  1. I think when your bigger, you seem to gravitate to other big people as friends ... so whehter its jealousy or just that your becoming different then them , they tend to pull away. I had a gf that said that since i lost weight i think im better then everyone else and i talk and act different and wanted nothing more to do with me... my true friends told me that the only way im different is that im more willing to be outgoing and im more confident. Probally bc she was unwilling to be that way.. it intimidated her, all that on top of jealousy.... ended that friendship. It sucks but you gotta think its all for the better, because if thats how they want to be, they werent a true friend anyway. True friends support you no matter what or how you change.

  2. hey all .. glad to see this thread.. ive been debating this issue myself.. ive lost 220 lbs so far.. weighing in at 190. really never saw myself this small before.. i mean i weighed over 200lbs at age 9 .. so this is the smallest ive ever been .. my doc is really talking about me getting 160 or less.. frankly.. im content if i could have my skin removal surgery.. thats the only thing that makes me unhappy.. but part of me is still fighting to get to 160 before i have the surgery.. im 5ft7 and very muscular.. i guess part of me figures.. ive lost 220 already .. why not another 30.... how do u know what size is right for u.. if youve never been there?

  3. so many ppl have told me since i was young i wouldnt have an issue with excess skin... liars. i am only 24 .. but ive been over 200lbs since i was 9 yrs old.. and i dont care how young you are... when you lose 215lbs.... ur bound to have some excess... ive exercised and weight trained at least 3 times a week , since i had surgery.. im sure its helped alot.. but ima still face the knife

  4. I was banded Dec 14th 2005.

As for skin.. being younger helps.. but ive been fat .. forever lol .. i weight the same now as i did when i was 9 yrs old... i do have extra skin on my arms and tummy.. but nothing too gross.. i try to bulk up muscle wise to help everything..and works for arms.. tummy... still having issues though.

  5. Been awhile since ive been on here.. saw a few people in here getting banding in a couple days .. or were just banded.. wanted to wish you all good luck!!!

I am 23.. turning 24 this summer.. planning on hitting goal by the end of summer and being in a string bikini by my 25th bday!!! lol.

  6. I have only had one fill and I am hungry all the time I tried eating 3 meals a day but am having a hard time with Proteins so my sugar level is all over the place, I hate to say but chocalate kisses have gotta me by plenty of time for a quick fix. The easiest thing I have found to eat is mexcan food which I thought would never happen, I can't eat alot or am into sharing with my bf. I look like a goat grazing when I try to eat chicken chew chew chew. I am going in for another fill because I try to eat 3 meals a day but am so hungry by the time I eat I am eating to fast or not chewing enough and you know what happens then.

with the band since you can only eat small amounts at a time .. i do 6-8 lil meals a day.. never let yourself get hungry, when your hungry your body holds onto fat , because it thinks its starving.. eat more often and that should help alot . good luck!

  7. Ive found that with the band.. theres lots i cant eat.. so i just have to make sure that the ones i can are good ones .. and never even attempt the bad ones. I do get cravings for stuff.. so i go out and fill em and then return to the healthy things again. I do find that i really dont think about food anymore though .. that helps fight off temptations.. because im full of the good stuff, i dont seek out the bad.

  8. the lapband is a tool... not a miracle cure. if your not willing to change urself.. urself will never change.. i had a sis in law who did the same thing, she hated that her band stopped her from eating as much as she wants, so she got it removed and is fatter now then ever.

  9. I think i had the most extensive wardrobe ever. 4 closets, 3 dressers and totes and totes.. and all worthless to me. Anything i felt i could part with went to good will.. and all the expensive lane bryant stuff (like 95 dollar jeans) are stored in bags according to size. lol.

I duno if anyone else feels this way, but when i go shopping for clothes.. i feel like i cant spend much money on things anymore, cuz i wont get to wear them long.. i feel guilty for buying clothes now!

  10. ty all..

Koala, i never really "hit a slump" I lost really slowly first 6 months, but the past 6, have been going faster and faster, im really expecting to hit goal by summer! I lose about 4-5 lbs a week now, which may be a lil fast, but all my blood test and everything come out normal, so, so far so good :grouphug:

With my surgery came a personal trainer, and i used to go to her twice a week, but i moved away from her, so now i kinda do what i can on my own at home with free weights and an exercise ball.

As for the hair.. my hair is insanely thick.. i did lose alot of hair for about a month, but noone noticed but me! In fact it saved me the trouble of paying to have it thinned lol. I was depending only on Protein powder for protein.. those real food Proteins are needed as well to keep ur hair.

I dont really have any "pointers" per se.. cuz i dont really feel like im doing anything any different.... this yr just flew by, so hopefully next yr will too :D

  11. I always tell new guys all about me before and me now and whats gonna be me in the future... i show them before pics and some seem obsessed with what i will look like at goal... those are ones i no longer talk to.

New guy however.. seems interested in helping me make goal...but asking him about it .. he doesnt seem to care what my weight is, long as im healthy and happy... so he seems like a winner, but the thought still lingers.
