Let's get this show on the road!

My surguery is scheduled for 4-19-10 and I can't wait:thumbup:. The only thing I'm dealing with now is... I am a shop-a-holic :sneaky2: and can't shop for cute summer clothes UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also planned a day trip to Chicago one week after starting my liquid pre-op diet (what was I thinking), but that's ok more money for a cute purse and sandels. I am more excited to be off work for 2 weeks than I am to have surgery, but still counting the next three weeks down :scared0:.

I was able to set a tentative date but the very next day they called me with approval. Also when I did call in to get a date the nurse said they gave the insurance company a date if 3/29/10 in hopes that would hurry there decision. Good luck and keep us posted.

Cwalker, I tried not to think about it. I work in the medical field and HATE when patients call and ask me daily have I heard anything regarding there problem. It actually wasn't that bad, I called a week after they said they would submit the claim (I didn't want to fall through the cracks). I ended talking to a patient at work that told me she was having surgery and using the same surgeon as me, she told me she had her date scheduled already before she was approved. I called to set up a date since I had already blocked time off at work and the next day they called and told me I was approved. Now I am playing the waiting game counting down the weeks.

Should I cancel my surgery? Help!

NOBODY knows you but YOU! I'm certain this was not an easy decision for you to make especially being self pay. I basically tell people like this, I have made a decision for ME and to trust I wouldn't put myself in any danger. Your family only wants the best for you but YOU only know what's best for you in the long run. Good luck!

As you will find from the insurance thread regarding UHC each policy is different. I have UHC choice plus and was approved in about 3 weeks for the sleeve. My surgeons office said they LOVE UHC because they respond so fast. Don't be discourged because UHC will say they don't cover the sleeve, but when my surgeon office submitted my claim they approved it. GOOD LUCK!!!!!
  10. Is there room for me on the losers bench? The Doctors office called today with my approval :thumbup1:. I scheduled surgery for April 19th!!!! I can't wait, I have to go Monday and talk to my surgeon and schedule pre-op testing. I am home sick form work today so this was just the news I needed to feel a little better.
  11. Join the crowd everybody says that, you don't know how many people stop me in the store asking to take him home. LOL

I went to see my surgeon Monday 3/1. He was great, he answered all my questions. I'm just playing the waiting game now waiting on insurance approval. I started exercising on my lunch break basically using the treadmill or walking for 15 mins. I have started doing the whole last meal thing for lunch I say this is the last time I will have onion rings or any other fried food. Oh well I'm trying to post some pics but its not working any ideas will help.

    My Journey

I am writing this with a heavy heart and just need to get somethings off my mind. I meet with my surgeon on Monday 3/1/10, the day after my 29th birthday. I am in no way concerned about the surgery, at this point it's a must in order to be around for my son. What's been on my mind the most is seeing myself THIN, I have been overweight my entire life. No I have not been the 337 lbs I am now but even at 12 I was 180 lbs. Nobody I know really understands being overweight, for them weight is something that hinders them from getting that new dress or fitting into some slacks. I or no one I know has HAD to have WLS. Currently when I tell family/friends they ask me are you sure? When I get asked that I want to tell them WLS is not elective surgery for overweight people its a way for us to live!!! Oh well wish me luck on Monday I have UHC insurance and I'm told they move pretty fast with their approvals.
  15. I can't pass up a bargain I have bought 2 goal dresses from target and oldnavy for about $6 on clearance. I can't wait!!!!
  16. I don't have a date yet, but I have tried to change my habits. I eat smaller meals for lunch such as lean cusines or a small salad. For dinner I eat a normal meal but less fried foods than I'm used to. I may start just having a protein shake for breakfast. This is my birthday weekend and it also will be my last weekend of eating just anything. I want to start changing now so my body just doesnt go into shock
