  1. I'm craving something rich and sweet so badly but for me sweets are a binge food so I haven't let myself have anything. 1 candy bar turns into another, and then a cookie or two or three and so on. I'm doing good so far but I'm still craving something terribly. Any tips or advice?
  2. I have turkey sausage or greek yogurt if I eat anything. Most mornings It's just a protein shake and coffee.
  3. I have UHC choice plus. I was told that MOST UHC plans require a 6 month supervised diet before approval. My insurance is through my husband's work. My husband's work doesn't put strict criteria on weight loss surgery. My BMI was 37 and I had sleep apnea and high blood pressure. I was approved within one week of my papers being submitted. I did have to do a dietician eval and psych eval first though.
  4. FINALLY! I guess I was still swollen. Yesterday I was able to get all my Protein drinks in, 4 small servings of soft/mushy foods and my daily meds and it all went down with no problems. Today I will try the same thing and if all goes well then tomorrow I may try something else. I'm hoping maybe I was just extremely swollen and won't need an unfill. My vehicle is currently in the shop AND my babysitter is tied up Tuesday. Getting another unfill would entail borrowing a vehicle and dragging all 3 of my kiddos with me. I was not looking forward to it. It will be a long time before I get another fill, that is for sure.
  5. ((HUGS)) I hope you feel better soon.
  6. I had a vaginal hysterectomy back in September. My Ob/Gyn said that the anesthesiologist required the band to be empty. Something about being able to get a tube down your throat if they need to.
  7. He's not concerned though. He says as long as I can swallow my spit then I'm okay until Tuesday. I just called the ER and they said all they would do for me was IV fluids. They don't do unfills and they said they will call the surgeon and let him know I'm there but he still won't come there and unfill me. My surgeon isn't even on call this weekend. It's someone else instead.
  8. Almost 2 weeks ago I went for a fill. He added .5 cc's. After that I threw up constantly and was in pain. I went back this past Monday and he removed .2. After that I drink easier with no pain so I thought that fixed it. He said to do liquids for 24 hours and then eat after that. So 24 hours later I tried eating some soft food. It went down fine but the last little bit got stuck and I started throwing up again so I went back to liquids. On Wednesday I could only drink very small amounts. By yesterday I was able to drink more and I managed to get all my Protein shakes in for the day. I thought I had finally turned a corner. Then this morning I slowly drank my Protein shake. I got half of it down and started sliming and threw up. Now nothing wants to stay down-again. I called the docs office and they said Monday is a holiday so they will see me Tuesday for an unfill. I'm starting to get worried. I mean is un fill really all I need? Before that initial .5 fill that got me too tight I was able to eat everything and anything and was hungry constantly. Now I can eat nothing. I've gone from 176 to 165 and I'm still losing. Since my shake was liquid shouldn't have gone down instead of getting stuck? I'm not in pain so that's a good sign right? No pain just vomiting? TMI but ever since this started my urine stays dark and thick so I'm assuming that even though I can get some liquids down I'm still not getting enough down.
  9. It is an antacid/anti reflux med. If you have issues taking it in applesauce the pharmacy can compound it into a liquid. My baby took it for months that way.
  10. It would be awesome if my doc had someone on call like that. My weekend was miserable. I was so sore and uncomfortable and on top of that I was sneezing my head off and our darn lights went out for 13 hours on Saturday after a storm so I was burning up, sneezing my head off and my chest was hurting so badly from the throwing up. It was just a sucky weekend.
  11. I would think you are a bit too tight. Even a slight unfill could do wonders for you.
  12. They had me drink but I didn't feel really tight until about an hour after my fill. Today he removed .2 cc's and I feel so much better! I can drink cold stuff with no pain and eat mushies. Before he did the unfill I was hurting and had lots of foamy stuff coming up. Now it's all gone. I do still have some reflux but I'm hoping that will get better also.
  13. What do you think about this suit? I want something that covers my thighs but is still cute:) http://www.onehanesplace.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product__10151_-1_11001_119750_24557 The $75.00 is quite a lot though. Opinions?
  14. Thanks everyone! The funny thing was when I got my fill in February he said we need to go really slow because your getting close and he did just .2 cc's. Then the other day he's like your getting so close I'm only going to do .5 cc's. I was like what? I expected another .1 or .2 cc's.
  15. So far I've tried the peanut butter, vanilla custard and caramel. Those are all good. I'm wanting to get the Marshmallow next.
  16. Woot! That went down with no issues:) I'll probably wait until tomorrow morning and try some watery mushies. If they stay down then I may just go slow and keep waiting it out. Right now I'm just happy that the pain is gone.
  17. I've never been a huge fan of the Torani or DaVinci syrups but I found these drops that are awesome! They are called Capella flavor drops. You use 1 drop per oz of liquid. They taste awesome and the bottles are tiny so they don't take up much space. I've tried them in my coffee and protein shakes. I plan to try them in my plain greek yogurt. http://capellaflavordrops.com/flavordrops.aspx
  18. I'm going to try a thin/watery protein shake for now and see how that goes. I'm able to drink more today also. Like volume wise. I was only able to do 1/8 cup every hour but I'm able to do a cup to cup and half per hour now. Not chugging it all at one time but drinking it slowly.
  19. Now what? The foaming and sliming has stopped. I'm no longer in pain and I can drink hot or cold liquids with no problems. So was it just swelling or do I still need a slight unfill? For now I'm not taking any chances. I'm sticking with the Clear Liquids and I will call and talk to the nurse about it tomorrow. I will say I feel 100% better compared to Friday. Still too scared to try anything thicker than liquids though.
  20. I stayed in my recliner a lot at first. It was easier that way. Congratulations!!
  21. Honestly I think I would try the sleeve. It was offered to me when I chose the band but I was scared of. Now that I've researched more if anything ever happens to my band I'll be going with the sleeve.
  22. Did you end up with an unfill when you were like this?
  23. I was allowed canned meats on the mushie stage. I love canned ham with a little low fat mayo mixed in.
