    Thank you!
  4. Hello all and thank you for reading. So here is my deal probably pretty stupid compared to some but it bothers me. I have almost lost 50 lbs since Feb 12, 2010, when I started my pre op diet till now being about 1 month post op. That's good, I know but I can’t see it! Its killing me that everyone else can see it and I can’t. It’s frustrating! I almost feel like they are lying about seeing a difference because if there was one of course I would see it first, right!? I went down a pant size but I’m still in the same size shirts and everything else. My double chin is just as double....sigh..... I know, I'm just expecting too much from 50 lbs and as I'm writing this I'm telling myself, you have to be patient. It’s just annoying taking a picture and putting it next to one at your heaviest and seeing no difference and even though the scale is moving it’s disheartening to see. There is my rant I’m sorry. Thanks again for reading.

Thank you so much for your response! Even though I knew I was being silly you really put it into perspective. I guess it takes someone you don't know telling you to really get it. Again thank you and I am going to say what you said to remind me when I'm beating myself up over silly things.
  6. Hey there I'm doing wonderfully I was banded on the 24th of Feb and it has been going well. I will be on regular foods the 24th of this month! Omg I just realized that today is your surgery date, I hope everything went well. I havent logged on for a while so im sorry im just now responding please keep me updated and let me know how you are doing!

  7. So I had my surgery on Feb. 24th and the first night I slept fine but it seems that Im getting less sleep every night. Last night was my first night without my mom here watching over me since surgery and I swear I was up since 3 am finally at 5am I decided to go ahead and just get up. Unfortunately I suffer from anxiety attacks but have been able to manage them and haven't had any real events in a while. Well I did last night I'm still shaken up and Im feeling kinda nauseous. Im thinking that most of my uncomfortableness is coming from having to sleep on my back, which I hate. I can fall asleep but staying asleep ummm not so much. Im a wreck right now. Im even going so far as to question my decision to have the lap-band. Minor set back Im sure but what do yall recommend?:cursing:
  8. Im so glad to know Im not alone. I actually can sleep on my side a little here and there but I wake up and its a bit painful. I came downstairs and wrote this post and then somehow got comfy on the couch and fell asleep for a couple hours. I think maybe I will just do that tonight, sleep on the couch that is. I did take simply sleep and that usually knocks me out but yeah I still woke up last night. Thank you for your advice and I hope to report a good nights sleep soon.
  9. Im feeling pretty sore and I think my stomach is a little confused to say the least. Im not sure if Im having hunger pains or just feeling bloated. Im sure this isn't abnormal, but is anyone else feeling or felt the same way or have any advice?

    Day 2!!!

Thank you for your response. Like you I am sure I will begin to learn what each pain or sensation is. I know that I definitely do not have an appetite as of right now just feeling kind of gassy. I have to eat Clear liquids and juices for a weak and then onto cream Soups etc. then onto week 3-4 soft foods such as mashies, yogurt, and pudding. Good luck on our weight loss journey!
  11. Glad to have you! Our surgeries are pretty close Im on the 24th, its good to know people going through the same thing especially around the same time. Are you on your pre op diet right now? Btw we have a group for people getting the band in February. We're Feb's Funky Bandits, here's the link>>LAP-BAND

    Bloggers! :)

Hey there I will definitely check out your blog here is mine >> That Girl's Blog Good luck and I hope you find out your surgery date soon.
  13. Well I am one week into my pre op diet and I have to now stop and start all over again in a few weeks. Why? Well now I have to have a surgical endometrial biopsy the day I was suppose to have Lap-Band surgery :smile2: In a way im happy that they are trying to figure out what is making my uterus go wacko, for the lack of a better term. Although I'm still sad that I have to wait till March 9th instead Feb 9th to have my lap band procedure. This may sound pretty corny to some but I believe everything happens for a reason. So I ill just try and make the best of this, cross my figures and hope that all is well and just go with the flow. Thanks for listening.

    Sleep Apnea

Well I did my sleep study last night and I now know I have severe sleep apnea. I just cant believe it. The news hit me hard and it still is. Honestly when I went in I wasnt prepared for the outcome because I was certain I didnt have any breathing problems. I have been crying for most of the day and Im feeling really down. I think I will research this some more and maybe I wont be so scared. I have a cpap sleep study again on the 26th. Im not looking forward to it I hate how uncomfortable I am with all those wires on and that goo in my hair but my tech was awesome. Anyone else who has sleep apnea?I could really use some support from someone who has gone or going through this. Thanks everyone
  15. Hello everyone, I started my pre-op diet on Wed the 27th my surgery date is scheduled for the 10th of Feb. They instructed me to keep it low carb and low sugar and to drink a protein shake for breakfast and lunch, I chose atkins advantage they are bearable. Then I can have a lean protein for dinner with a low carb veggie. I have had cilantro and lime chicken, baked chicken, I bought some fish and some tenderloin, this was all listed on my paper as lean meats, and then some. Only now Im seriously dreaming of carbs. I swear I only want carbs so bad because I know I cant have them. Last night I had a dream that I was on a cruise and I was eating ever carb in sight at the buffet lol I mean come on is this normal!?! I was telling my friend its like I went cold turkey on crack or something (just say no to drugs!) I know this is the pre-op diet but even after the band you have to be cautious of starchy carb filled foods. Its a life style change I know this but I didn't think it make me have withdraws :glare: Anyone else feeling the same way about carbs or any other food you cant have?
  16. Im drinking Atkins Advantage, not the best tasting but I doubt you will find anything delicious.
  17. I wish I had a answer for you I have to do a two week pre-op diet but its not nearly as strict as yours. All docs are different I guess. I suggest that if you are not sure you should call and talk to someone, either your doc or a nurse in his/her office. I wouldn't leave questions unanswered especially if you're concerned. Best of Luck!

    Sleep Apnea?!?

LOL I felt the same way pissed/sad! I have my second sleep study tomorrow and I am NOT looking forward to it. In all honesty though with everyones input here I am feeling a lot better then I did before. It seems like its more of a good thing then anything. Yeah it may not be comfortable nor attractive lol but Im sure I can learn to love or at least accept it like most have. Im very anxious but now Im even more certain about my decision to get the LAP-BAND.

Thank you so much for sharing it really means alot. I've heard so many good things and now Im not so freaked out anymore. Sleep Apnea?!?

Thank you all sooooo much yall honestly put me more at ease. I was a little scared to fall asleep tonight but now I feel much better. I am suppose to be banded on Feb 10th but that may get pushed back because of my anemia. How does having sleep apnea effect the LAP-BAND® surgery? I haven't spoke to a doctor yet It just all seems so confusing all of my appointments are set up by True Results ( the company im getting my Lap-Band through) and the Apnea testing is done by a third party doc in Dallas but they have a tech there in Austin. A lady from that docs office called me today to tell me I had severe sleep apnea and that I stopped breathing about 47 times in a hour and that someone will be getting in contact with me after my 2nd study to get me set up with a cpap. It was a lot to take in honestly, I was still in shock and didn't think to ask a lot of questions but I plan on asking a lot more questions when I see them next week. Again thank you all for sharing your stories and words of encouragement. I will do my best to keep yall informed.

    Chit Chat

Just thought I will start chit chat thread, if you have something you would like to share please feel free to share it here. I have a sleep study coming up on the 20th and I cant imagine I will be able to sleep at all especially when I know someone is watching me sleep. Granted its not some creepy person outside fogging up my window LOL but I still will know they are watching me. Not to mention all of the cables and cords that I'm sure will be hooked up to me, how do they expect me to sleep?:w00t: I'm sure a lot of you have had to do one of these things, how was your experience?
