  1. I mentioned late last week that it hurt to eat or drink anything so I went to the doctor last Friday, and he unfilled me all the way. I finally went back today to get a fill under fluro to make sure everything was okay. He said some word that started with a 'c' and then prolapse. He told me I had been tight for so long, and I needed to let my stomach rest. I go back in two weeks, and he put 2.8 cc in there today. What is a prolapse, and will my band and everything be okay? The thing is I didn't feel tight, and I was able to eat good until my last fill at the first of Feb. He told me to eat slowly and not to overeat. That is hard because I feel hungry because I don't have much fill. Also, my year of "free" fills was up in Feb., and of course, this had to happen after the one year. It's okay I guess. I just want everything to be okay with my band.
  2. I have been having these cramps in my stomach since last weekend. It kinda feels like a runners cramp that you get, but it is worse. Somtimes it hurts in my upper stomach, but then it goes to around my belly button area. I have a slight prolapse on the band since March, and I just got a small fill about 2 weeks ago so I thought it was something related to my band. Some days the pain isn't as bad, and others like today the pain is bad. It hurts to stand up straight and to lay down. The only thing that is helping the pain today is sitting up. I called my doctor, but he is out of the country until the 20th. I talked with the nurse because I felt my port, and it seems to have moved so I thought maybe that is what is causing the pain. She told me that the port can move after losing a bunch of weight, but I don't know if that is what is causing my pain or not. I did tell her about the pain, and she told me to monitor it and get back with her if it doesn't get better. Has anyone experienced anything like this or have their port move or had this kind of pain? I just took some milk of mag. to see if I can go to the restroom since I haven't been using the restroom all that well. I don't know what to do, and I am worried. I might need to call my regular doctor since my band doctor is out of the office.
  3. I agree that it is all about how you are built. I weigh 183-185, and I am sitting here in a pair of size 8 shorts.
  4. If the tube came loose, wouldn't that make me lose all restriction I have meaning all the saline has leaked out? Just curious because I still have pressure like I am getting stuck if I eat too fast or something like that.
  5. Thank you. I really appreciate it. I am still thinking some of it might be gas pains/bathroom issues because I keep having a lot of cramps near my belly button and a little below. Anyway, thank you again.
  6. Well I heard from Urgent Care about the results of my CT scan. Unfortunately, all my pain is band related. The receptionist told me to see my doctor about the placement of the band. I was thinking I already know that because I have a prolapse (I am getting it checked on the 29th, but if this pain persists, I won't be able to last that long). I said so I had the scan for nothing because I already know this. She transferred me to a nurse who said they didn't see anything else wrong and that I needed to contact my band doctor or find another doctor to go to (I'm not sure what that means, but anyway). I asked about an obstruction, and she said they didn't find anything so my problems are band related. Not good. I am not having any problems eating or drinking so could it just be irritated or something? I am going away for the weekend so I am probably going to be in pain the whole time. Oh well. This stinks.
  7. Well after almost going to the ER last night because I was in so much pain (I let out a lot of gas that helped a lot), I decided to go to Urgent Care today near where I live. I didn't much like the doctor as he was only in my room about 2 minutes. He ordered a CT scan which I just completed. I will know late today or tomorrow what is wrong. I pray it is only a bad case of bowel issues and not band related. I am leaning on the side of band related just because I have a prolapse, but hopefully it isn't. I didn't really have any pain while in the doctors office, but when I went to lay down for the CT scan, the pain started again. It progresses throughout the day and only is better when I am sitting down. Standing and laying down hurts.
  8. I would call the doctor just to be on the safe side, but I believe you are okay. The port area will be sore for several weeks (it was for me at least). I still have pain every once and awhile in my port area, and I have been banded 1.5 years.
  9. I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. I haven't felt around my port site in a few days, but when I did yesterday, I could tell it had moved upward. Is this a sign of the tubing coming loose? I have had a slight prolapse since March, but I have been in pain ever since last Friday with these cramps. I'm so hoping that it isn't band related, and that it is just irritating my band. It feels like a runners cramp that you get, but this is worse and constant. I am starting to thing I am majorly constipated because I'm not having too much gas anymore, and I haven't been using the restroom all that well. The pain starts right under my ribcage and goes go to my belly button. I took some milk of mag. last night, and used the restroom a little this morning and I felt better. It gets worse though throughout the day. My doctor is out until the 20th so I hope this isn't going to hurt anything.
  10. Yes (in my experience at least). I have 3.8 cc, and I can eat any and everything and plenty of it.

    hurt when eating

They explained it to me like this. They said I had mushroom like swelling above my band caused from being too tight for too long and that my band had changed shape a little.

    hurt when eating

I had that happen a few weeks ago. Mine is probably different than yours though. I woke up one morning, and everything I swallowed hurt going down. It turned out I had a prolapse.
  13. Okay. About a month ago, I wrote on here how I was having a slight problem with my band. One morning about a month ago, I woke up and everything I ate or drank hurt going down so I knew something was wrong. My doctor came in and let all my Fluid out. The following week I went for a fill under fluro for him to check out my band. He said I had a prolapse like mushroom above my band from being too tight for so long. He put a little fluid back in that day, and told me to take it easy and to come back in a few weeks. I went back last week, and he put another cc in for a total of around 3.8 cc total. I had gained 4 lbs. in that 3-4 week period in between the fluro and the fill the other day. He told me to come back as needed. I asked him about my band, and he said something about it changed shape, and that we hope it goes back to the original shape or something like that so that we don't have problems down the road and have to have it fixed. I haven't been in pain or anything since that initial problem back over a month ago, and he asked me if I had threw up any which I haven't. I do get a little sharp pain every once in awhile right under my sternum which is where it hurt initially (I guess that it is still a little swollen or something?). I am able to eat A LOT more than what I could before I had this problem. I just feel so nasty because I am eating more because I have no restriction, and I'm feeling so fat even though I only weigh 170. My question is I know I will need another fill because of the amount of food I am eating and how it seems like I'm always searching for food. Will getting more fills and getting to restriction going to hurt my band further or make my slight prolapse worse? Is there a risk in getting tighter with this problem? I worked to lose these 90+ pounds and reaching my goal before I had this problem occur, and now I am worrying about gaining more weight, which I thought I would never have to worry about after I had surgery. I was feeling so good, and I was starting to feel good about myself, and now I just feel bad because I can eat more. Any suggestions? It seems like bandster hell all over again, even though it wasn't bad for me the first go around. This time it is worse. I'm just worried that I will never get back to where I was.

    Banded Forever?

Mine will be in me forever. I know that if I had mine removed I would gain all my weight back. I can tell after having all my Fluid removed that my eating habits would go back to like they were before being banded. It is scary that it probably wouldn't take long for me to gain a significant amount of weight back. I've heard of some people saying they were going to get it removed down the road.
  15. Okay. Crazy question, but is it okay to skydive with the band? I know I should ask my doctor, but thought I would ask ya'll first. Has anyone ever done this with the band? I'm thinking about skydiving, but then again, I think I'm crazy. Hehe.
  16. This guy I went to school with posted his skydiving trip on FB so I thought it would be cool to do. My cousin and I have talked about it before, and there is a place close to where I live. I don't know. I think I could do it, but when I get up there, I'm afraid I would chicken out. I'm sure it is pretty scary, and it's like $200 plus to do it. If I pay that money, I will be jumping out of the plane dang it. Hehe.

    Still fill big?

Yep I have the same problem. I am wearing some 4s and some 6s in jeans, but I still feel huge. I don't like how I look in the mirror, and everyone says how good I look. I don't see it. Even my doctor told me I was looking skinny, and that it wouldn't hurt to gain some weight. I was like did he just say that. LOL.

Had to Buy New Jeans :)

Congrats. It's a great feeling isn't it? I am in need of some new pants, but I guess I will wait until later in the year since it is almost short weather.
  19. It will hurt from time to time even as you get further and further away from having surgery or mine does at least.

Bad cramp in left side that won't go away!!

Mine isn't gas pain. I think it comes on when I overeat. Feels like a runners cramp to the left of my belly button.

    Two post op questions

Yep to both. I know my port still hurts sometimes, and I am almost 14 months out. It is sore today for some reason. The pooping issues get better. I had a few bathroom issues after surgery as well.

    Ahh bra...

I looked at the website, and it looks kinda like the Genie Bra that I saw an info-commercial for the other day. They look comy, but I'm afraid to try either one because I am a little saggy. I always get underwire bras, and these don't have underwire.

    Sports Bra

I went to Fleet Feet and got some Moving Comfort bras. They are underwire. I also found some by Champion at Academy Sports and Outdoors. They are underwire as well, but I like that because mine are big and saggy as well. LOL.
  24. I went through something similar, but mine came on all of a sudden. About two weeks ago, it hurt to breath, eat or drink. I called the doctor, and I went in that same day. He took all my Fluid out. I went last week for a fluro, and he said I had been tight for so long it caused like a mushroom above the band. I guess that was causing my paint and everything. I would get completely unfilled, and then let them check you. I had heartburn for a few weeks before I went to the doctor. That is a sign you may be too tight.
  25. When I go out, I either order a soup or share my meal with someone. I'm not big on leftovers so sharing is a good option for me.
