  1. I've been using MyFitness Pal on my IPhone to track everything I eat and drink. As long as I stick to 1200 calories a day my weight loss is consistent. But I've noticed I lose even more if I stick to 50 grams of carbs a day and 1200 calories. Out of curiosity I got some of those test strips for urine that test for ketosis. At 50 grams of carbs a day and 1200 calories i reach and stay in ketosis. Is that a good or bad idea? Or should I just count calories and ignore the carbs?
  2. Well I'm the same way lately. Dh told me last night that I need to start putting the kids to bed earlier if I was going to keep this up. :blushing:
  3. do soft foods or liquids for a couple of days or resume eating normally? Last Sunday I had a stuck episode and I had to do liquids for a few days after that b/c solids wouldn't stay down. I had another stuck episode a few minutes ago and I'm wondering should I try again later to eat regular food or go to soft stuff instead? Today I wasn't chewing well enough. Last weeks was from the food being really dry.
  4. That's not bad at all and it sounds yummy!! I love the pineapple flavored Greek Yogurt but they don't sell it here anymore:( I just make my own with pineapple and plain greek yogurt.
  5. I currently have 6.5 cc's in a 10 cc band. My last fill was over a month ago. That said I have days where I can eat everything in sight and I'm hungry all day long. Then I have days where I'm not very hungry and I have a lot of stuck issues. The thing is my doc says if you are able to eat 65 grams of Protein a day and over 900 calories then you need more fill. I'm limiting myself to 1200 a day and some days I have 90 grams of protein. But I'm afraid if I get any more put in my band I won't be able to eat at all. Something got stuck on Sunday and I had to go back to liquids for 3 days b/c I couldn't keep any solids down after that. What do I do?
  6. Thanks ladies. Also I'm wondering, how much weight do you lose from the tummy tuck itself? I mean I know it won't be a huge amount but all that skin does weigh something right?
  7. I'm down to 178. I only have about 30 more pounds to lose. Should I wait until I'm at goal before doing my TT?? I've had 3 kids so belly is awfully flabby and stretched out. I'd like to have the smoothest flattest stomach possible:)
  8. I had 3 cc's put in at surgery then I got 1 more cc after that I get .5 each fill.
  9. Oh and I'm not exercising either:( I know I should but I have 3 kids, a dh that's always working and I'm in college full time. Between classes, the kids and homework I honestly have no extra time right now.
  10. Well as of this week my BMI is now Overweight instead of Obese:) I'm getting there. Though this week my band is wonky and I'm on liquids until Thursday. It's swollen or something and I can't hold down any food only liquids. I'm hoping that resolves by Thursday and there's not any real problem.
  11. Okay I talked my surgeons nurse. I'm on liquids until Thursday. If I can't keep food down by lunch time on Thursday then I have to go to the surgeons office. The nurse thinks I've irritated my band and it's swollen now. If that's right it should be better by Thursday if I stick to solids until then
  12. Okay I've tried to eat twice today. Both times I got stuck immediately. I can hold down liquids just fine but no food. It comes back up every time. Should I just go back to liquids for a couple of days and see if it gets better? I haven't had a fill since January so there's not anything new going on. I've been able to eat just fine so am I maybe just swelled?
  13. Okay it happened again this morning. I took my morning meds with about 10 oz of Water. I took them seperately rather than swallowing them all at one time. On the way to take my shower I started feeling like a pill was stuck. I ended up throwing up 3 times in the 15 minutes after that. Each time it was just water and no pills. After the third time I felt fine again. I have 2 weeks out of the month where I will feel tight like this and then 2 weeks in a row where I feel completely loose and can eat anything and everything I want. So am I overfilled or do I just need to slow down more or what?
  14. I keep feeling like my band is full of air. It's hard to describe but this morning for example. It fell like it was full of air, like I needed to burp. I was drinking my coffee and taking my morning meds and I suddenly felt this odd feeling. I thought my pills were stuck. I ended up throwing up but it was only a small amount of coffee and no pills. I felt great afterwards. Lately when I eat I notice that I get hiccups a lot also. Is all this normal? I don't use straws or drink carbonated beverages so where is the extra air coming from?
  15. You could also check into a 401K loan if you or your spouse has one. The interest on those are very, very low. I know I looked at CareCredit at first and sometimes they offer the first 6,12, or 18 months with no interest. You might ask about that. That would at least give you some time to pay towards the principle before the interest starts kicking in. Another thing, just keep checking with different surgeons. We actually have one in my area that will do the band for $8900 in Mexico. That includes your plain ticket, all hospital charges and hotel accomodations plus one year of fills.

  17. Definitely go bra shopping! I recently got a few Victoria's Secret bras and my boobs actually look full now and high rather than saggy.
  18. How long was it before you were back to most activities??? I have 3 kids and I'm wanting to do both at the same time also. By the time I get it done my kids will be 1, 5, and 10. How many weeks should I plan to need help with the two little ones?
  19. LOL! Glad you're feeling better! Try some Miralax in your coffee every morning. It does the trick and has no flavor.
  20. I'm using My Fitness Pal on my iPhone to track my daily calories. My nutrients always look good except for my daily calcium and iron. It says I'm only getting like 20% of my daily limit. I take a multiple vitamin already. Should I take an iron and calcium supplement also?
  21. I wonder that also. My band is 10 cc's but I'm wondering how much extra can they put in one without it popping. Anybody?
  22. I measure my food. When it's gone I stop eating. But I'm not getting a full feeling at all. I'm hungry again before an hour goes by which is why I have 2 snacks a day also.
