep us in your mind and friend us. best wishes. change your life and your lifestyle. You will be very happy when you do that.
  13. From what I remember about BCBS they pay a contracted amount. Unless things have really changed since I posted payment. Please let me know if I am wrong. I paid $10,000.00 cash. Usually they do not tell the patient what they pay. But the place where they do the surgery knows. Especially if they participate with bcbs.
  14. As far as I know, the reason we are not to take nsaid are because nsaids can rot the band/eat up your tummy. It is Tyleonol that people relate the liver problems to..I would reomend a plastic pad for the heel~ Can it be that you have a heel spur? Have u had an xray on it? I had a pain in my ball of the foot from Zumba class. I loved doing it but I hurt too much. So I bought a "pad" for it. But the pad does not work since the pain is near the bone. I would go to a doc and have it xrayed and you will see for sure what is what. We can guess all we want but xrays are what you need. I am sure after the weight is gone. The pain will subside. hugs.
  15. Good idea. Take the matter in your own hands. and you will be sure it gets done. I also take that thyroid medication. Keep going forward and never give up. I think Tricare is a good insurance. Dont give up the ship for anything~ delays happen but you don't delay what is the best thing for you.
  16. I do not understand this. Didn't they give you a list? Broth is what I was told to have. there are three types. veggie, chicken and beef. and as above.. Please have some prune juice. So you dont get consitpated. I know that everyone hates that subject. But you will hate it more when you have it. And with those pain pill you are taking, and the small amount of food you will get. it. I am not joking.
  17. You might need orthodics, There is a book out: The Fat resistance diet. It talks about inflamation in the body. It also has a recipe for: imune power Soup. Just put the info in google. anyone the soup might help..What about a heel pad? I know how you feel about routine and I know how you feel about pain. what does the dr say.? Some think anti inflamatorys are ok. I think they are really not ok. But I have taken them cause I needed them also. Its a hard choice. thats whyI am talking about the intake of proper food.
  18. BEST WISHES TO THE BOTH OF YOU.
  19. Hi Joyce. Welcome. Sorry that you had to go thru that stuff. Now that you are on the right track. Just go forward. I wanted to mention that Pasta, bread and potatoes to eat will not help you lose the wieght that you want to lose. I recommend that you purchase calorie, carb and Protein book. AND READ IT/ We are on a high protein ~ low carb program here. Best of luck to you. Keep posting. Eat slowly cause soon you will have restriction and you will have to chew chew chew. hugs. ilene
