    eating utensils

I found a one egg frying pan at Meijer. It's the cutest little frying pan and literally cooks one egg. I found a whisk that is small as well as a spatula. It literally makes it feel like there is so much in that pan. I did find some Onida flatware for toddlers on Amazon.com and it was about 14.00 a setting. It's got the fork, knife and spoon. Just thought i would share what my progress was in the utensils department. Now just in search of some really awesome receipes to cook in my new little pan.

    eating utensils

Before my surgery which was a week ago Friday, I received a really small spoon in a hospital gift bag along with some other things. My question is....do any of you use smaller eating utensils? Smaller dishes? Does it help you with being more realistic with portion sizes? I've searched for smaller utensils and unless i want baby utensils I cannot find any. If you use them is there any resources maybe online? Thanks in advance for your help:smile2:

    Did I stretch my pouch?

meats are on my post op diet too and i'm 3 weeks out. On my list are chicken breast, turkey breast, pork chop, pork loin, pork roast, ground beef...etc I was told by the dietitian they are fine but should be chewed very well. I've had no trouble eating them. And...i've had the same concerns about stretch my stomach...newbie fears here too. *cheers for the 3 weeks out!
  4. I had this really horrible dream that the sutures broke lose around my. I could feel them go "pop pop pop" lol I know that is really silly, or not but can that happen? I'm three weeks out from my surgery and I think my brain is overload thinking of the "what if's" Give a newbie some advice? I am a worry wart right thinking I'll "break" my band or over eat on something because i don't have much restriction and something will happen. Is it normal to be so tired...

I'm about two and a half weeks out and i'm really tired a lot too. If I go out to the grocery store or anything when I come home I just collaps and take a nap. My doctors nurse told me to be easy on myself and to expect to be tired for a bit at least six weeks out to give things time to heal and go back into place. So I feel what you are saying. Those words she said stuck in my head though, to give myself a break so i have been. :cursing:

    Fill #3 Today!!!

    Good luck today Todd! YAY
  7. Feeling hungry between my 2oz meals! I kind of pushed the rules a little bit and add a little more to the plate after I've digested for at least 15 min. I hate this hungry between meals thing. I'm sure on my first fill on the 22nd things will be better. I also get this little crunchy craving at night so i've been chewing on a bit saltine tiny bites at a time. Has this happened to you?

    eating utensils

I've always been a fast eater...i hate that and trying so hard to work on it. I hope these help me. I found some that don't look so child like. It feels good to know some of you have gone through this too. I did find some pretty plates that are china. It does make you feel better to have something nice to eat on instead of those little one once plastic cups. I do measure everything because i don't want to get anything stuck by eating too much. That scares me lol. You all sound so organized but i'm only a week out of surgery so I know it will come in time. I just don't want any medical problems.....and i'm so afraid that this knot under my port is a hernia...different thread lol. Thanks you guys very much for this.....the support here is great!

    hernia surgery after lap-band

I have a knot below my port site i just felt this morning. It doesn't really hurt but is annoying. Could this be a hernia? and Are they known to clear up on their own by chance? I hate the thought of going back under the knife! Cries

    Banded Installed 1/27

Your situation sounds so much like mine. I wasn't hugely excited and people asked me that too and I told them the same that I was prepared. I also had planned a year in advance for the surgery and did a lot of research. Maybe that's why we feel prepared and not excited lol. Excited I'll be when i'm really losing and feeling good about the losses. Jumping up and down at the next few pounds gone. I had a little anxiety the day before and day of surgery but once it was over I felt good and was up and around pretty easy other than the pain in the tummy incision area. I'm glad to read someone else experience was similar to mine. I take one meal at a time, one hour at a time and one day at a time. Just trying to listen to my new body and try to work on behavior management of my old mind. Will it be perfect? hell no lol. But for today i'm comfortable in my new stomach. Your post was refreshing and actually you made my day! Cheers to healing well and look forward to seeing your progress.
  13. If anyone in this area is considering getting gastric banding or gastric bypass, Dr. Inman is the very best in her field. I checked her background out completely and she is highly recommended in her field. I even spoke to other doctors in the local area for recommendations and you cannot find a better surgeon.
  14. I remember my day too...that is SO exciting. I was dancing happy feet and scared too but you will do awesome!

    Newly Banded....

Tomorrow is my one week mark of my surgery of the Lap Band. I've had a bit of a rough time but not doing too bad. My problem is that I have the familiar old mothers apron which doesn't make recovery easy and gravity is never kind. I've lost about 4 pounds since surgery but I know that a lot is bloating from the surgery. I had lost 57 pounds in the last year before surgery in preparation for the surgery and exercised about five days a week by walking approx 30 minutes each time. I believe this helped me so much in recovery of this procedure. I've had no problem with feeling full with the 2oz per meal and doing my best to keep all the fluids coming in. I had to lay off of the Protein Drinks because of the "gas" factor. First BM was such a relief and I felt like a new person. It had been 5 days since I had one so it was a welcomed event...lol I"m really excited about my new life and I know it will be up and down. I've prepared for well over a year for this time and feel like I've got the tools i need at my fingertips. Scary? yeah sure it was but it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Not at all, in fact i walked into the surgical suite and within a minute i was out and back to my room within an hour and a half. I look forward to sharing and reading things here on the forum. Hope you all have a fantastic day!:smile2:

    Newly Banded....

Does anyone else have this mother's apron and what can you or did you do about it? Also how do you get those cute little weight loss rulers in your comments. Those are nice way to track. Thank you
  18. I was just banded last friday and I was very nervous too. All the way up till the moment i walked into the surgical suite. But when I was being prepped I just prayed that God give me peace that I could handle this and a peaceful calm feeling came over me before I went to sleep. When I woke up from surgery I felt the same...just very peaceful. Maybe this might be good for you but earlier than I asked for some peace. If you rely on that higher power, I think use it. If you don't, then search within and pull from your own strength. Look how far you've come to get to this point! I'm proud of you even though we don't know each other. Look how far you've come
