  1. I have experienced some pain when bending over, but mainly if I flip on my tummy at night or lay on my right side. I just assumed it is because I am so big that they had to cut deeper. I wish I had suggestions on how to make it stop for you, but I can't figure it out.
  2. I was banded April 8th by Dr. Robert "Bud" Thompson at Park Plaza Medical Center Houston. I live about 50 miles south of Houston. Nice to meet all of ya'll!!

    What to expect?!?!?!

I didn't have to do a sleep test but it seems like a lot of people do. I don't understand why they make you do a sleep study and want to put people on CPap and Bipap machines when losing the weight usually helps in the long run.

    What to expect?!?!?!

I had my surgery 4/8 and I had to go through a 6 month pre-requisite for insurance. My doctor did not have any pre-requisites, but due to having a high BMI and worried about my liver being to fat, I did start drinking more water. All went smooth with my surgery other than I had a difficult time coming out of the anesthesia. The day of surgery was a whirlwind of emotion, but never once did I second guess my decision. If there is anything I can do to help just message me or email me. Good Luck on your journey!!
  6. I am glad to hear from you, I haven't been on the computer much. I am still a little sore but for the most part doing very good. I am not hungry very much but when I am I have a shake. How are you doing on the shakes?

  7. I thought I would stop by and check on you to see how your doing. I am feeling pretty good, and did it all without pain meds :o! What are you having troubles with if anything? Maybe we can help each other through!

    Looking for May Bandsters

Hey guys!!! Checking in for the 1st time since surgery. Surgery went great, but I had a hard time coming out of the anesthesia. Today is the first day I have felt like doing anything. My main problem has been I am allergic to most pain killers that they send you home with, so I came home with no pain killers. It has been easier to sleep than deal with the discomfort. I did get out and walk today and felt so much better. I am telling you, I know it is going to be worth it. It is a difficult journey but we can and we will do this. We have each other and the support that we can give each other will help us through!!

Checking in first time since surgery. The surgery went well, I just had a hard time coming out of the anesthesia. Today is the first day I have really felt like doing anything. I do well with the liquid diet until someone else in the house starts cooking, then I feel hungry. I hope all is going well with everybody! It is worth it and we can do this!!

    Easter Sunday

Today is Easter, I day to remember what Jesus did for us. I know that I have prayed and prayed asking for guidance on this journey. I have never blogged before, so this is new to me. But, I decieded to try and blog about my weightloss. I know reading other peoples blogs have helped me to understand more about the lapband and what I will be going through. My surgery is 4 days away! Wow only 4 days. Pre-op diet is only 2 days of liquids prior to surgery, but I am worried about my liver being to fatty so I plan on starting it tomorrow.

Do any of you have people in your life that you feel might sabotage your weightloss? I don't mean that they will do it on purpose but they still have an effect on offering you something that you shouldn't eat or they will be the one to say "come on and eat this brownie, you want be able to after your surgery". I work with several people like this, we are very close at my job, but it is so upsetting that I just want to take the next 2 days off it is my pre-op complete liquids that the surgeon requires. How do I handle this? Help any suggestions are welcomed!!

I am so glad to have found all of you!!! Congratulations to all of you that have already had surgery, and good luck to all of you that will be having it soon. My surgery is scheduled for the 8th! It seems like all of us have a lot of the same fears and the same excitement. Thank you for allowing me to become apart of the April Bandster Bunnies!!
  17. Oh how special. How old are your daughters? I have had a very hard time with the pre-op. It is hard trying to do so many liquids and shakes. Our tummy's are still the same size, and still want to be full. I am so glad that the lap-band is a tool to help a person to feel full. I know how to eat right and how to eat healthy, I just let myself go. I feel like this is a 2nd chance. What are you doing for your pre-op program? Also, I am here for you also, and will do anything I can to help!

  18. How are you feeling? Did you go back to work today?

I am trying to prepare myself for the days of nothing but liquids, but I know that it will be a very trying time. I have to do the clear liquids for 3 days so I have to amp up the willpower, and I am sending some to all of you as well :smile2:
  20. Nice to meet you Dee. That is amazing you already have a date, congratulations! I am still learning everyday about the surgery and the does and don'ts. My surgery will be this Thursday, I am very excited. I have found alot of support from the online groups, and they seem to understand you when others don't. Like myself you have a high bmi, but you know what it's ok, we can and we will do this.

  22. Hi Stacey,

Well did you get it? I can not believe you have to go back to work tomorrow. I am sorry I am late responding to you, I would like to have been able to cheer you on! My surgery is on the 8th. I haven't been doing very well on the pre-op, but my doc only requires liquid 2 days prior to surgery. I have been over 300 lbs for years, I can't wait to be under the 300 mark. I only live about an hour from you, where was you surgery? Mine will be at Park Plaza Hospital in Houston. I am getting not really nervous, but excited. I am so ready, I just want to be healthy. Please let me know how things went with you. I am glad we have "met", its nice to have someone to relate to.
