  1. You are definitely right about being fickle. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon.
  2. Okay I saw my doc this morning. He said my band is not too tight. He said it's actually at the perfect fill level for me. He said I'm eating too fast and that's why I'm fine some days and sick on others. He said if I were too tight I would throw up every day and not just some days. He said I can either learn to eat slower or he could do a slight unfill. I chose to wait it out and start eating slower instead. He's very happy with my progress though and he said I'm right on track.
  3. If you don't want to miss the campout then you should reschedule your surgery. You won't feel like going and you won't be able to drive for at least 24 hours due to the anesthesia.
  4. I'm sorry to hear that but at least your doc is giving you options. I hope you feel better soon.
  5. There are people who lose all there weight with no fill in their band. They have restriction just from the band itself.
  6. That's the thing- some days I can and somedays I can't. Why the variation?
  7. Last Sunday, not yesterday but a week ago, I got a pill partially stuck. For 4 hours after that I couldn't keep down anything. Not even liquids. It all came back up. Then I guess it finally passed because I was fine again. On Monday I was okay but having a little pain when I swallowed my food-like band pain. Then on Tuesday I decided to just go back to liquids for a few days thinking I was swelled so I did that. On Wednesday I had 4 oz of my Protein Shake and it came back up. So I called my doc. He felt that I was swelled up from my stuck episode and he put me back on liquids. I stayed on liquids Wednesday and Thursday then on Friday I had mashed potatoes, potato salad and some really tender grilled chicken. It all went down with no problems. Saturday I stuck with soft foods again and then I yesterday I ate like normal. I had spiral ham, fresh raw brocolli, carrot sticks and cucumbers, some Beans and some Pork carnita meat. It all went down just fine- no problems, no pain. This morning I had my coffee and took my medications and I was fine. At 11 am I tried to eat some Chobani yogurt. I got 3/4 of it down and I started feeling sick/stuck. I ended up throwing up. I thought maybe I ate it too fast so at 2 pm I tried some small bites of ham. It hurt going down and I threw it up. I called my doc's office and the receptionist put me in for tomorrow at 10 am. She says it sounds like I'm too tight. My last fill was 2 weeks ago. Since then I've gone out to eat and had normal meals and I had normal meals yesterday. So what's up? Do you think I'm eating too fast or am I really too tight/full? In the past 14 days I have been able to eat normally for only 5 of them. How come I was fine on those days and then so stuck on others?
  8. Those of you with thyroid diseases- If you have hypothyroid have your meds been increased or decreased with your weight loss? MY PCP seems to think my meds should decrease-I'm not sure why because I only weighed 115 pounds when my thyroid initially swelled up and slowed down. I think of the thyroid issue as not really weight related. Anyway, my surgeon says he does bariatric and thyroid surgeries. He says my meds should increase as my weight goes down. Any thoughts?
  9. Your welcome! I used to do medical billing and it's all based on the codes they use. Hopefully they will cover it for you!
  10. It's supposed to be extended release/24 hours. I take mine in the morning.
  11. There's also an online store called Nashua Nutrition that does samples. They offer all kinds of samples from Syntrax to BSN to Matrix. They are cheap and they offer fast shipping.
  12. Yum! I precook meat and season it with taco seasoning. Then I put it into Ziploc bags and freeze it. If you freeze it in 3 oz portions you can thaw it in the microwave in 3 minutes or less:)
  13. I'm on it for depression BUT it has given me energy, curbed my appetite and helped with my cravings. It is actually known to cause weight loss in most people. I love it and the pills I got are very small.
  14. Ask your surgeon which CPT code he bills his fills under and then call them back with that code. My surgeon uses 99214 which is just an office visit. If your surgeon bills that way then yes they should cover it.
  15. Yes they sure do. The Wellbutrin also gives me tons of energy.
  16. I agree the Syntrax is awesome! You can call there 800 number and get the samples. I think I paid around $11 for mine and there were a BUNCH of different flavors.
  17. I was able to eat some grilled chicken for supper. I had almost a whole leg quarter minus the skin and then I got full. It went down good with no pain so hopefully I'm good now. When I called my surgeon on Wednesday I thought I was too tight but he thought it was just swelling. I'm supposed to call again on Monday and let them know how I'm feeling.
  18. I'm on a combo of Prozac and Wellbutrin. I haven't gained weight from either of them.
  19. I got stuck on a pill this past Sunday. After that I couldn't keep anything down. About 4 hours after I got stuck it finally passed. I was able to eat then but it hurt going down. So on Wednesday I went back on liquids. My surgeon said to take it easy and do liquids and then soft foods. Today I'm doing soft foods. Here's my question- I got a fill last week and after that fill I'm burping a lot. Right now I can eat about 1/4 cup of soft foods and then I get a bad pain in my chest- Not a stuck pain but of more a really need to burp badly pain. Does that mean I'm full or what? Is that even normal? When I first start eating everything goes down fine. No problems, no pain. It's after I get about 1/4 cup down when I start having the pain sensation.
  20. They are extended release so they can't be cut in half. I hope your feeling better soon.
  21. Is it liquid filled? If it is it's a blister and should go away in a few days. Try rinsing with warm salt Water 3-4 times a day. That will help dry it up faster.
  22. Okay guys I have arthritis in my knees. I was taking Tylenol Arthritis Pain for it and it worked wonders. Now my band is too tight to swallow them though:( Suggestions on what else I can try?
  23. Oh yes I get the dreaded hiccups also! My one year old thinks it's hilarious
  24. Oh how awful! I hope you get approved again and can have an awesome experience this time.
