Already Feeling Discouraged
I would add in some more calories. 600 is way too low and your body may not lose if it thinks your starving it. Try putting skim or 2% milk in your protein shakes.

August Rush in bandland!
I get my next fill Tuesday. Hopefully that will help me lose some more. Not sure if that will help my belly though.

August Rush in bandland!
That's great Beachbunny! I've had people pointing out to me that I need smaller pants. I've been wearing belts so my pants stay up just fine but I have a terribly saggy butt. So I went down a size. Now my butt isn't saggy anymore but my belly is accentuated. I look like I'm a little pregnant:( I guess it's time to start working out more.

Does getting stuck= adequate restriction??
I never, ever drink with my meals. I went from being full on a cup of food to starving after eating just a cup of food. That's why I was thinking I need a fill but then my cousin just confused me more.

Does getting stuck= adequate restriction??
I can eat pork chops, hamburger meat, hamburger patties and chicken if it's in a casserole but it still takes a good bit to fill me up and I get hungry soon after.

Does getting stuck= adequate restriction??
I'm confused. For the past 3 weeks I'm starving all the time and I can eat way more than I should. I'm also hungry again within 2 1/2 hours of eating a meal. I feel like my restriction is gone. I can eat everything easily except roast, chicken breast and steak. When those go down I feel a pain in my chest. They don't actually get stuck but they do hurt. My cousin who's been banded over a year now says that means I don't need another fill. I have another fill scheduled for Tuesday though so is she right?

August Rush in bandland!
I've lost like 4.5 pounds in the past 3 weeks. I just don't have enough restriction. I go Tuesday for my third fill. I'm hoping that will help.

Severe Leg Pains
I've had knee pain for 11 years now. If you have insurance I suggest you see an orthopedic doctor. Mine hurt all day long. I have what's called patellofemoral knee pain. It will never go away completely but it's more manageable now that I have a specialist working with me on it. For me the best thing I've found for it is Tylenol BUT you have to get the Arthritis pain formula. It's the strongest Tylenol you can buy. It does wonders for my knees.

Saw the doc yesterday about my tiredness..
It's not a big pill. It's pretty easy to swallow. I'm just concerned about taking it daily b/c of the effects on your heart and the fact that it is a controlled substance. It's $20 a month on my insurance.

Saw the doc yesterday about my tiredness..
One more quick question: Even though my labs where good do you think it still might help to add in a good B-12 supplement? I'll ask my bariatric doc Tuesday but the only problem with asking him is of course his bariatric counselor tries to sell you her products specifically. I have no idea what brand of Vitamins they even carry.

Saw the doc yesterday about my tiredness..
Hmmmm, well my blood work was all completely normal so if it's not related to my sleep apnea then her only advice is to take the Nuvigil daily:( My B12, Iron and TSH were all great. She doesn't really think it is related to my sleep apnea though. I see my bariatric surgeon Tuesday so I'll ask him about it. I'm getting discouraged:(

The worst timing!
Me too. I think Cobra only applies if you lose your job and then it applies to the current insurance company=not the previous one.

The worst timing!
Go back and talk to your HR department and tell them what Cigna told you. They should be able to clarify it for you. Have you met all of Cigna's pre op requirements yet? Have they given you a letter of approval?

Saw the doc yesterday about my tiredness..
I have hypothyroidism. My last labs were done 8 weeks ago and they actually showed I was on too MUCH Synthroid. I also have sleep Apnea. She said it could be that my thyroid meds are now too low, or it could be that my sleep apnea is getting worse. She doesn't really think it's my sleep apnea though she said it should get better now and not worse. She did labs yesterday to check my Thyroid levels, blood count, Iron and B12. Those should be back today. If they are all good then she will do an overnight Oximetry study which basically will show what my O2 levels are doing while I'm sleeping. If they aren't good then I'll do another sleep study. In the meantime- I had a hysterectomy in September. They left my ovaries but my Ob/Gyn said they still could shut down for a while. So are there any female hormones that would make me feel so tired/sleepy all the time? She also gave me some Nuvigil. It's supposed to help give you energy and wake you up. She said if all tests are negative than I should just try the Nuvigil and see what it does. Any thoughts/advice? They should call back today about my labs. I'm sort of hoping it is my Thyroid or my iron, or my B12 or a combo of it all. I'm hoping it's not my sleep apnea at all.

Medi weight loss clinic diet!
Why spend that kind of money when you are already banded? My surgeon says when you stall to go back to a liquid diet for 1 to 2 weeks.

About to have a melt down here...
Thanks everyone! I have an appt tomorrow with my family doc. Hopefully she can get some answers for me.

August Rush in bandland!
Woot! I called my surgeon and told them my last fill didn't do a thing for me so they moved my next up to next Tuesday! Yay! Only one more week to go:)

Cpap -- to use or not to use...
Honestly it takes getting used to. It was probably 3 months before I could wear mine all night. I would pull it off in my sleep b/c I felt smothered. The hospital never cared that I have sleep apnea or that I didn't bring a CPap. It was a non issue with the anesthesiologist. If your feeling really tired or have high blood pressure the CPap will help with that though. It will just take you time to adjust to it.
