    Losing the Band...

I had my band removed and replaced due to slippage about 1 1/2 years ago. It was less painful and easier than the original surgery. If money is not too big of an issue I would go for it. Looks like you're doing well with restricition.

    Ask Dr. Schulman...

Wondering if you have heard of the new Body Tite liposuction procedure that works on radio waves as well as laser lipo? There are several clinics doing trials for FDA approval. I would like to get lipo on my thighs, but I don't want to cause more sagging skin. I don't want to have a thigh lift. I'm fresh out of courage and think that the possiblity of sagging incision lines is just creating a new problem. Do you think that Body Tite is a viable option for bariatric patients. Is there an alternative for someone who doesn't want to under go another surgery?

Wishing you the best. Have enjoyed lurking on this thread. You're going to love the flatlands!
  5. Hi Ghost! Nice to hear that a fellow September bandster is doing well. I remember your tt adventures as well as my own. Glad they're over and life is going well. I still think that having a TT was one of the best decisions I ever made for my body image. Hope you get some rest and glad you're doing well!

    Ask Dr. Schulman...

Hi Dr. Schulman: I'm wondering if you have heard of French liposuction? There is a local doctor advertising that he is now doing the latest technique in liposuction. The French Liposuction. I'm googled the term and can't find much. It's probably some kind of come on?

    Ask Dr. Schulman...

Dr. Schulman: I was visiting with a girlfriend lately and telling her how sore my pecks were from doing chest flys (8 pound weight, straight arms going from middle of chest and opening out to the back). My friend said that people with breast implants shouldn't do chest flys. Is this true? Are there exercises that should be avoided? Thanks.

    OH Juli's Plastic Surgery

Juli: Thanks for the update. Nice picture, you're lookibng hot!
  9. I hope you both heal quickly. God Bless... I have debated about having this surgery. I had difficulty healing from my lower body lift. Just don't know if I can take anymore. I do hate the old inner thighs, but it sounds like a very difficult recovery. I've heard that it's very painful to sit to use the rest room, etc. I will really be interested in how you like your thighs when you're healed and the pain has gone. Please keep me posted. Thanks!

    Oregondaisy's turn for sleeve surgery

Did your doc tell you how much your new stomach would hold or suggest a maximum amount to eat? Or is it all my feel?
  15. Your arms look great. Thanks for sharing your pics!

    Lellow and the Torso Lift

Sounds like you have a great attitude. Thanks for sharing your journery. Wising you the best now and always!
  18. Jacqui: Well said! Lori: Thanks for asking about my band. The band slippage has resolved for the time being. I had a small fill put in this week. I'm experiencing a little nausea since then, but hopefully this will take care of itself. I just feel such relief that I don't need another surgery!
  19. Lori: Is Dr. Saltz doing the revision? I'm sure he'll do a great job. You're young and you have a long time to inhabit your body. You should be comfortable in it and enjoy it. It's okay to want to improve. I'm just saying that people can go to extreme. I would like to have lipo of every little part of me that needs it, and that is the type of thing, I'm talking about. Getting all your excess skin removed and becoming the beautiful you that you are is just wonderful. It's just obsessing about everything that's probably not healthy. Hope that makes sense!

    Ask Dr. Schulman...

What do you use for pain and about how much to do these areas costs (I realize it depends on the amount of product used, just approximately) and would you be doing the injections or a nurse? And lastly, would I just call your office for an appointment? If I use the arnica, go off NSAIDS, stop fish oil, etc, how much bruising could I expect (especially concerned about under the eyes). My son is graduating from medical school (reason for trip to NY) and then we are going to Hawaii for a business meeting. I don't want to be bruised for pictures and social events. Hope I can finally meet you!

    Ask Dr. Schulman...

Dr. Schulman: I just read your May newsletter and I'm very intrigued by your intra-oral filler injections. I'm going to be in NYC in June and I'm wondering which areas of the face you can do this on. I'm a real bruiser and am very interested in this. Thanks!
  22. Jachut: You are very wise! Even with plastic surgery it's good but perfection is never there. I have had to realize that I'm never going to have the body of a firm, supple young women. I can only be the best that I can be where I am now. I'm really not happy with the scars on my underarms and I still have numbness on my right thigh and now I have lymphedema (pitting edema) in my thighs down to below my knees. I'm very happy with my flat stomach and perky girls, but I probably should have stopped there. I'm still not at peace with my body, but I'm working on it. I've come to realize that there are very few perfect bodies. Excess skin can ruin the body hiding underneath, but once that is removed, you need to make friends with your new body and be thankful for all that you are! That is a very hard earned concept!
