when will i feel "normal" again?

I had my surgery a week ago tomorrow and I already feel normal. I still burp a bit but I expect that will pass very soon. My incisions are a little itchy but that's probably because the glue just came off. I've been able to sleep on my sides & stomach, clean my house, get up and down off the floor/couch/whatever, have sex etc.. I am just dying on this liquid diet! lol

    Hi!

Hi all! I hate writing about myself but I'll try it out. I just had my doctor's appt on Wednesday and he put in my insurance referral for me then (I love Tricare and haven't had any issues with them ever! *knock on wood*). He said it'd take a week for a decision. I checked it the next day and they received it then, Thursday Jan 14th. Last night, I checked it again and it was already approved! So, Monday I'll be making my first appointment with my surgeon, Dr Terry Simpson in Phoenix, AZ. I've also made a blog to document my journey and will keep it updated regularly if anyone wants to follow me (I'll follow back!). It's lapbandiary.blogspot.com :w00t: Oh, by the way, I'm 5'9", 275 pounds, and found out in October that I have diabetes and PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). My doctor says both will all but disappear with my surgery. Hope he's right! I'm also curious how many people have kept their surgery quiet. I've only told two friends other than my husband and Mom. I kinda feel like, if I have to, I'd much rather tell people AFTER it's done and I start losing weight.. or maybe even not at all! Anyway, I guess that's all for now! Thanks for reading and post your blogs if you have 'em.. I'd love to read!

    Hey February 2010 Bandsters!

My surgery went well. I've posted all about it on my blog if anyone cares to read (and a picture of my war wounds too!).. it's so odd to me that that I didn't have a single bit of shoulder pain. All mine was in the chest/rib cage area but 2 days later that's already gone. I feel like I am healing super fast.. the liquid diet is boring but I've lost 8 pounds since my consult a little over a week ago. Today my stomach is making strange noises... not really growling but I think it's wondering where all the food is? lol. anyway, I hope everyone else who has had their surgery already this month is feeling like a million bucks because I know I do!

    Hi!

It's going fast so far! Was referred by my PCM last week. Met with my Doc Monday and the office informed me today that I'll be submitted first thing in the morning to Tricare (then another 24-72 hrs for approval). Yay :]

    Hi!

Hey everybody! I had my consult today.. you can read more about it here!! Also, if you're a Bandster with a blog OR you live in Pensacola / Fort Walton Beach / Crestview, FL OR you're a Tricare Prime military wife - I wanna know you, especially! Get in touch! Let's talk! <3 YIPPEEEE
  14. Tricare can be tricky.. I really worry about some of the people who work there, lol! That being said, I'd call them back and talk to someone different to make sure. If you get the same thing from two people then you should be good to go. I know with Tricare Prime you have to have all kinds of approvals and stuff. Good luck!

    PCOS.. Who's got it?

I have the following: -Infrequent periods, lack of ovulation when I do have a period. -Hair. Everywhere. A little on my chin, stomach, toes... the hair is so thick! Ugh, I feel like a freakshow carnie! -Dandruff, slight acne but nothing big. -Obesity. Duh. -Type 2 Diabetes. Taking Metformin 500mg once per day. -Thinning hair. I lose soo much hair in the shower. It's gotten much better though. -Dark skin on my neck and underarms. -Skin tags, mostly thighs and one on my eyelid. It's a pain.. I was just diagnosed in Oct 2009, after gaining about 60 pounds in a year and a half. The only symptoms I had before then was irregular periods, dark skin on neck, and obesity  I didn't even have diabetes!!

Why do women have anal sex?

Lol... Anal is one of those things that feels good if done the right way (ie a patient man, relaxation, and enough lube)... however, if your man is "too big" it is just all out painful. (and by too big i mean, oh say around 9" and thick). this is a pretty much the only thing where "size doesnt matter", imo. lol!

    Hi!

Hey everyone! I spoke with my doctor's office today and my initial consult is scheduled for Monday, Jan 25th! I'm so excited! Meanwhile, I've been reading several blogs and loving it! I look forward to 'meeting' more of you! YAY!
  18. AirForce.Wife

    Hi!

Yeah it sounds like I'll be just keeping it quiet for now. I'm calling for my first surgeon appt tomorrow and will post here with the info!
  19. AirForce.Wife

    Hi!

Hey JeweI, thanks for the response! I told my MIL last night.. she is super cool and I know she will keep it quiet. I'm not sure what I'd do if she told the whole family... that just seems really uncalled for. You know what they say though, "ignorance is bliss"! LOL.. thanks again!!
  20. Good luck with your surgery!

    Pensacola/NW Florida-BEST DOCTOR

So glad to see this.. I will be moving to Fort Walton Beach in March and will likely need a doctor there. I've followed your blog too! Thanks!
  22. I am new to the site and just got my insurance approval recently too... all I can really say is that I feel like, for myself, I would have to mentally prepare for it as much as possible. I have been thinking about having this done for the last several months and just had to get my mind where it should be, where I'm comfortable with it... If you feel like you need a little longer to prepare for it, just tell your doctor. If you have a good doc, I'm sure he or she wants what's best for you, right? Good luck!
