    Hiatal Hernia

I actually had one with the band, it was small, but he repaired it then. I actually only had four holes with that, five when they took the band out and another five with the by-pass. Actually, didn't know any difference other than I haven't had heartburn since. Which I totally like.

    coffee drinkers

I switched to decaf prior to surgery, actually because of other medical problems caused by caffinated coffee (irregular heart beats). I actually have a Kurig and use K-cups with my own decaf (too cheap to buy the pods), but also add vanilla protein or chocolate protein to start my day with along with jump starting my metabolism. Once in awhile I'll get a decaf, non-fat venti latte at Starbucks, which has protein also, so MyFitnessPal tells me. Plus my pouch likes something warm the first thing in the morning. Doesn't care too much for something cold.

    Decisions Decisions...

Same here -band to bypass. Had surgery on a Wednesday, and actually could have gone back to work the following Monday. I quit taking pain medication on Sunday. But I did take two weeks off though. As had to get a dr's release before I could go back to work, which I did a week after surgery.

    Weight loss and BMs

I'll be two months the 11th. Since surgery I have gone from 3 to 4 BM's daily to about one every other day. I use to be banded and that doctor ordered Benafiber rather than a stool softner as the diet doesn't give you enough Fiber in your system. Also that is why they want you to push fluids. I am sorry you haven't lost much weight as that sucks. Yes, you do need to speak with your doctor in case there are issues.

    Burping

I still have burping especially if I sip too fast or too frequently, or too much. Also, had a little discomfort every time I drank, only lasted a few moments. Noticed though it wasn't near the problem with I drank something warm. I'll be 2 months the 11th post op and starting to notice not having the problem with the pouch as much. But burping or belching is still an issue even after I eat something.

    Dumping

My first, with bypass, was last weekend. I believe it was caused from to much sugar. Got some mild gas pains, and then the urgent message I need to get to the bathroom. Immediately knew this was dumping, once it was over felt 100% better. Now I have had dumping experiences in years past, it comes on sudden and at times you don't have time to get to a public restroom. I always carry a complete change of clothing in my car for these situations. Mine usually occurred within 30 minutes after I have ate something but never could pin point what it was I ate that caused it. Now with the bypass I have not had the problem except this one time and I can live with that as I know what caused it. Hope this helps.

The Count Down Begins for Boob job :)

Kasper why don't you just click on my name and find out just how old I am. I was taught respect and "do unto others as you would do unto them". Just what did TurnThePage do to you? Don't answer it isn't necessary. I understand where you are coming from even though you might not think so.

The Count Down Begins for Boob job :)

I try to be nice to everyone, but in reading post, there is a saying "people who live in glass houses should not throw stones". Yet one person is being labeled "rude" because of what they said to someone who chose to no longer be on the forum and the people who are labelling that one person, are being rude to the person they call "rude". Just can't comprehend the logic as I must be dumb. How can someone call another person rude, yet be rude themselves?

Kasper you pulled in my quote that I was replying to brknhrtd8911, on November 2, 2013 - 1:51 PM, and I'm not "TurnThePage" so your apology is accepted.

    KRAFT STRING CHEESE BEING RECALLED

Thanks for sharing, have a whole bag of Kraft, now will have to look at the date. Haven't opened it, but remember the reading about the recall but didn't get the information.

    Horror stories?!?

You are totally correct. Unfortunately, a third party has stirred the pot, regarding issues between two others. Hopefully this will all calm down and blow over. Or the three of them can meet somewhere and duke it out and leave this forum alone

The Count Down Begins for Boob job :)

Look at your post at 10:48 AM #25 there isn't any name on that quote and I had no clue where you got it. I actually just found it a few minutes ago so at the time I responded to you I didn't know who had said it. The most important thing is, it is only one person, Tiny has support of more than one and that is what is important. The month long stall is over!"

You're doing great, I weigh myself daily and even though I don't lose like I think I should I know what I am doing not too and need to correct my actions, either eating a little more, or excerise (uck). Something to jump start the metabolism again. Just don't get discouraged, just look at that scale and scold it if it doesn't move.

    My body is protesting....

If you are drinking a protein and it isn't an isolate it could be causing IBS. When I first had to start my liquid diet with my band, I spent days with severe pains in the lower intestine. I spoke with the nurse prior to surgery, and this is basically what she told me that happened to some people. In my case though it was mixture of a medication I was taking mixed with the protein. Eliminated the medication and I am fine, unless I drink to much.

The Count Down Begins for Boob job :)

Let me just say, that I have no clue where you got the quote or who made it. But it is only one person from what you posted. Tiny has support of quite a few people that post here that is what does count. Tiny has always been supportive and knowledgeable, but as we all know she and her children are in a very bad relationship. And all I can see is the scars that that relationship is leaving and that is my concern. Her boob job is not my concern, but if she can afford that so be it, but I would rather forget me and get my children the heck out of dodge. But whatever decision Tiny makes she has to live with it. Is there any truth in the quote you posted? I don't know. I will say there are some things that are uncalled for " your illiterate and incomprehensible post" , " idiot's". And wherever was posted was most of it accurate? There again I don't know and I don't care. It was made by one person and that one person does not make this whole forum of people who support Tiny. So Tiny is definitely supported on this forum, that is so obvious so when you say "If she is so supported" there again it is one person, so are you trying to tell me because of this One Person, Tiny doesn't have the support of the rest of us? She has my support in whatever decision she makes even though I don't agree with her logic. Whether the person who made the remarks should be barred, well there are enough of you complaining about it that there is a good possibility it might happen.

    rny / sleeve

Whatever you have done, it is a lifetime decision, so at my age, I'm not looking at just today but 10-15 years from now. We don't know what lies in our future including our health, so I wanted to make sure to include all factors, if possible, that might become a possibility. I wasn't thinking it was a way out, but if some health condition arose, which meant it needed to be reversed it could be, as with the band. Not much can be done though when you are only working with 1/3 of a stomach as is the case with the sleeve. I had a patient who had it bypass done years ago, and the nephrologist I worked for, wanted the patient to have her's reversed. She was having to have iron infusions and they were becoming more difficult and her kidneys were failing. I am a person who tries to weigh all positive and negative, ifs and what ifs, in case something might happen that could require reversal. Plus if any doctor would reverse it just because a patient wanted it reversed, then they need their license pulled. Ultimately the decision and how it made is up to that individual though.

All I can say is your are doing fantastic, wow 45 lbs and you are pre-op. You get that bypass and in no time you are going to be a sexy "Ammariehs Mommy". Kuddos to you on that loss. Keep up that good work.

The Count Down Begins for Boob job :)

I love Tiny, but I am really worried about her. A number of us have walked in her shoes, maybe not the same shoes, but the same situation. Now that my children are adults, I hear from them what I put them through during their growing years. Some of it isn't pretty to listen to, an in my heart I know I should have done things differently, but I was trying to make my life easier at the time. All I could do was tell them how sorry I am and that I was selfish, trying to make my life easier and in doing so trying to give them what they needed. I didn't realize how much damage it did to them. I don't think anyone is putting Tiny down, but trying to be helpful. We don't want her to make the mistakes that many of us have made, we've been there and done that, and the consequences of our actions weren't pretty for our children. I believe most of us are trying to protect her, as we see how much she loves her children, as we loved ours, and just want her to realize those consequences before they become an issue for her. Tiny has always been supportive on the post and in her time of need we all need to be supportive of her. Whatever decision she makes, it is she that has to live with it in the end.

    Acid Reflux

I have taken Omeprazole 20 mg cap twice daily for years, basically since the band, not because I had acid reflux because I don't. (Doctors always ask if I have acid reflux or gerd because I take this medication and I have to say no). I take it because I had to take so much medication when I was diagnosed with dystolic dysfunction that I felt my stomach was a toxic waste dump and all I could imagine was the stomach bubbling . So take it as a precaution and probably always will. Have had H. Pylori, and ulcers in the past (years ago) and I would rather try to prevent it because it isn't fun.

    September Surgeries..

Reading all of the September surgery post and all of you are doing so fantastic with your weight loss. In reading it gives encouragement, whether we exercise (Not) or not you still lose. Keep up the good work ladies and keep posting. Love this sight "September surgeries" as it keeps me motivated.

    rny / sleeve

Aren't people funny, they want the sleeve (which is newer than the band and has even less research done so far) because they don't want their intestines re-arranged, yet they are okay that 2/3's of their stomach will be removed and put into a hazardous waste bag. I had the band, and though I actually didn't have a problem, had I known then what I found out after it slipped (still didn't have a problem)I would have gone with the bypass. At least if the bypass didn't work it can be reversed. As the saying goes "Hindsight is always better than foresight".

    Horror stories?!?

I so totally agree with you. I want to hear/read any informative issues people have with their process, complications, goals, achievements, etc, don't care about their personal life per se. I am 71 and lately have been reading so much petty c..p that I'm thinking this is a forum for a bunch of teenagers. Love your post.
