I came home and had 3 cruskits with low fat cheese spread , it was so much better than having yogurt, I like Yogurt BUT after 2 weeks I wanted a change.... FOR dinner I managed 1/4 salmon fillet ,1 potato 4 asparagus spears a spoon of Quinoa (instead of rice) and am as full as a goog, a bread and butter plate and I couldn`t finish it ....I was so looking forward to it real food after 5 weeks and thought I could demolish the lot no problems ...But thats great proves to me the band is working even though I don`t have a fill yet.. I am Booked for Tuesday 6th April (Easter Tuesday) for my first fill............3 weeks ... 6. Thanks babsy ...I was just as excited to go onto Mushies too but after 2 weeks was glad to get off them again and onto the real stuff.. :smile2: I blended everything spag.Bol and Pasta ...chicken and baked potato, Beans and Gravy .. Curried chicken veggies and rice...(just a samll bowl) it was so nice after all the sweet stuff , had Soup for lunch and porridge for breakie....It looked YUCK !! just like baby food but it tasted just like I was eating the real stuff.... Tonight I had a chicken thigh fillet dry pan fried a scoop of mashed potato with sweet potato, small spoon of Quinoa, a bit of broccoli and carrots with gravy (enough that fits on a bread and butter plate) , My hubby had the same only lots more on a big plate he was finished while I was only half way through :tongue2: eating slow, small mouthfuls and chewing well I have had no pain or problems...Havent tried bread yet will try a piece of toast tomorrow night with baked beans or mabe a half a muffin toasted .. I don`t cook Wednesdays is a easy night and everyone maked toasted sandwiches for themselves:thumbup: Hope you enjoy your Mushie days , Keep up the good work ... Night from me its late and I need my beauty sleep....
  7. Oh ! yes I was extreamly happy to have ameal like the rest of the family , I was a bit dissapointed I couldn`t eat it all after looking forward to it , BUT I was also happy to discover the band is actually there and I was FULL ...I have had no problems whatsoever in eating the mushies and felt I didn`t even have a band but I discovered I DO... I am sorry your having a tough time with mushies ...maybe you had a lot of swelling after the operation and its taking time to reseed....Just be patient and do exactly as your doctor/dietitian says.... At least the weight is coming off , you are doing GREAT.... Marion:thumbup:

    How Do I Get Surgery?

I am not from the USA so I don`t know anything about your medical system ...But I just wanted to wish you luck with your Quest , I hope you can get the help and support you need .... Take care and don`t give up.... Marion
  11. Hello !! Wow !! I would be on tender hooks waiting also, I have my fingers crossed that you get the banding O.K .... Its great to have a supportive partner , mine is too...I also am not telling anyone other than my immeadiate family.. The operation is not done in the public system in Australia but Privately so you need to be in a Health Fund and its quite easy to have the proceedure if you are over weight , I went to a seminar booked an appointment with my local doctor got a referal to the surgeon who sends you to the dietitian then see`s you I was booked for surgery at that first appointment for 9 days later , as I am 62 I needed to get checked by the anethesiologist which I did and got the o.k and all went ahead.. The only thing the surgeon required from my doctor was my history (17yrs struggling with obesity, High B.P ...on meds...depression ...on meds) and I was lucky my doctor agreed it was the next step as I had been battling long enough and getting no where... Sorry I can`t help with Blogging ...I am a technical Dummy.. Hopefully someone will come along to help you out.. Once again GOOD LUCK and keep us posted.... Marion

    Does anyone have a MIDband?

I just saw my doctor today and he has done 2 MID Bands .... But is going to France soon to learn more about them ..... But I am in NSW I am sure you will find a doctor near to where you are .....
  16. I am a avid reader and wondered if anyone here had read my favorite series (Author) The Crosstitch /Outlander series .... http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/g/diana-gabaldon/ Its tha absolute BEST .. I have just finished re reading it before I read the latest book Echo in The Bone..... My next Favorite Author and series is.. Sara Donati`s The Wilderness series .. http://www.saralaughs.com/ I am going to re read the complete series before I read her new book in the collection ...The Endless Forest.... I am off to my sons to have a BBQ (or not to have a BBQ but thats what everyone else will be doing ) I will play with my 2 grand-daughters and eat yogurt..:frown: Have a great weekend all..............:frown:
  17. I had to stop taking asprin a week before surgery , you may be required to do this also, a check would no doubt be made by your surgeon if this would cause you any harm... Best of Luck.. I doubt the other injuries would stop the banding as they would be all healed ....

    Determined to not fail!

Good Luck on your journey , great attitude I wish you well...I am just starting my journey and so far no problems at all.... Marion
  19. What a wonderful story , and thanks for coming back with your success.... I have just started my journey and love to read how this proceedure has changed lives.... WELL DONE....
  20. I did it for 9 days , because the surgeon had a early opening and he didn`t feel it would be a problem for me not to do the full 14 days ......It was tough but I got through it o.k and even lost a few kilo`s to kick start my journey......
  21. It is tough but well worth it ..are you able to have some green veggies ?? some salad and fruits ?? as well as diet jellies ..?? along with the Optifast ?? I was and managed o.k.... Hang in its worth it .... Best of luck .. Marion
  22. I too was banded quite quickly But I went to a seminar did rersearch months before I saw the surgeon , when I saw him I was book in 9 days later so only had to be on the pre op Optifast diet for 9 days , he said he wasn`t worried about me as I was in pretty good health non drinker so felt my liver would not be a problem... I have had no problems what so ever , no pain after the op only a sore tummy for a few days felt tired and slept a lot , had one week on fluids (soups/optifast/jellies) but this didn`t worry me at all, then the past 2 weeks I have been on blended foods , I basically just blended whatever food I cooked the family for dinner and ate a small bowl (baby food)..spaghetti Bol with pasta/curried chicken and rice/roast chicken, potato, sweet potato, Beans with Gravy/stew...Just had to have plenty of liquid(gravy/juice) to blend it with ..I also had Soups (no lumps) low fat yoguart/porridge for Breakfast....I am off to the dietitian tomorrow and hopefully I can have real food and chew it even if only small portions, she told me once I go onto eating normally mostt everything is fine , some people have a problem with rice, white bread but this can be over come by toasting the bread or having multi grain bread (which we do anyway).... Its not easy but its certainly doable and very much worth while especially as the kilo`s / pounds come off... Best of luck with your decision...I hope you have a problem free journey.... Marion
  23. Thankyou , yes they are very cute girls and I will love to be able to do more with them as the weight comes off... Bed time here our weekend is over , just having a quick look before I head off to catch some Zzzzzzzz`s.... Enjoy your Sunday ... Marion
  24. Well both those series have PLENTY of ROMANCE and adventure , you won`t be able to put them down..... Visited my Grandkids Yesterday....... Had a wonderful Day everyone enjoyed the BBQ and I enjoyed my Yogart and playing with the girls.... Madelyn... Genevieve.. and both of them with their neighbour friend Roselee... Theyare growing up fast..... Hope everyone is having a nice weekend ... I am off to play with my fids (Feathered Kids) this Sunday afternoon....
  25. Cindy if you love the Outlander you will Love Sara Donati`s Into The Wilderness series ...very much the same style ................ I too am in Love with Jamie...have you read the last book ??? So many Cliff hangers I hate to think of waiting years for the next one.... :frown:
