Pill swallowing and degree of restriction?

Hi JulieT, I just wanted to add that you can buy very good and fairly good tasting liquid vitamins at a health food store. I know my brother swears by them. Just ask someone who works there which brand they think would be best in your situation. I'm sure you can get some good advice from them.

    Hey PRE-Banders...!

I think the thing I'm looking forward to the most is becoming healthier and getting off of some of my meds! Of course, I want new clothes, shoes, coats, more shoes, and buying my clothes at regular stores instead of plus sized stores. My health is my number 1 reason for wanting the surgery though.

    New Here!

Hi Jenn, I'm also from Texas. I have not had surgery and am looking for a good surgeon. I live in the Texas panhandle, so Houston is a long way from me. Anyone have any suggestions?

To Those Who Are Afraid of Band Surgery

I totally agree with you! I am a nurse and have also seen what weight will do to you eventually. I am on so many medications right now I would have to stop and count them to actually tell you how many. I have 3 stents in my arteries, I am borderline diabetic, and I have sleep apnea. Even though I haven't had the surgery at this time, I know it will save me from myself if I get it done. Yes, it is scary, but the alternative is even worse. I've lost 86 lbs on my own, but I am starting to slip already. I don't want to be another statistic for obesity, so I'm very willing to have the surgery done!

    Worst Fears Came To Life

I have to agree with the last post! I know you are totally devistated right now, but you may just have to lose weight more slowly than other people who have been banded. I am a nurse and would love to hear why you are taking the Lupron and if you are going to be on in permanently. You've already lost 10 lbs with the medication, so you will be able to lose more. Try to stay positive and let us know more of what is going on so we can possibly help you.

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

Hello Everyone! I am brand new to this experience, so I need lots of info from everyone. I haven't had surgery, but I would like to soon, so I would love suggestions on choosing a doc. There is no one here in Amarillo who does the surgery and either OK City or Dallas are the closest places. I've read some posts on here from some of you that used Dr. Spivak in Houston. Is he really good? :help: :help: :help: :help: :help:
