  1. Went for my first fill at the hospital. The doctor was able to inject Fluid for my fill, but could not get any back. Since this was this done at the hospital they were able to verify the fill in the band and the upper GI showed I was fairly tight. Has this happened to anyone? I was told if I am too tight they will have to disconnect the port from the tubing and remove the fill :)

  2. Congrats on your awsome loss so far. I was banded on 3/22/10 and had my 7 week f/u this week (no fill so far). My dr. told me he would not do a fill this I am eating more than 1/3 of what I did pre band and start to gain weight. I asked if there are people that never need a fill and was told sometimes it might be 1-2 years out. Good luck and keep up the good work

  3. I had a breast reduction 3 years ago and would do it all over again. Just remember it is a major surgery and takes a while to recover. The only problem I have is non-sensation on one side of my breast (not the nipple, just the skin). The physician that did my reduction actually wrote a book "When more is less" by Dr. Bethanne Snodgrass. I would highly recommend it; it even has a section on submitting to insurance and how to deal with appeals.

  4. I was hoping to go home Monday night. Just my luck nothing seems to go perfect. The doctor said everything was picture perfect. I was so swollen after the band the barium couln't pass with the UGI. Ended up in the hospital till Wednaday. Home now still taking pain meds, gas strips and colace. Haven't been able to drink much more than 4-6 oz of choclate milk at a time. Hoping the doctor will be able to tell me more at my post-op check next Wednesday.

  5. Yeah!! I just got my approval letter in the mail and have my date March 22nd..... but the letter only states I was approved for 1 fill. Is this something normal or am I going to have to pay out of pocket for any additional fills. I did not see anything in the policy re: fills :)
