    Now approaching Twoderville!

Thank you both for your encouragement!! I know my problem is waiting.........! :bored: I do have restriction the day I get a fill and the day after. So I will wait for more fills to help me the rest of the time. I am eating 3 meals a day but having 2 or 3 snacks too. Yes I have changed the way I eat. No sweets, no breads, no potatoes. Protein, vegs and fruits. And since I'm still starving on just the 3 meals a day I changed my snacks to yogurt, fruit or oatmeal. I was never told how many carbs I am suppose to have daily...just eat lots of protein. I am glad I am on the right track! Losing weight is so much better than gaining. Thanks again for your advice:biggrin:

    April bandsters

Great job everybody!!! I wish I was doing a little better since surgery but I'm hanging in there. I was banded April 5th and have lost 14 lbs since. Lost 29 lbs pre op diet for a total of 43 lbs. I had a few questions for my April bandsters. 1. What has your surgeon said about measuring your food everytime? mine hasn't said anything about that. Only said my band isn't "working" until I hit restriction. 2. Why do some surgeons put in large fills in and some don't ? I have had 3 fills and only have a total of 5cc in my 14cc band.:bored: Pegge~

    Now approaching Twoderville!

Hi ladies, I'm getting discouraged and hoping you guys could help. I started my journey at 392 LBS. To say it aloud is depressing in its self. I was on a liquid diet for 3 weeks prior to my surgery and lost 29 lbs. But since my surgery April 5th I have only lost 14 lbs and I am always starving. I think the only reason I have even lost that is because I exercise 5 days a week. I have a 14cc band and have had 3 fills for a total of 5cc. I go in again next week but don't expect him to give me more than 1cc like last time. I only lose when I'm on liquids or mushies and gain instantly when I add solid Proteins. I also get discourgaed about how much I want to eat and feel like I went through a lot for just another diet w/ no help. Any advice would be appreciated. This is my last option for a healthier life. Thank you, Pegge

    My addiction

Almost 2 months post op........I'm still hungry. Will I ever not be hungry??> 2nd fill done this week......still zero restriction. I have lost 37 Lbs since my pre op diet....but its very hard to maintain and would probably be 0 Lbs if not for working out daily. If only food wasn't on my mind all day:sad:
  7. How is your weight loss coming?

  8. Your weight loss is so inspiring!

  9. Thanks for the food advice!!! I'm basically doing the same high protein/low carb thing. Today 35lbs down after two months! I'm so happy we are losing rather than gaining!

  10. Hi AlaskaGirl 77.

Saw your post on tricare revision post. We are about the same age and weight. I was banded 6wks ago. I am down 33lbs but that is purely from pre op diet. I am going to give it a year and see if this will help enough, if not I'm looking into revision. Are you looking into RNY or the sleeve?

  11. Hi Finallyncontrol!

Seen your posting on the fill forum. I was wondering what you eat on an average day to lose 14lbs a month?

    Thanks,

    Pegge

    April 2010

Hi Rebmommj, Did you get a fill when you saw the NP? I was banded April 5th and get my first fill next Tuesday the 18th.
  13. Congrats!! 80lbs is a wonderful accomplishment! How much do you eat daily and are you exercising daily? I'm only 1mth post op but already have decided exercise is a must for me.
  14. Hi! Is the 12th your post op f/u or fill?.........I need a fill! After getting through all the post op foods, solids are heaven now. Unfortunately I don't need too much heaven cause I don't want to see the scale go up!

  15. Thank you! Why you may ask.............because I'm glad I am not alone. I thought I was the only one feeling like I could eat "normal amounts" after their surgery. I lost 30lbs pre op and already have gained back 4lbs. The only reason I haven't gained more back is due to exercising everyday since 2wks post op. Have you started exercising yet?

As for the large incision, my surgeon told me to right of it was my port. Mine is also sensitive. I get my fill May 18th I hope it feels ok by then. When do you get a fill?....lets hope for major restriction on the first try!!

  16. Hi. I noticed you got banded in April. I did also. Just wanted to check in w/ you and see how your doing w/ your new addition? For 4wks post op I'm a little discouraged. I feel my hunger coming back.........I can't wait to start getting fills!

    Is this a reality?

Good luck w/ your exercise plan. I'm not a big fan of exercising but I gotta do it. I walk the treadmill at the gym at work on lunch time. Its not much but just starting off I feel good about it.

    Is this a reality?

Congrats!!! That is an awesome accomplishment! If you wouldn't mind just sharing what you eat on a daily basis? What foods have you found that makes the weight come off easier? And how much do you exercise daily?..........Thank you for sharing!
  19. I am so grateful for this site! Reading everyones post keeps me in check and reminds me I am not alone. Today is day 3 of my 3 week liquid diet. I have a lot of excess weight to shed so have to shrink that liver! At least thats what I keep reminding myself. The past 3 days have been pretty miserable BUT on a positive note I have lost 13 lbs already :cursing:!
  20. Tricare has been awesome. I used to have Aetna and their list of requirements is long and painful:bored:. Tricare was just a referral from primary physician and a pysch eval. I was approved less than 24 hrs after paperwork was submitted! My surgery is April 5th and I am so excited for this new chapter in my life to begin:thumbup::frown:.
  21. Hello all.... I just got my surgery date for April 5th. I'm very excited and have been very fortunate w/ this process through Tricare. They only thing I am concerned about is the pre op appt w/ the hospital. Guess I am a little nervous they will find something on my EKG or x rays...:sad:Guess I will wait and see. Good luck to all the April Banster Bunnies!
  22. Are you just doing protein shakes for your pre op diet?
