      pupichupi

I know me too!!! I figure my goal was to loose 150 lbs, and so I wanted to loose atleast 1/2 that by the 6 months cause I know the first 6 months is when you loose it quicker and then after that is when your body starts to slow down so I wanted atleast half of it gone by then????

    The waiting game!

Lily once you do all your pre-recs then they submit to your insurance and depending on insurance it could be a week could be a couple weeks shouldn't take longer than 2 weeks to get approval then you get a date 2 weeks away depending on your doctor and the liquid diet they put you on? So your biggest thing is staying on top of your insurance company if that's how your going threw this and if you don't have an approval after a week I would call them and require about it!!!

    Full liquid stage - milk

Yeah milk is a liquid, so you should be able to have milk? I used milk in my Protein shakes during the liquid diet?

    WHAT TO EXPECT

wow, rdy4chnge14 that is alot of questions, well I didn't have the sleeve, I had the bypass, and to start off answering your questions, some of these you should really ask your doctor, I also heard about the drainage, and some doctors do it and some don't, mine didn't, and I was happy about that, but i guess it doesn't hurt coming out just feels weird? As for food after surgery, you really have to play it safe and try different things, and see what works for you, everyones body is different. I couldn't drink the Protein drinks after surgery? They made me sick? I haven't tried them since, cause i don't want to be sick??? I was only in the hospital for one overnight, and I couldn't wait to get out of there, cause the bed was awful, and then when I got home it was great!!! lol, I was in pain for a little while and I had a lot go on after surgery that I didn't anticipate, but it is what it is, and I recovered well, I am post surgery 2-1/2 months, and I am down 45 lbs. I had staples in my stomach after I had the surgery and so sex was sort of painful couldn't get in a good position but after 2 weeks and the staples gone, I been good!!! lol as for the getting pregnant thing, I asked my OB about that, cause my fiance doesn't have any kids and we want to have one together, and she said I should wait atleast a year - 18 months after I have the surgery before we try? So I would again ask your doctor about that. Good Luck!!!
  6. So I lost only a pound this past week? Well a pound loss is a pound I didn't have before!!! I am staying in a positive mood about any loss because it's not a gain, and I am not going to go back to where I was!!!

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Thanks pinkpolkadot!!! I can't speak for blade, but I know going through this transformation I have found that I want to help others loose the weight, I have instilled the changes in my home too, and my son is only 9 but he is a heavy kid right now and we are working on that so that as he gets older he doesn't go through everything I have growing up and being a heavy kid.

    June 24th and nervous!

Tigerlily, do not doubt yourself, everyone is afraid of screwing this up, I am only 2 months out from having my bypass and I still have fears that I am screwing up? You will do great, just follow what your body tells you. Trust me when I say people will tell you that now and you will be like what does that mean, you will truly find that out after surgery!!! You need, NEED to just follow the rules at the beginning, getting sick is no fun, and I will be the first to tell you I tried stuff before I should have, and I paid for it, you will go through an emotional roller coaster with it cause you will feel like you need to eat things but you can't, you will feel like your starving your body, but your not, you will have so much going on, and you just have to stay strong and remember why your doing it. I have had so much happen to me in the first 2 months that I am just so ready for something normal, but it will happen when my body is ready, but on the up side I am down 44lbs in 2 months? I haven't lost 10 lbs in the past 5 years that I could say came off and stayed off? Good luck and you will do great!!!

  13. 2 lbs away from 40 lbs, and tomorrow is I guess what you would consider 2 months out cause I had my surgery on the 19th, but it was a wednesday and tomorrow is a wednesday and 9 weeks past? I don't care, but I am super excited that I am close to 40 lbs down!!!

  14. Ok, so I found a snack that I can eat that is almost like having potato chips? If your interested, it's Pork rinds. They have no carbs, and are protein and they curb that snacky craving!!! Check it out!!!

    1. BladeFox

      BladeFox

Yep, good but I have chosen to stay off pork rinds for a bit. I love popcorn and have started to eat Skinny Pop Popcor. Low carbs and a little protein(not much.) Still must be careful on both - full of sodium.

    2. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Blade smart pop is what I've been into too they have a new low cal one too!!!

  16. "Don't judge your progress by the progress of others" this is my quote of the day, as I think going into this that is what I thought would happen to me what was happening to others and the quickness of weight drop?

      Cupcake

Pupichupi i like those words, I am going to remember that while going through this, I am two days of my pre liquid diet and surgery is Monday. How is everything with you?

    2. Lennyb724

      Lennyb724

In another context I've heard the term "Never judge my insides by other peoples outsides". Same sentiment I guess.

      pupichupi

Thanks Lenny that's true!! Cupcake congrats on finally getting here I know it's been a while since we have talked! I'm good I had a rough go at first but now I'm in a groove and getting there, can't wait to see results after I get my ok to start really working out???

  17. Lost another lb this week, it's better than gaining I suppose? Was hoping for more, but its a loss thats all that matters!

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Thanks, I am having a hard time finding my groove, with the food part, but I am getting in what I can!!!

    2. m_rose

      m_rose

That's definitely something I am nervous about when the time comes. When you rely on food for so long and then you have no choice but not to - nerve wracking!

    3. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Yes it is, in fact Friday I was so upset, and I just wanted to curl up with some ice cream, which was always my comfort food presurgery, and now I can't even tolerate it? Not even frozen yogurt?

  21. Got a new tattoo that symbolizes "New Beginnings" last night, and that is what I believe with this procedure I have new beginnings going on in my life and I am happy with it all!!!!

    1. pupichupi

      pupichupi

BigGirlPanties, that is a zoon over the anchor, it's a warrior symbol for new beginnings. The tattoo was a cover-up, I did the dumb mistake of putting someones name on me, dumb dumb, never do that again, and so anyway I got this to represent my new beginnings with my Bypass, my new life with the guy I am engaged to, and forgetting the past!!! I have quite a few also, my whole top of my right arm is covered all the way around, I have a one on my foot, my calf, my ankle, my neck, all across my back, behind my ear, and more to come, I couldn't care if I was covered by the time I am old, I love it, and I will love it forever no matter how wrinkled I get. LOL I never really thought I would get a whole lot of ink but I fell in love the minute that needle hit my back on my first tattto? I have been hooked ever since. My fiance's brother is a tattoo artist so I get them from him?
