Yesterday I checked in the hospital at 5:30am and didn't get called back until 10:30am. I waited in the back until 12:00pm, but finally I was in surgery and wow I can't believe I did it! I was allowed to leave the hospital yesterday if I was feeling good so I ended up getting home at 8:30pm. What a long day! My hubby was grumpy through all the waiting so early in the day I sent him to my moms for a nap, he was alot happier when he came back. I felt really well yesterday, I was able to burp if I walked around so I did lots of walking. Since I am home now I had to wake myself up every three hours for a walk and drink and pee, dr.s orders. Today I am sore, like I have been in a car accident, everything hurts, achey pain. The soreness in my chest feels alot like plurasy and it is hard to remember to take deep breaths so my hubby keeps reminding me. But seriously this is not bad at all, I thought it would be alot worse. The meds help, i.e. my rambling, and walking makes me feel better. To all you who are about to go into surgery: Be Nice to the anesthesiologist he/she is very important and they can make things alot easier. Good Luck everyone!:biggrin:Hello there I'm having mine 2/19 I'm so ready. The one thing that I'm worried about is gas I have always had problems with it after surgerys I will take your advice walk, walk, walk. I have to be there at 6:00am I hope I don't have to wait that long. Glad your doing ok other than being sore, I will keep in touch in case I need some advice

Hi There-First off do look for teh support group for those banding in Feb 2010 - just scroll down you'll find it. So, very, very helpful to get adfvice and share with those at the same level as you.
I had surgery dec 15th you can see by my ticker when i started the process i was 378, i'm proud to say I'm almost down 50lbs and its just been so great. Just a little more than half that loss is post op.
There is also a mentor/buddy thread on here with great wonderful folks who have been in your shoes.
Keep coming back and check out those success stories, it so reassuring to 'talk' with others. There is also a chat room which I have been in a couple of times to ask questions I needed answers to righ now!
Good luck in your journey.

Hello Michele, This is going to be a life style change for all of us. It will be hard giving up some of the foods that I love but if it means being able to tie my shoes, walking my dogs, buying fat cloths (size24) it will be worth it all. Just to feel good & to be happy with myself I can't wait. My husband & myself just bought a camper & I can't wait to go out & enjoy the great out doors....Thanks everyone for your great support & being there, keep in touch

Hello Nikki,
Just hang in there girl as each day goes on it gets better, the first couple of days I wasn't sure if I made the right choice. I was banded 2/19 I'm feeling great had a lot of problems with gas, gas, gas it was bad. How are you feeling now? Take a little pain medicine see if that helps. I'm 2 weeks out & went walking with my husband & dogs not to far. My stomach above my belly buttom is still a little sore I have a 2 inch cut there my port doesn't bother me at all. If you are not feeling better each day call the doctor & see what he has to say. No diarrhea I did at first & I would get it after my Protein Drinks, but now I'm fine go to the bathroom about every 3 days. We just have to remember that this is a life style change & I don't want to be fat anymore. Keep in touch if you want to e-mail me personal for support I will try & help you band sister. Be strong & it does get better
