  1. I hit a plateau about 3 months ago and I am still struggling. I have lost 86 lbs. in less than a year without one single fill. So I decided it was time for a fill. My doctor decided to do it under flouroscopy. He put in 3cc and I went home on liquids for a couple of days. The first day was fine, but on the second day I started having trouble getting fluids down. I called the nurse and she said come back in right away.

So they decided to take some of my fill. They took out 1cc, so I'm down to only 2cc. Well, guess what? I can eat anything and as much of it as I want, just like before the fill. Maybe I have a weak constitution, but I need the band to restrict what I eat. If I don't have that, I'm going to eat more. That's why I got the band in the first place. Yeah, maybe years from now I will be trained to eat smaller portions all the time, but for now, I need a tool, re: the band.

I called the doc's office back to schedule another fill and they said it had to be 4 weeks from the last one. So I can't get it until April 20th. I already know that 3cc was too tight, so I'm going to ask for .5cc and see how I do with that. It's not that I am overeating and gaining my weight back, I am just not losing right now and I have 30 more lbs. to go to reach my goal. Wish me luck!

  2. I am slowly getting more and more frustrated. I guess I am spoiled because the first 85 lbs. came off so easily. Now it seems to just have come to a halt. I have gotten lazy and have stopped counting calories, carbs, fats and protein and I just eat whatever my family is eating, just a small portion of it. That worked before, but is obviously not going to work for these last 30 lbs. I have started strength training at the gym, but no, I haven't been at it long enough for it to have put on any muscle yet.

I've been at the same weight for about a month now and I'm getting frustrated. I have got to get motivated to start counting calories, etc. on Sparkpeople.com again. It really helped me before.

Well, I have to get up at the crack of dawn, so I better get in bed. Good night all!

  3. I am about 30 lbs. away from my goal weight, but I eat fruits, veggies, rice, pasta, chicken, beef, seafood and the occasional "bite" of my husband's dessert. I do supplement with protein drinks because I don't eat large portions of meats at each meal. She probably eats that way because she either doesn't like to cook or just doesn't get bored with the same old foods and it is easy. There are some good cookbooks out specifically for Bariatric Surgery patients such as: Before & After by Susan Marie Leach @ www.bariatriceating.com or a local bookstore. It has her story and recipes. Another one is Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery by Patt Levine and Michele Bontempo-Saray @ www.dacapopress.com. My doctor also recommended Dr. Phil's Ultimate Weight Solution Cookbook, found in most bookstores. I have all of these books and have found them very useful.
