I had my surgery with Dr. Kurian on 5/4 at NYU. It went very well. I had no pain since then. At the most I've been sore. I've been following all the rules and am doing great. One surprise I had is how swollen my stomach got. I'm on 2 shakes, broth,crystal light, etc. All liquid. 2 cups of coffee per day as well. I have had no problem with anything. I drink everything slowly and take my time. It is working like a charm. The hunger is gone. If I'm out shopping for food or smell food it is a little hard but a drink of sometime works wonders filling me up. I lost 11 pounds pre-op and on Friday I go for my first check-up. I'm guessing it will be 3-5 pounds down. Good luck to everyone.

I'm having surgery on 5/4. Can't wait. Working hard on the pre-op diet. I started mixing the protein shakes with diet cream soda for an egg-cream taste. Helps a little. Wish we were both one year ahead of this. Wishing you lots of luck. Please post how everything went for you.

I'm 5/4 as well. I'm doing it in NYC. Started the liquid diet this past Tuesday. I have all my pre-op appointments this coming Wed. Good luck to us both.
