From the album: A Few before Pictures

Was really shocked when I saw this picture. The person I looked at in the mirror was not actually who I was.

Congratulations on such a wonderful achievement. It is reading inspiring stories like these which help me to stay on track on a daily basis.

  5. Hi, I was just looking through the site and noticed from you post that you were sleeved by Dr. Nicholson on Nov. 17th also! Just would like to maybe share with someone who is at the same phase of their journey as I am. Hope to hear from ya!

  6. Good luck with your surgery!

  7. Hope you had a great Christmas. I wanted to get caught into my normal holiday grazing but thank goodness my sleeve told me differently, and I had no choice but to listen.

  9. I will be 4 weeks post-op Wednesday. I belch everytime I eat and it's a little embarassing? Can anyone tell me when/if this problem will go away. Also, could it be a sign that my pouch is full?

    Why is WLS a secret?

I too want to share information about the new tool I now have. I would not promote or recommend to anyone but would be open to answer questions which could possibly help someone else. Being overweight can have a negative effect on so many aspects of a person's life, sharing anything which may help seems almost like a must.
  16. Thanks for your input on the shapers. Found one today at Lane Bryant, or the LB as I like to call it, for $25. I just kept thinking, this may be one of my last purchases there.

  17. Ladies, once completelly healed I would like to start wearing a little something to hold it all in as I hopefully shrink away. I looked at the spanx website but they were very pricey does anyone have any suggestions?
  18. Hey, I don't think that anyone on here has questions wheather or not it's the right thing to do. You'll be suprised how much better it will get each day. I wish you the best with your surgery.
  19. I sent you my dressing recipie, let me know how it turns out. Although I am always a Louisianan at heart, I've been in the DFW area for about 16 years and often work in East Texas. Great job with your sleeve, I hope to do the same.

  20. I'm sure my story is one that is far from being unique. I have been overwight since I was a child, and since I am currently, 38, that was quite a long while ago. I have spent so much money on trainers, classes, exercise equiptment, bootcamps, books, etc. that I feel that although I was an expert on HOW to lose weight, I just couldn't seem to DO it. As health care professional, people asked me to recommend something for weight loss at least once a week. As I tried to control myself from rolling my eyes, my mind screamed" REALLY?, Look at me, if there were some magic pill, surely I would be taking it!" I could get to the 40 pound mark, but after that, it seemed a done deal. I never considered weight loss surgery until I realized how long it had been since I'd bought the last book, signed up for the last class, or touched that exercise equiptment. I realized that I had finally given up and that once this happened, I had slowly been getting bigger and bigger. At first, it was with sadness, that I approached, the idea. Then, after doing research, I realized that choosing WLS was not another step in giving up, it was finally a step in aquiring a tool which could permanently help me with my health. Well, I finally was given this tool when I was sleeved on November, 17th. I hope to share my journey and hope that it will inspire others and the many members on this forum have inspired me.
  21. Since I am still on a liquid diet, Thanksgiving was difficult this year. Since we don't have any family near us, we normally have Thanksgiving with two other transplant families. However, since I was still sore and could only eat liquids, we decided to only do our small family. My husband asked that I only cook his favorite, my crawfish stuffing and he'd do the rest. Only having to prepare one dish was great but how can you cook without tasting? That was difficult. Even though I didn't feel hungry, it felt almost like I was segregated since I couldn't take part in the meal with the rest of my family. At least things will be a little better for Christmas since I will be doing solid foods by then.

29 Years Old & Getting the Sleeve

There is no right or wrong in choosing weather or not to tell others. It's just what's best for that individual just like the choice to have the surgery in the first place. I have decided to stop the "haters" in their tracks. No need for a did she or didn't she water cooler conversation. I have proudly told everyone that I was out on leave for weight loss surgery and then gave them the "You got somethin' to say?" look LoL. So far no takers.

From the album: A Few before Pictures

Not many pictures after March of this year. The pictures taken at the beginning of 2010 made me shy away from the camera because I couldn't stand to see how big I'd gotten. Also, Januari was when I tried WW and was amazed that I was the biggest person in the room at my first meeting.
