  1. Well I was banded May 13. I was at 240 and now weigh 203. I was beginning to feel alittle discourage because I have not lost weight in a few weeks. I went to the dr for a fill but when I told them that I was having sever shoulder pain when I eat they decieded I wait 2 more weeks for a fill. So I will go back on Sep 10. I am very happy with True Results. Everyone there is extemely nice and very helpful. It is nice to be able to talk to people that have gone with the same office and same dr. Keep in touch. :)

  2. I was banded May 13. I went in for the Pre-Op on the day before, and asked to report to the Hospital at 7:30 am. I was not called in untill almost 10:00am. I started my Protein diet 2 weeks before at 240 and on Surgery day I was 223. Nurse started the IV, gave me a shot of anticlog med., put on leg massagers and was taken in for surgery at about 11:00 am. Next thing I remember I was in recovery being to move from bed to a recliner. I was taken for the x-ray and asked to go to the restroom and given a sip of juice. I was given instructions to go home and was discharged at 2 pm. The first 3 days were the hardest in the sence that it was so hard to get in and out of bed and out of chairs. I did not have problems with the shoulder pain, Thank God. But gas was some what uncomfortable. I am still on liquids. I've been having cream Soups. I put them in the blinder and use Water instead of milk and it does the job. I do get full very quick. I am not able to eat nearly as much as before. I went back to work yesterday and by noon I was tired and very sore. I got home at 3pm took med and slept until this morning. So all seems to be going good. My coworkers say that they are able to see a big difference already. I have not actually weighed myself yet, but I did notice some shirts fitting a little lose.

Did anyone have surgery on the same day or close enough that can share their experience with me?? Good luck to all.

  3. I finally got my surgury date. May 13 at 1pm. I have been on the pre-op diet since last week but I ate Saturday and Sunday, and begun again faithly on Monday. I have lost 5 lbs. I was actually to fit into a blouse I had not worn in along time because it was too tight. This really made me feel good. I am happy now to see some results. How is everyone else doing????

  4. I am a patient at True Results in Houston. I had my pre-op on April 23. I am waiting for Surgery Date. I have called Dr's office since appointment and no date yet. I am a little anxious. I was not sure when to start my pre-op so I started Tuesday. But I was not given an offical diet. So I am following what I hear from you all. I am getting a little discouraged.

  5. I started the Pre-op diet on Tuesday, I have not yet been scheduled for surgury, but I know it will be the week of May 10 or 17. I have not been able to talk to any one at the Dr's office to get the acurate diet so I have doing what I have read here. But I am hungry. Does anyone have any ideas as to what eat in between meals to keep you satified? Please help with any advice that you would like to share with me. Thanks

  6. Hello Lace. Surgery was fine. The gas pains they talk about afterwards are very real. It helped me to do the heating pad on my back. I did not have it in my shoulder just the middle of my back. I was also lucky enough to have a hernia that needed to be repaired. so with that came some chest pain and hard to catch my breath. Not a hard time breathing but taking the deep breath.

Yesterday was surgery date for me 3/8/09 and today my incisions hurt but the gas pains are gone. Just remember to walk every 90 mins or so.

I am not going to sugar coat it really hurt yesterday. I am still taking my pain meds on a regular bases. I have had my Mom here to help with my kids which has been a God send. I had a hard time sitting in the recliner. Lying in my bed on my side was the best for me.

As for getting in fluids I have not had a problem. I mixed in some clear Protein drink so I did not feel hungry that worked. I have target brand orange, banana, strawberry sugar-free drink mix with Isopure alpine punch. It tastes alright.

I guess my one big piece of advice for the first day out is to have someone around to help even if you do not have kids.

When is your surgery? If I can answer any other questions let me know. I am very excited to get this journey started.

Well, I am glad to hear you are doing good. I am very excited for you. My surgury will be sometime in April. My last appointment is March 26. Keep my informed as to how you are doing. Take care and get lots of rest.
