  7. Your weight loss is great. But who told you soda is permisable? It only makes yoiu burp more. It is also stretches out your pouch. Why not drink Water? It is the best for you and me and everyone else. Good luck..I hope you do not have a slip. You might ask your doc and as him about the soda too.

THINK OF THE GREAT THING AND CHANGES YOU WILL BE MAKING. THINK POSSITIVE..YOU CAN DO IT....
  10. When I began my journey I was told no bread, no rice, no pasta. They are filled with carbs..I wonder if the carbs might be holding you back from losing weight?
  11. I met Banded Wendy i las Vegas last year. She is very excited about her life. i am cncerned that the Dr's are not giving their patients rules and regulations for their post op. I know how it feels since I had to learn these things on my own.
  12. I hope that you have called your dr by now. Looking forward to hearing that you are better.
  13. Pain is normal.. What ever you all do. Do not go for days with out a bm. you will be very sorry,.
  14. I am going for my walk...but I sent you my email address....calm down....I will help you.
  15. Thats right listen to Cazzy, I agree, why would anyone "work around the band??" Think about all the good things you will receive when you follow the rules...Stop thinking so much about eating. Try putting energy to other things...good luck, now go forward and forget about the wrong and make it all right.
  16. Congrats on your lapband surgery. Were you given a diet program telling you how much food you should eat at a sitting? I was, It is about 1 cup of food. As far as any restricton after 1 fill. I don't think you will have it. Usually it takes about 4-5 or more (depending on how agressive your Dr is when he fills your band. When you eat food. Eat protein first, then veggies. Dont keep eating until you are FULL. Stop eating when you are satisfied. The reason for the band **which is just a too** is to remind you not to over eat. If you do overeat. You will feel "not so good." And you will have to throw up. It not only is not pretty, it is not good because it hurts, and the band might slip. I am hoping that you were told about not eating bread, pasta, rice, pizza and no drinking while you eat. And no drinking right after eating. NO carbinated fluids. You should also chew your food as if you were pulverizing it with your teeth. You had the lapband so you could lose your weight. the restriction will come soon but you also need to pay attention not to eat crap. You would not put crap food in your childrens dish would you? I am for you and hope you receive this email with joy and not anger. you may reach me at lizybird@aol.com... I have helped many girls lose weight..
  17. The reason you got the lapband was that you can use it as a tool. It will give you enough restriction (eventually) to be able to eat enough to make you satiated (satisfied but NOT FULL) if you are full you have eatten too much. And if you eat too much you will not only gain weight, you will not lose and will stretch out the pouch for you to eat more and more. And if you gobble it down cause you have a stretch out pouch you might throw up. The worst of that is errosion of the band. That is why my dr does not want me to have a fill. We all want more! We are never satisfied. With the Lapband, it is thougt that 2 lbs per week is the average. You will learn to put only quality in your stomach, That way you will have the full nutrition. REMEMBER protein first, carbs last. We all have plateaus. We need to love ourselves, and exercise, eat right take out vitamins, drink our water, choose our foods wisely, I hope that you have purchased a book that has calories, carbs, protein, etc in it for you to know what is going in. This is your life~no one elses. If you follow the rule and do not cheat you will get to where you want to be. We are on a high protein low carb diet. I have not had: soda, bread, rice, pizza, pasta, cake, cookies, pies, candy or any other garbage that will inhibit me from going further in my journey. I also want to mention that I lost 89 lbs in 15 months. I turned 64 2 weeks ago. Feel free to email me. lizybird@aol.com
  18. If you want to get to your sweet spot, you should have the fill. **that is your business, not mine** During the time you eat, you should stop when you are satiated NOT full. It sounds like you have been doing a good job so far. yay. But the lapband is supposed to give you restriction. That is what you signed up for. I have about 6 lbs to lose after 89 lbs in 15 months .omg those last lbs r very hard to lose. believe me. I do have restriction, but I do not think it is enough. Dr says no fills for me. So I have to eat less food and exercise. I exercise every day..I know that 35 lbs is nice to lose and 35 left is not 135 but. In my opinion. You need fills for restriction. What does the Dr say anyhow? best of luck
  19. burping. take gasx and walk. It is not from the food at all. It is from the surgery and the way they put gas inside so that they can see inside you. I use a straw when i drink water from a LARGE cup. I guess bending the straw would be a good idea.. The lapband is really only a tool. Before it gives restriction, you will have at least 4-6 fills. During the time you do not have restriction. You will have to want to lose the weight and follow the rule given to you. Measuring your food, eating slowly, chewing it like crazy. Not drinking with meals and not drinking right after a meal will be part of the rules to follow. After having the surgery I see no reason to want or even think about eating around the band. Winners with the band do not do that. They want to lose the weight so they follow the rules. For me I abstained from the wrong foods and that is why I am a successful person. I am a winner. i walk 3 miles a day and do water aerobics. I am 64 years olf and lost slowly. but I got there~89 lbs gone. How do they gain weight? They eat the wrong foods, don't have regular check ups and fills at their apts. They do not really want to be thin and healthy. They do not exercise. I do not want to continue saying these things. It is not progresive and I kow you really want to be progressive. right? I will be pleased to help you if your request. Ilene lizybird@aol.com
  20. I will be happy to help you in any way. i lost 89 lbs in 15 months. I have the lapband 2years 2 month now. I am 64 years old now. I am a co leader in 2 groups. I have been asked for help many times. Will love to be your mentor. ilene lizybird@aol.com.... one thing. I do not like peole who cheat. They are only cheating themselves. not me. I am thin now.....I am straight and narrow and talk and think that way. I will be there for you if you want me too. it is up to you. I live in florida.
  21. good luck to you momof2crazyboys and congrats on having the surgery. And for you Cazz. I am sure you will do fine. I am 2years 2 months out. I have been very sucessful. I know that my determination came from not wanting to be as I was, but wanting to be what I want. Does that make sense? I am old enough to die from my obestiy. I didn't want to die like that. I was dermined and NO ONE, NO HOW is or was going to get in between that. Can you see yourself doing that? feeling that way? Try hard. That lapband is not going to stop you eating the wrong food. But as a tool after several fills it will not let you over eat. It will not tell you what to eat. But if you have the lapband you should want to eat the right things. Why not.!!! This is a surgery, it is not a band aid. I hope that you will want to succeed more than eat the food that got you were you are in the first place. Following the rules, exercise, and wanting to get healthy, will get you to the finish line.I see you at the finish line, right along with me and thousands of others.Your whole life will change. I promise you.. With the band you can say adios to the bread, rice, soda, pasta, cookies, cake, sweets, (( arent those the ones that got you where you are?) Well adios to them. they are not your friends. Actually food is not your friend either. But we have to eat. After the band besure and find a support group. ask questions. I will be happy to help you if you would like. Just let me know.. lizybird@aol.com Best of luck
  22. I had shingles. ugh. Even after you get better you can have pain. I used to take Valium and could not wear my bra. I would rock back and forth at my desk. It drove me nut.
