  1. I was baned on the same day! COngrats!!! YOU ARE DOING SOOOO WELLL!!!!! AMAZING!!! SOund slike you have had lots of will power in progress and I think it is just incredible. I had my first fill on 1/14/10 and felt some restriction for about one week and now not a much. I guess we just try and get the right amount and it is all so different for each individual. If no one has told you, you are just making such great progress, KEEP IT UP!
  2. Ihadn't been under anesthesia since the age of 5, when I got my tonsils out. You will be amazed at quickly you recover! I did experience some discomfort form the gas they pumped me up with but that went away within a day or two. Best wish and God Bless you!

    HOPING first fill will help...?????

Hello there! I was 4 weeks post op yesterday (1/8/10) I am scheduled to see my doc this Thursday the 14th. I understand what you mean regarding thinking about food and feeling a bit hungry. There are times when I definitley feel full and satiated, but it isn't all the time. I think my biggest hurdle is wanting to eat fast and take big bites like I used to. I think it is just hard to know what is "normal" at this point because it is all so new and very individual. I think we just have to praise ourselves for being brave enough to make the decision to be banded and follow through. It really is a one day at a time journey. I have found it fun to be more creative with food and try to find new and nutritious recipes and try them. Just be easy with yourself and enjoy those scale and non-scale victories; you are not alone. God Bless you!

    Metformin

I was on Metformin prior to surgery. My endo Dr. took me off my Met and Avandia starting the day of surgery. I was also taking Lantus and she added Novalog to make up for the MEt and Avandia, until I get on solids or until I see her again March. I have to crush the larger Metformin pills, but am able to take the small Avandia.

    2 wks post op

I tried posting earlier, but not sure if it worked. If not, here goes again. I was banded 12/11/09. So far, no issues and feeling fantastic. My blood sugar numbers are lower than they were a month ago. Very happy I made this decision. My physician is, Dr. Neal, in Olympia, Wa. Very kind man, experienced and very informed. The folks at Capitol Medical Center were so wonderful. Will try and post from time to time. I checked this site out prior to surgery and much of the advice has been, VERY helpful. Happy New year!
