Ihad my surgery at 8:45 est. My doctor said my surgery went really well. It was a lap band to sleeve all in one conversion. I have not been allowed to eat or drink today at all. My first drink will be tomorrow at my swallow eval. And with this surgery I think I was one of the lucky ones, I have not even been hungry!! I have only needed pain medication 4 times since surgery, I am very sore, but I am not really in a lot of pain. I have been up and walking multiple times times today. Last time I walked around the unit 4 times. So if I don't have a leak tomorrow I will get to go home!!!

Surgery went well it took a little over 2 hours for the lap band removal and sleeping. I was at the hospital today at. 6:45. Did all the prep stuff, in surgery at 8:45. I was in my room for my overnight stay by 1:00. I have been napping on and off, and have taken the pain meds as I need them. I am not really in severe pain, just a little achy.

So glad to hear this!! I am going for my all-in-one surgery tomorrow too. I was freaking out a little bit, but hearing this makes me so much more relaxed!

I am with you!! I am being sleeved tomorrow at 8:45 EST. I cannot wait, but I do have a case of the last minute jitters! We will get through this and come out on the losers bench!

How did this surgery compare with having the band put in? I am doing the same thing tomorrow, all in one surgery.

My doctor said that I had to wait at least 2 weeks to submerge my incisions in any water. I am not sure if that is exactly what you were asking about or not. As far as eating, you will need to know what foods you will be eating and plan to follow your doctors diet to a T. I think you will be fine if you do that, but like the previous posters have said, check with your doctor to see if he thinks you will be ok to travel. Will you be flying or sitting in a car for long periods of time? if so get up and stretch frequently. Sitting for long periods of time can make you more prone to blood clots.

You have lost 50 pounds. I think you are doing amazing! You have three surgeries in 7 months. You need to cut yourself a break and work on healing before you worry about losing to slowly. (Which by the way, I don't feel like 50 pounds is all that slow!!!) Just worry about your getting your protein and fluids in.

When people asked how I lost the weight when I had lap-band surgery I always told them it was with portion control. That is also what I said when my family tried to keep feeding me well after I was full.

Ugh, I have not even had the surgery. I swear, I am breaking out now worse than when I was a teenager. It is terrible. I think mine is the instant increase in protein intake? If it doesn't get better after surgery I am going to go to a dermatologist.

I know I am freaking out! It is almost here. I am so excited, anxious, nervous and scared all at the same time. I think this is the first surgery I am actually having some anxiety about. I cannot wait to be on the other side of this surgery though!!

I was told by my doctor two weeks. Every doctor is different.

My doctor told me I could take all of my pills as they are and crush them. If I have issues with them, I can crush them if I want. Since I hate the bitterness of most medication I pray I can take them whole! Check with your doctor and see what he has to say about that.

Check with your doctor if there is something else you can take. I had the same problem with my lap band, and he lets me take the Flinstone chewable vitamins.

Hi Tammy! I am June 10th. I am happy, excited, and freaking out too. And it can cycle every few minutes!! I think we are all like this. We just need to stay positive and look forward to our new, healthier lives! What part of Kentucky are you from? I am from Cincinnati.

Just be glad it is just a week. My doctor makes you do a whole month of each stage!

You can use your phone in Mexico but it is EXPENSIVE!! If you have free wifi at your hotel/hospital you can use that to skype. But when I went on vacation I asked about this and they gave me a number that I was not willing to pay. They can show you how to set up your phone so that you only use the wifi though. That is how I communicated with my family. Hope that helps.
