  1. :wink2:So glad someone started this thread as I was thinking along the same lines. I was banded on 1/21. I followed the post-op diet strictly for about 9 days and then was so hungry and no energy that I started back on reg. food. Too soon, I know but I also haven't felt any restriction(the PA told me that there's between 2 and 3 ccs in my band right now and first fill will add 2-3 more)....a little bloated and too full sometimes but no sickness. I guess I know I'm kind of playing with fire but it was all I could do to gag down the shakes and yogurt for the 2 weeks pre-op and the week post-op. Anyway, I go for my first fill on 2/15 and am hoping that I get some restriction then. Anyone else not following the strict guidelines? I know I'll have the most success with the low cal/low fat "healthy" foods that I hate but I'd love to know if anyone is having success based only on the restriction/limited portions vs. following a strict low cal/low fat diet.

I was banded on 1/27/10. I go for my 1st fill on 2/15 as well and I have been eating regular food for the last few day with no problems. There is no restriction. I have gained about 5 lbs back of the 24 I originally lost. That is not making me happy. I am having a hard time sticking to the plan late at night when everyone is asleep. I have to start exercising too....dancing with the stars dance video is great fun. I just want have some restriction soon!

  2. Ok, it's done, no turning back now! I have the steristrips to prove it. Oh my Gosh that surgery was very painful. When I came to, I was yelling out in pain. I did not know that the gas they put in you for the surgery would be so painful. They maxed me out with Fentanyl and antiemetic meds. Take it from me, when they say get up and move, you move. It is the only thing that will help. I also found that a heating pad made it much more comfortable too. I did have some nausea that day and woke up the next day with it too, but moving around and drinking cold fluids helped. I am glad that I did this, but had no idea that my 2 c-sections would hurt less. :)

  3. I am going to join the ranks of bandsterhood on Wednesday 1/27/10!!! I am excited and have lost 14lbs. so far. I have today and tomorrow of my preop to drop more pounds. I too was afraid of getting surgery cancelled. They want your abdomen and liver to shrink to make the surgery safer. I am nervous about the post surgery diet. I like someones suggestion about adding tofu to the pureed diet and soft food diet to add some Protein. I am having mine done in Daytona Beach Florida too by the way. I am nervous:thumbup: but excited!!!!!!

  4. Hello, I am Laura from Deland, FL. I am starting my 3 week liquid diet on 1/6/10. I am being banded on 1/27/10. This is so crazy...I still cant believe that I am doing this. I am totally excited about it, but scared...not about the surgery itself, but leaving large uncontrolled portions behind. I love food, but its about time I love myself more!:rolleyes2:
