  1. I have never done much of the powder mix-ins.... I have tried the muscle milk, the Isopure, isolate, soy Protein, and designer whey, but I really didn't like them I have alsways stuck with Worldwide Pure Protein Drink premixed in a can. I have tried the Cookies n creme, banana, vanilla, and chocolate. I have really liked these ones, I even just recently tried there powder to mix with Water and milk and found it to be one of the best I have tried.

  2. I haven't posted in a reeeaaalllyyy long time, but I too hit a platuae (sp). I am starting back on track today. I was 282 at banding back on January 14th and now I am at 236 and have been here for about a montha and a half now.... ugh! But I can easily recognize what I have been doing to sabotage myself and I honestly haven't been "actively" trying and havent had a fill since my fourth was done in early May.

I am kinda scared though casue I keep reading about people who "stretched thier pouches etc. I am praying I haven't done anything I can't get my self out of

Oh well today is a new day and I'm back to trying and working this thing out!

Also I wanted to share a tip for those of you that track your food and Protein down... I picked up this really awesome notebook at GNC yesterday called the body minder. It is awesome it has a spot for Water intake, fat, calories, protein, and carbs... and a bunch of other stuff. I think this will be really helpful anyway best of luck to all!

  3. I haven't posted in a LONG time, but I wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing and say hi! I was banded January 14th and I down 33.5 pounds. I have been stuck at the same with no loss or gain for about three weeks now. I have had 2 fills and go in for my next on Monday the 12th.

I think I must be in bandster hell right now, because I still have no restriction... and the scale hasn't budged in 3 weeks... I'm glad it hasn't gone up, but I think I need to get remotivated! Gonna read up a little and work harder!

    Good luck to everyone!

  4. I thought I had a general idea of what getting stuck would be like.... but now I am getting confused . I don't think it has happened to me, but then again I'm not sure what it would be like. Can anyone who has been "stuck" explain or tell me what it was like for you. I would really appreciate it, I am new at this and trying to relearn all of the eating sensations, etc.

Thanks in advance for any help !! ;)

  5. I loved reading these posts! I also have about a million that I could add, most of which are the ones that are directly said to you or supposed to be for your own "good".

I am glad to see I am not the only one with th mom issues lol. My family ( my mom dad and younger brother) called me "big girl world" forever.... it sucked. My mom is small and always has been, plus she is always on some health kick... Fiber bars, exercise bootcamp, etc. I would always combat her "compliments" or "advice" by asking if the toast she had today was delicious or not.

She pulls out pics of me back in high school or when I met my husband and I was pretty thin sz 11 ( for me was small), and always has to be like, "you were so pretty, huh". I always wanna go yep that's what bulimia will do to ya huh, at least my breath doesn't smell like vomit anymore!

I have a funny one though from a second grader at the school where I work. - A couple years back we were collecting cans for our habitat at school so I hauled in a large bag full of crushed cans that I had been collecting for a while.

The kids were amazed by the large amount I had brought in (grade level who brings in most pounds every month gets a popcorn party), and one little boy that usually has good manners umps up and says, " Wow that's why you're so fat cause of all that soda! You drink too much soda."

I was so embarrassed and didn't even know what to say, I did want to say , "well they aren't soda cans they are beer cans from my husband, and the cokes are diet so there!" But of course I just stood there in shock and later reminded the class of good manners and not being rude to others.

  6. Hi Barb, I am so glad to have joined the group. I have only been on the boards and already feel like I have a great group of new friends! I know we can all help each other become healthier and happier! You are so right about all the info on here... wow. I feel so much better "safer" when I read the posts and see what others are experiencing, it is nice to get to talk to others that know what I am going through. I am will be here if anyone needs anything! :w00t:

After reading about all the pre-op liquids I am feeling lucky about only having the day before and day of surgery being a Clear Liquids only. I am also going to admit that I actually cried ( yes real tears) while driving past all those restaurants on the way back from pre-op. I really just wanted one bite of some real food. Now I am on full liquids and pureed soupy things and the mega Protein packed everything. I have discovered that I detest muscle milk ready to drink cookie and cream flavor, but do like the worldwide Protein drinks. I have also been staring at the isopur fruit punch I bought wondering what it will taste like.

    Sorry for rambling

  7. I am a few days post -op and think I am now starting to have the same issue. I go to see the doc on Wednesday so I am hopiing he'll have something good to say. The lower spot seems to hurt when I sit or lay down or stand up. At first I thought it was my incision site, but those are healing up perfectly. My pain is on the right side in the lower middle of my stomach... I'm pretty sure it's port related..... I wonder how long till it goes away.

  8. Hello, all my name is Tabitha and I am freshly banded as of Thursday morning! Excited and ready for the ride! I have loved reading the posts. I find it encouraging that there is such a great support system! Good luck to everyone I am so happy and excited to be a January Bandster. I look forward to posting and getting to know everyone! :w00t:

  9. I would also reccomend not going with the rings. I started with rings and got both done, and my right one rejected. I switched to straight barbell and in my left it has been just perfect..... I will say that I forgot to take it out when I went to get banded yesterday. That was awkward when I was asked by the nurse if I had removed all jewelry. lol

But I love my piercing and would do it again for sure!

  10. I was banded as scheduled this morning, and it was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I have been experiencing some of the gas pain I heard about , but nothing too bad. I am SOOOO utterly excited that I decided to go through with this!

    Good luck to everyone!
