Hi Gayle, Thanks so much. I pretty much figured that is what it was. It was really horrifying, since I've never had an acid reflex issue -- ever!!! As it turns out, I kept an empty tummy for almost the entire day. I woke up and went for a hair cut, came home and had a granola bar. I keep crunchies in well. So after that; we took off on a trip into the city to see Jersey Boys...with dinner after. AMAZING resturant, with amazing food. All the appetizers were family style so I was able to pick and choose pretty well. I did some cheeses, some italian cold cuts, a little bit of fried calamari. Didn't stuff myself. Then came dinner. I did the filet mignon - and it was HUGE. So, I cut off about 1/3 of it, ate most, b/c at this point I was feeling full. The rest is now in my fridge, for my lunch on Monday at work. So now, I'm having a bottle of Water. I'm only going to take my night time meds - and that's it. I'll save my Vitamins for the a.m. And I'm going to remain 'upright' for at least an hour. That reflex was a horrible thing. For those who suffer with it on a regular basis - I feel so bad for you. And going forward, I'm going to do everything to avoid it. I should have known better - but again, another learning experience with my band. Sheri

Sunshine....I just lost it laughing. I know it's not funny at the time; but looking back...give yourself a giggle! It's all a learning curve. To me, a PB is easier than a slime. I've slimed for upwards of over an hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get like a faucet! Where do you live, that you're in Amish land???
-
I think I have a 'bad' slime episode once every few weeks now. I have learned how to adjust my eating habits so it doesn't happen more often. As for PBing, I think it really only happened once as a reflux. The other times it happend - maybe 4 times - I got a 'puke' feeling, and went to the bathroom and up it came.

POST surgery, I was always warm. No socks to bed, just a sheet - no blankets, etc. Now? I'm ALWAYS cold. I even have my heater on during the day at work. At first, I could understand it was anesthesia after math. Anyone else experience this?

I never was one to go for the chocolate, like I have POST band! It's strange - I used to be just a 'monthly' chocolate fan. Now...forget it! But I have to be careful b/c of my blood sugars. And sugar free chocolate is for the birds.

Cherlita - YOU ARE THE BOMB with this! I love it! THIS is going to be fun!

Hey all... I had NO candy on Halloween. I had a piece today; everyone from work brought in their leftovers. I had one of the Reeses carmel cups - Just wanted to try it - and I did. Was it worth it - definately not. Yikes. Been getting 'cravings' though. Eggplant rolatini is the latest.

Congratulations! I know how exciting it is to get the 'news'! Jump, dance, run in circles! Your life is about to change for the good!!!

Definately sounds like an inflammatory issue - to me. Just do liquids for the next day or so; see if that helps. And ice pops! sugar free, of course.

Crishell, Your post brought me to TEARS. Thank you for sharing! It's hard to say good bye to the old 'stand byes'. Those clothes that covered us up; helped us believe we were looking fine in them. They're a comfort to us. But now, buying size 16 instead of my pre-band size 22's - still doesn't always sink in. I too have held up those "New Years Eve Jeans" that I shook my ass in last year. GOOD GOD - they could cover a VW Bug! Not to say they didn't look good; as I've always kept a good appearance. But man…someone LIED to me when I asked "Do these make me look fat"? I can't blame my friends and or family for not 'telling me'. Because - they did. In one way or another - they were telling me for years. How many times I heard that 'You're such a beautiful girl, you should loose a little weight'. We've ALL heard that before. As far as cleaning out my 'fat' clothes…I have clung to some; just the same as I have clung to my 'skinny' clothes - same idea. It's always good to have a reminder of 'where we came from'. The only difference is that I'm looking to revisit the skinny; not the fat! Again, congratulations on your extreme success.

I gurgle alot. I was concerned that this was a relflex that is bad/harmful. Apparently it is not; it's quite normal. However, there is a reflex (acidic) that can be harmful. Just know the difference. Never go to bed within an hour of eating something. I also learned to have a good cup of Water or so before bed; just to be sure all food is flushed, or can be flushed. I excuse my gurgles as my 'stomach growling'. Sometimes I get annoyed with the sound; as much as I want to just blow it off.

Hey all, I'm at my 9 month Bandiversary today! Thanks Sunshine...for getting me to this new post instead of the old longer one!! My journey has been relatively 'boring'. My weight loss is slow; but steady. The changes in my body are amazing; as far as the shape. Not until THIS WEEK have I truly seen any change (that's why I posted in the Before/After section) for myself. I didn't sweat like a hog this past summer (A sure tell tale sign of weight loss!). I don't huff. I don't snore. I'm on my 4th fill; and it's terrific. Went for Japanese hibachi this past weekend, and I said it outloud to my DB "The band is stopping me!" - when I left MOST food on my plate. There really haven't been any 'down sides' at all. If anything - it's been emotional for me. Still not 'getting it' when just three shrimp can fill me full! So glad to still have support on this forum. And I love that I can now give advice, as well as recieve - my payback to band society!!! :whoo:

Hey all... I just posted some pics on the before/after thread. Just figured I'd share with my fellow january bandsters.

I had my fourth fill this a.m. at 8:00. I'm now OVER full in my 10cc band. Of course I didn't eat before the fill. Anyway, my tummy is GROWLING now. Rarely does it growl; I'm not usually feeling hunger. Anyway, I had some soup/clear chicken broth - HOME MADE by Mom! Yummmm!

Does anyone else feel a little 'scared' to eat after a fill? I know I do! I'm afraid I'm going to choke, or find that I can't get anything down. The liquid went down fine. Tomorrow the mushies will be the scarier part.

I took a picture of the flouroscopy. I'm so proud! lol

LJM... I was on vacation when you returned. So glad you're back! Regardless of any gain - you are still a huge sucess and inspiration! :clap2:

Thanks everyone! I guess I'm just so filled now (I have the large band, with 10.2 cc in it already) that I'm afraid if I add more I'll be closed up. But from what I'm understanding, it's now that I don't get so much a fill, as I do a 'tweak' to my current fill. Yes, something like .2, a teeeny tiny amount could do the trick. I think I'd love to eat only 1/4 cup at a time. But as stated; I may not be programmed that way. We shall see... So Yes, I've decided to go forward with it tomorrow.

Hey all. I'm scheduled for my next fill this Thursday. My last was August 31. Since then, I've lost about 6 pounds. I do have 'good restriction' right now, but I still think I could eat more than 1 cup at a time (I actually HAVE). I'm really, really concerned whether or not to get this next fill. I mean, I'm now at the point where I'm not sure how to gauge my restriction. To me, its enough to stop me from over eating. That is the point. But I still think it could be tweaked a bit to restrict me down to that 1/4 - 1/2 cup then saiety. I haven't had many stuck episodes, just one PB. I'm a slow looser. I guess I'm terrified of being over filled. As it is, my band ALWAYS talks to me when I'm eating; a gurgling. I thought it was reflex at first...but I don't have any burning, etc. Any opinions?:help:

All these months later, and I'd never know I have a port - can sleep on my side, bend, have my full range of motion, etc. However…everyone once in a blue…I'll cough, or sneeze or move a certain way - and I feel almost a 'hot pinch'. ***and if i've 'grazed', I notice a pure pressure sensation. Anyone else? Thoughts?

I'm heading out for my FIRST vacation since being banded. I've had weekend trips here and there - but I don't count that. This is 9 days away. We're going back to Grand Cayman (my favorite place in the world). They have a whole host of amazing, amazing resturants. Out the door goes the all you can eat lobster. But...so what - I'd rather have one less chin, than one more lobster.
-
Nope; no lobster - as I knew it would be a waste of $$$ considering how expensive it is down there. I did eat for dinners: Cracked Conch (appetizer) Mahi Mahi Sashimi; twice!!! salad w/chicken pizza...yup. Well, I tried. I had 1.5 pieces of a 12" pie. Scallops So I had some good stuff.
-
I arrived back home about 1 a.m. last night. Grand Cayman was terrific (as it always is)! The food - was even more enjoyable with the band, believe it or not! I guess b/c I have a better appreciation. I just don't know. Anyway, weighed in this a.m. - and I am showing a 2 pound weight LOSS. Yup, and I am PROUD! The only thing I did do which isn't so great - is have my 'crunchies' every day. Each night before dinner, I'd snack on chips and dip, tortilla chips, etc. And I also did NOT drink all of my Water each day. So...I wasn't a perfect bandster by far. But I held my own!!!
-
Sneaking suspicion tells me that I will have the lobster!
