  1. don't get upset, if you have questions call your doctor if you feel that it is necessary, but keep breathing, and you will get there, don't forget your stomach is still swollen, what did you have for surgery? Maybe you should try it without the milk. There are people that have a hard time with dairy, not as many as I thought, but I knew a girl that had the bypass a long time ago, and she couldn't drink any milk or eat ice cream or anything, so it might just be that? But like i said if it still happens with the Water try the isopure? it is a little expensive but if its all you can get down then I would suggest it to get your Protein in as it has a lot of protein in it!!!
  2. Have you been drinking your Water, and keeping hydrated? How did you make your shake? Did you use milk or water? I have heard of people not handling the shakes after surgery. I have been on my pre-op diet and I am drinking the shakes and they give me diarrhea too I am using water in them like it says but I feel like crap? I don't know if it's the brand of shake I am using cause I have used the whey that you can buy in walmart, and that doesn't bother me like this one that i got from my doctor? If you are making the shake with milk try it with water and if that still is bothering you I would say try a different Protein substitute drink, such as there is that one from GNC natures choice Isopure, and it's looks like Gatorade? Check it out??? Good luck!!!
  3. Hi fellows, I have the same liquid diet, and I have to be on it till my surg. and mine is the 19th, and yes its the same, it is hell at first, like yesterday I by 4 I was starving, but just keep drinking Water in between your shakes, and stuff. You will be in the bathroom every other minute but it's better than getting stomach hunger pains? Also when you do your shake, do it in the blender as much as possible with water or whatever your using and add ice to make it like a milkshake, cause the thicker it is the longer it will keep you from being hungry. Thats what I did, last night I took one of my chocolate shakes and added Peanut Butter to it. So yummy!!! Added Protein. My doctor said I can add fruit, anything I want as long as I am drinking it. So Add what you can to your shake to help keep you from getting hungry!!! Good luck, hope you the best with your surgery.
  4. Cupcake, I am glad that I could say something to make you feel better and help you out. That's what I am here for, also glad that you talked to your doctor and they said they would get you the next possible date as it's important not to make you wait too long cause that is discouraging. Just stay strong and get ready. I started my 2 week diet Wednesday and it SUCKS!!! I am so hungry!!! Yesterday by 4 I was starving, I was drinking Water by the gallons to try to supplement for that empty feeling? It just wasn't helping? So as soon as I got home I made a chocolate shake with Peanut Butter in it. That filled me right up!!! So I know it's going to be ok, but I just wish I could do more during the day than just the shakes and one Protein bar? I was thinking of calling my doctors today to see if I could also add a greek yogurt? Well anyway I will continue to post!!! As do you!!! Good luck and hope it comes soon.
  5. Lmao!!! Go into your profile and edit your profile!!!
  6. Of course when your not getting the nutrients you need your emotions will go crazy too!!! Don't worry this shall pass too!!!
  7. Verna, you should call you doctor, specially with the cough, you don't want to come down with pneumonia. They say it's typical to only drop very little after surgery, you could even gain weight. Your only a week post op, and you have to remember your body is not accustom to that foreign object in your body, so it is going to take a little bit to get used to it. You are eating normal foods already or are you just on liquids? It's ok to put yucky messages up, that is what this site is for putting up good and yucky messages so we can help everyone out. It's good to ask. It means you are truly interested in this working!!! Good luck!!!
  8. jtickle, that is awesome, my boyfriend is also very supportive and working it along with me. It is awesome to have someone who will support you like that. My boyfriend has already helped me in so many ways and I haven't had my surgery yet. He doesn't even have but maybe 30 lbs to loose I love him the way he is but he has developed a little bubble gut and he isn't happy with himself, so I support him the way he supports me, and I may have much more and longer to go than him but I know that he has my back the whole way through, which feels amazing!!! Good for you, and just keep that communication open and you guys will do awesome!!!
  9. Ugh, reinangel, I am so sorry to hear that, cause I love eggs, and I really hope that I don't have that issue!!! Well I hope you get past that. Thanks for letting me know about the dairy though!!!
  10. Yeah I hear you there, I am glad that mine will be laproscopic!!!
  11. Megan, I did not know it takes that long for your body to intake the Vitamins like that? I know after my lapband surgery I used the oil and rubbed it on and it seemed to help ok with my scars, and I am going to continue to do that after my bypass surgery, Thanks for that info, as I would never have guessed that!!!
  12. Meintraining, I would say rub it on, it goes right into the skin!!! I used it when I had the lapband, and it's oily but its better than having scars????
  13. Good to know Mrs. Harkness, I really hope that I don't, I love milk, and cottage cheese!!!
  14. Thanks Megan, I defiantly will let you know!!!
  15. My surgery is the 19th of this month. I am super excited, just wish the days would go by a little faster, cause right now it seems like each day goes by so slow??? I am ready!!! I am so ready I am beyond ready!!! LOL,
  16. Kaitlin, I have BCBS, not federal but thats my ins. co and I know it says 35 BMI and up but for 2 years or more? Really? Hey no problem we are all going through the same steps and journey you are, and it can get stressful and redundant at sometimes, but just hang in there, its all worth it!!!
  17. Yes it is temporary if you don't eat right? I don't foresee you eating at a fast food restaurant everyday 3 times a day once you have the surgery done. I love the wraps and I love the greens, and knowing what we are going to be going through with eating I plan to use the greens to get in my Vitamins from them. The greens with 8 oz of Water or orange juice is your full day of vegetables in one glass? I know with bypass you lose a lot of Vitamin intake because of the bypass, and so by drinking that I am in hopes that I won't have to take as many pill form vitamins. So it's just a suggestion??? I love it works, and I am integrating it as much as I can during my journey!!!
  18. Good to know Kata!!! Thanks
  19. If you don't try, you won't know, so I guess that is one way of learning specially if you were told it would be ok??? I know I am going to stick to egg's, cottage cheese, yogurt, and stuff like that for atleast 2 months after my surgery, I don't want to feel yucky!!! But I suppose if your scared to try new things too you won't ever lead a normal life after surgery. So eventually I will start trying. I am most concerned with the whole dairy thing? I hear alot of people don't take dairy very well after bypass? I would love to hear your experiences with diary?
  20. Yes, I'm just starting out! I sure wish I had a date! I just started Weight Watchers yesterday as part of my medically-supervised weight loss. I had a meltdown yesterday because I'm worried I haven't been "morbidly obese" for the 2 years required by my insurance. I need to review my files with my GP, I guess. Anyway, if everything goes according to the plan in my head, I'd like to be having surgery in July or August. We'll see! Urban*decay who do you have for insurance that they require you to be morbidly obese for 2 years? I have never heard of that? Of course I have been that way since I was young, so I guess that wouldn't be a concern of mine? Well don't get too stressed out, just run with it, and tell your doctor everything your going through and feeling. It can be a crazy road your going down don't let them get to you. I have gone down this road twice now, and it can be no fun, but you can do this!!! Just have faith in yourself, and everything will go great!!!
  21. Cupcake don't get bummed, when is your next date you meet with the surgeon and sign paperwork and all that? Believe me I know you just want to get it done and get post op, but it will come, and your going to do great. I tell my boyfriend all the time have faith in yourself!!! Everyone needs to have faith in their selves so that is the motivation I live by everyday!!! You will get there. I also will not have a drain, as my doctor does the same thing, he feels that having a drain can just cause a leak, so I am happy about that. I have 12 more days to my surgery!!! I am and have been so anxious. I will be so relaxed after it's over. I have started my preop liquid diet and I am starving so I am drinking Water like it's a drug, cause I am trying to forget how hungary I am???? LOL doesn't work so good????
