    Having awful diarrhea

I had it, too! No worries -- you're not alone! Diarrhea is caused by stress or bacterial infection. It's *NOT* caused by drinking liquids. (If it were, we'd have it all the time.) Keep drinking your liquids and stay hydrated. It's your body's reaction to stress. It WILL go away!

    50 lbs!!!!!

    Wonderful news! Go, you!
  3. Hey! Six days post-op, and I'm NOT HUNGRY! Is this normal? I have to force myself to eat, as I already feel bloated and full. I'm hoping it's just the gas/bloating that's making me feel this way. I've been walking and following doctor's orders. Just wondering if anyone else found themselves disinterested in eating for the first week after surgery. Don't get me wrong, HEAD HUNGER is strong! Just no actual hunger.
  4. I had diarrhea for days after surgery. Stress to the body! THEN, I had constipation for about a week. As soon as you can, make sure you're getting enough Fiber. I'm two weeks post-op now, and I feel like things are starting to return to normal function. Along with my daily multi-Vitamins, I take fiber gummies to supplement my fiber intake.

    Dr Onopchenko

Love Dr. O and his staff! :-)
  6. I found that throughout my pre-op time, I was prepared at every turn for what was ahead. The office staff is just wonderful and very helpful, as well as being understanding and kind beyond compare. The rules are frequently communicated, the information regarding surgery was plentiful and freely provided, and it was absolutely made clear what Lap-Band was and what Lap-Band was not. Support groups are available and attendance is required pre-op and encouraged post-op. I could not be happier with the people behind my surgery!
  7. Hey, I'm there in bandster hell, too! (I'm also in SJ!) I was banded on 1/20/10 and have been stalled at 16 pounds for about a week now, even with following all the rules. I am disappointed, but I was aware that this would/could happen. I have scheduled my first fill for 2/26/10, and am looking forward to it. In the meantime, I'm going to keep following the rules and trying my best, along with keeping a positive attitude, which is WORK!
  8. I'm very excited! I've been on my liquid diet for four days, and have my surgery in no time, it seems! I finished my 7 months of medical management on January 5th and was approved right away! SO glad. I topped out at 197 and am 5'1" with sleep apnea. I am at 194 after these few days of liquid dieting. My doctor is going to perform SILS (single-incision lapband surgery) and I'm very happy about that! I've also been running with the Couch-to-5K Program since November, and have registered for my first two 5K runs in March and April. Very excited! Running is my new addiction. :w00t:
  9. I have to be at the hospital (in NJ) at 6 AM! Surgery at 7:30 AM. As soon as I'm awake, I'm supposed to be up walking for 5 minutes every hour to help with gas pain. Oh, and I heard that I should ask for the doctor to push down on my stomach right after surgery to help with gas, also. Overnight stay, some flouroscopy in the morning and then discharge. I'm very excited because I'm going to be getting SILS (single-incision lapband surgery). One incision in the belly button. Very happy about that!
  10. Exciting! :-) I will be there with ya, down to the day! :-)
  11. And I went to Boot Camp last week. I learned that there will be no catheter because they want to encourage us to get up and walk around. We HAVE to get up to go to the bathroom this way. I like the sound of this -- no catheter! Good luck to you!
