  1. wow, rdy4chnge14 that is alot of questions, well I didn't have the sleeve, I had the bypass, and to start off answering your questions, some of these you should really ask your doctor, I also heard about the drainage, and some doctors do it and some don't, mine didn't, and I was happy about that, but i guess it doesn't hurt coming out just feels weird? As for food after surgery, you really have to play it safe and try different things, and see what works for you, everyones body is different. I couldn't drink the Protein drinks after surgery? They made me sick? I haven't tried them since, cause i don't want to be sick??? I was only in the hospital for one overnight, and I couldn't wait to get out of there, cause the bed was awful, and then when I got home it was great!!! lol, I was in pain for a little while and I had a lot go on after surgery that I didn't anticipate, but it is what it is, and I recovered well, I am post surgery 2-1/2 months, and I am down 45 lbs. I had staples in my stomach after I had the surgery and so sex was sort of painful couldn't get in a good position but after 2 weeks and the staples gone, I been good!!! lol as for the getting pregnant thing, I asked my OB about that, cause my fiance doesn't have any kids and we want to have one together, and she said I should wait atleast a year - 18 months after I have the surgery before we try? So I would again ask your doctor about that. Good Luck!!!

  2. My surgery was March 18 and I am down 60 pounds as of this morning (since my first surgeon appt in Dec.). I feel pretty darn good. I can finally handle most foods okay and have so much more energy than I did prior to losing this weight. I struggled with experiencing pain when I drank Water for about the first month after surgery, but am fine now. Having the surgery was definitely a good decision for me. I'm losing weight at a nice, steady rate (about 11-12 pounds a month, give or take) and haven't hit a big stall yet. I can make it through 18 holes of golf now without being completely exhausted and in pain! Life is definitely good! :)

Wow healthyme, I had mine march 19th and I've lost 44lbs but I still can't handle a lot of foods?

  3. Tigerlily, do not doubt yourself, everyone is afraid of screwing this up, I am only 2 months out from having my bypass and I still have fears that I am screwing up? You will do great, just follow what your body tells you. Trust me when I say people will tell you that now and you will be like what does that mean, you will truly find that out after surgery!!! You need, NEED to just follow the rules at the beginning, getting sick is no fun, and I will be the first to tell you I tried stuff before I should have, and I paid for it, you will go through an emotional roller coaster with it cause you will feel like you need to eat things but you can't, you will feel like your starving your body, but your not, you will have so much going on, and you just have to stay strong and remember why your doing it. I have had so much happen to me in the first 2 months that I am just so ready for something normal, but it will happen when my body is ready, but on the up side I am down 44lbs in 2 months? I haven't lost 10 lbs in the past 5 years that I could say came off and stayed off? Good luck and you will do great!!!

  4. he forbids you to smoke? My bf smokes too, and I think that is one of the problems cause I like to smoke and smelling him smoke just makes me want to smoke more??? Oh well one of these days I will figure that part out, but right now I am concentrating on my diet and my weight loss!!!

  5. LOL, I know what you mean, I don't drink really, maybe on occasion but very rare!!! I smoke cause it's the only real thing that has ever really calmed me down when I get stressed or mad? I guess that's not a good excuse, but I have smoked since I was 17 and I am now 36, and I just enjoy it? I know its not good for me, and I wish there was some way of replacing it, but those electronic cigarettes just don't have the same effect as smoking a real cigarette? I quit after I had my surgery for maybe a week and a half, and now I just smoke occasionally not like I used to but it's still smoking? I used to smoke a pack a day but now I smoke maybe 5 - 1/2 a pack a day? I don't smoke while I am at work most days which is funny cause that is the place where I stress the most with all the crap I deal with at work, but I am just so busy most days that I don't even think about it?

  6. I did have my surgery, I feel great, I had some problems at first, cause I don't heal well, I had the same issue when I had my c-section with my son, and my incision opened up after they took the stitches/staples out. I have had to let my incision close up from the inside out, and it's been rough, but it's almost closed now, and so I am in hopes that at my next appt. with my doctor it will be closed or 99% closed as it's almost there now, and he will tell me I can start working out and doing some weight training. How about you? Have you had your surgery?

  7. I don't look at quotes very often, but I like the one you put in this post. I too am 4 weeks out today and I am very happy that I did this for myself, and now I have no excuse to not give it my all. I have gone through a very rough 4 weeks, but I am pushing through all that has happen and I am going to keep going!!! Stay strong, cause your the only one that can make this change in your life!!! Good Luck!!!

  8. I feel you, I just had my surgery 4 weeks ago, and I feel so tired by the end of my work day I could go home and sleep till morning. I work from 7:30 - 4:30, and when i get home at 5, I feel like crap, I am exhausted, I have no energy to eat, cook for my family, nothing. I am so ready for some energy to start kicking in. I think if you just got your surgery done it could be due to the healing and the lack of protein/carbs too. Im not sure in your case, but I think that is what is going on with me. I yawn all day too, I am always just tired, but I sit at a desk pretty much all day so that doesn't help either? Good Luck!!!

  9. I always said the same thing twins, one boy one girl, all at once, but I know what I went through with one of my kids, and now I would say heck no!!! I had a hard enough time with dealing with one kid at a time, nevermind 2????

  10. Ok, so I know having the surgery done is to get healthy, and I am trying to do that, but I am still having a hard time with my smoking. I quit and I go back I quit and go back, I used every possible help thing to help me quit, and I still mentally go back, I don't know if it's the stress, and I don't want to pig out, or what, but does anyone else still smoke, or feel the same way if you are a smoker????

  11. Thanks Chelle, I think that is what I am going to do too, I am actually going to stop at the grocery store on the way home to pick up some more eggs, and I am going to boil eggs and have them in the morning and then I am going to get a pork roast and put it in the crock pot tonight till the morning and bring some of that to work. I have to figure this out as these supplement Protein drinks aren't working for me, I did pick up some of those Quest Protein Bars though and yum, they are good!!! I can take those in too, and so I can use one of those daily if I want? We will see, thanks though!!!

  12. OMG, ok so I went to GNC at lunch to get an Isopure, and UGH Gross, I got blue raspberry, I love blue raspberry, it is so sweet and nasty, it has a horrible after taste. I don't know what I am going to do for Protein at this point? Not to mention they cost $4.85 each with my membership discount? I am all set I think I will just find things to eat that will make up my Protein, I am not drinking this stuff. Well I am going to drink this for today but after this nope I won't try another one???? Gross!!!
