i just got a call the my company has lapband covered but it would be just like you said clinial review. :ban: :D so im happy about that i guess ill will let my surgeon know about the changes and everything. it would be nice to get it done before the year is up but if it's a sure thing with UHC i'll wait until Jan.

Dani you really have helped me alot it seems that iam always thinking about how to get this surgery and its because i know i need help. UHC might just be worth that 77.00 per pay period!!!:cry

im sort of in the same boat with Atena my company is switching in January so im trying to get the procedure done before then. i have my first appt with the surgeron on 11-10 so i hope things go quickly. and UHC PPO is who i want to go with. But my company is giving me a hard time they dont even know if the surgery is covered.

Pugmaster seems like you gott it under control i guess im just a bit on edge because my company is changing to cigna in January 07 so im trying to get it done before the year is out do you think that is possible

ok here goes i have Atnea and i just found out they cover lapband so i called my pcp she gave the referral cause i have HMO i found a doctor now i have an appt with him on the 10 of november i meet with him the nurse, diet lady, insurance rep not sure how long i will have to wait until atena approves it. i have no diabetes or sleep apena or anything like that i'm not crazy or least i think im not. and everytime i call Atnea they are always very nice i just wonder if they will give me the run around. i just found out also that we are switching in Jan to another carrier CIGNA WTF!!!!

when i meet the the doc im going to be straight up with him and say i want this done before christmas or right before jan.

stay positive and dont you worry about a thing it will happen for you like I already know it's gonna happen for me.

ok i will let him know that whenever we met the first time i called i was told that i would get a call within a week. but when i called yesterday they said a week in a half. so im just waiting trying not to be impaitent the Lapband center that Im suppose to be go too is one of the best in dallas area. all the doctors are on the tops list for lapband and gastric bypass. i check their records and they look great, maybe they are just booked with lot of patients

Thanks so much Mindy, I just thought I would have been made to feel more important over the phone. I dont have an appt yet this doctor yet. He's at UT Southwesten he is the only doctor that I know of that takes Atena in the area. So i feel kind of stuck with the doctor its not a big list of doctors to chose from at all.
