  1. My moment was when I went saturday shopping with all my "skinny" friends and realized that now I do not have to wathc and hold THEIR bags when they go to try on clothes...I too am in the dressing room trying on the SAME clothes they are trying on.

And damn if I don't look better!!!!! hehehehee

Now they ask me for MY fashion tips!

  2. The first thing I do is STRECH and do deep breaths! It seems to always help me get more air in. My other key is that I always carry Papaya Enzyme tablest. They are chewable and 3 or 4 work fast for relief. They even work on heartburn/indigestion. I get them at Wal-Mart.

You know this is the 2nd time I'v heard of these papaya enzyme tablets. I will have to pick some up and take with me on my next trip just in case.

    Thanks for the info!!

  3. I just wanted to share with you all my experience with severe nausea and acid reflux.

I was banded Jan 2010. But I was recently having the symptoms of severe nausea after I would eat anything and at night I would have very bad acid reflux. This is something I have never experienced before. So after toying with this and downing bottles of antiacids for a month I finally went to my lapdoc and he simply said this means I put too much in my fill. He removed some and it was the difference of night and day! It worked!!

So if any of you are experiencing this same thing you may be overfilled. Ask your doctor to remove a little and see if this works for you too. ;)

  4. I had an obstruction while I was out of town on business. I suffered in a meeting for 4 hours!! I was having to leave the meeting to go to the bathroom to spit up the "slimes" It was an absolute disaster until I was standing in the bathroom stall and was trying to hold back the tears so I started taking really deap breaths. I kept this up for a few minutes until I noticed I didn't feel the pain of the obstruction any longer!

I went back to the meeting and was feeling better. It was very strange. I was able to take sips of Water because by now I was extremely dehydrated. I continued taking the deep deep breaths.

And wouldn't you know it....I was able to eat fish and mashed potatoes when we went out for dinner that evening!!!

I had a 2nd obstruction a couple of months later and thought I would try the deep breaths again and IT WORKED AGAIN!

So if you ever find yourself in this same situation try taking deep deep breaths filling your lungs completely and exhaling.

It just may work for you too!

I'm not a doctor and a doctor did not tell me to do this. I am just one bandster sharing my info with another bandster.

    Good luck!

  5. Hello. Well, I went for the Flouroscope and you were right it was cool to see how it works. But it really hurt alot! He was pressing down to try and get the thing to at least turn sideways. Right now it is completely turned the opposite direction. At one point I thought he had stuck an organ it hurt so much!

Anyways, he filled me with 2.5cc in my 10cc band and after all of this trauma I never felt any restriction. He said...see you next month when we do this all over again!!!

I'm still holding on that this thing turns around and I do not have to keep having Flouroscopys.

  6. I knew something was wrong with my port right after surgery I turned too quick and I felt a burning inside where the port was stationed.

I went in for my 1st fill last Thurs and the doctor bent 3 needles before he realized he could not find it. 2 days later I was taken the hospital/ radiology for a Floroscopy.

And the darn thing was completely facing the opposite direction. My doctor pressed down on my stomach and was able to make it flip sideways and he was able to do a 2.5 cc fill in a 10 cc band.

I am most upset because I have never had any restriction following this ordeal!!!

Oh well, I'm hoping for restriction next month when I go back for another fill.

  7. I got my 1st fill last Thursday. 2.5cc in a 10cc band. I can eat anything. I am so frustrated! I wish I could get some restriction.

I know this is almost a week ago. I hope you are feeling better now.

For me, I am just trying to diet as if I did not have the band on at all. Sucks since I spent so much money on this darn thing. Oh well. Maybe one day I will get my "sweet spot"

  8. I am really nervous. I was so excited to go for my 1st fill just to be let down because my Doctor could not locate the port hole. Now I have to wait 2 days to go have a Fluoro..something-or-nother at the HOSTIPAL!!!

After reading other post, my biggest fear is that it has completely twisted around I will have to have surgery again to get it fixed.

Has anyone else ever had this problem? :)
