  1. Hello All,

Haven't Posted in awhile cause I have been very busy... So three weeks post-op Today, down roughly 20lbs which is very exciting... I've been reading that some people have been having issus with food... I have been the exact opposite. I have been eating everything... Pasta, rice and bread without any problems. I somtimes forget that I've had surgery because I am feeling so well, I find it really bizzare. I too am having issues with not being able to drink while I eat. I have always had Water with all my meals. If anyone has any tips for this I would love to hear it.

  2. Hi, I live in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. I have been sitting on the fence for about a year now. I am 44 years old and can easily stand to lose a good 100 pounds.

What should I do first? I am scared if I go see my doctor, she will try to discourage me from doing this.

    And advice would be appreciated.

In Alberta you have to go through the Weight Wise clinic through the Royal Alex... Its covered by Alberta Health but the weight list is rouhgly 2-3 years, I was referred Jan 09... my assesment was scheduled for June 10, surgery woul dhave have 1-2 years after assesment.

I decided not to wait any longer and am flying to Toronto... Doing the self-pay thing.

If you want to stay in Alberta get referred ASAP.

  3. Thanks Finding me!... The Price does include all the fills if I could go to the Clinic in Toronto... But I live in Alberta so they have teamed up with a Dr. here... I heard the Dr. only charges $75 a fill, so its not too bad. Eventually I'm hoping the Government will allow private Dr.'s offices in our Province and they can open a clinic.

  4. Hello All!! I'm from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada... being banded in Mississagua at the Surgical Weight Loss Center by Dr, Mumford on March 30. I am paying the 16 grand out of pocket. My provincal health insurance covers the surgery but only allows 25 surgeries per year per surgeon, so the wait list is over two years. Hence the reason I decided to take the plunge, fly over 3 hours and pay the large sum.... But this will change my life for the better so it is al worth it. I am nervous and excited and would like to gather as much info for all of you as I can.
