  1. If you have Doubts then hold off on surgery....it's a life changing miracle but its also a pain in the butt at times! Try. Try your hardest, give it everything you've got to take control and give yourself the healthy happy life you deserve. But know that if you can't do it, there is this amazing tool available. Just don't wait til you are miserable and have bad health problems....if you do the surgery having doubts, you'll always have that doubt hanging over you. GOOD LUCK!!!! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8
  2. So I just bought size 14 pants (no W!), a couple size large shirts (no X or XX or XXX) and a 38 DDD bra (from a 46 D) the boob thing has me totally shocked!
  3. In a strange bra sizing quirk, I've gone from 46D to 40 DD. I guess they girls aren't shrinking as fast as the rest of me!
  4. My son commented that I don't get 'the look' any more....the glazed eye expression you get when you realize something hadn't gone down correctly and you're trying to decide if you're gonna be okay or it's gonna come back up.....thank goodness I don't get that look any more!!!!!! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8
  5. Benehana's!!!! Yummy!!!! Split the shrimp, chicken, fillet combo with my son, still only ate about half of my half and that was too much and I was miserably full but ohhhhhh so good. (I could NOT eat rice when I had my lap-band total celebration that I caveat Benihana rice again) HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8
  6. Same way with dating, always settle because I figure its all I can get...that said, if I hadn't married my loser ex-husband I wouldn't have my amazing son....I won't settle again, but I'm glad I did in that case (also glad karma kicked his ass) HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8
  7. I dump with simple carbs if I get too many without protein, greasy foods make me queasy...other then that I can eat anything. Chicken breast, steak, bread, pasta....I have the pouch of steel!!!! (No complaints!!!) I've thrown up twice, once car sick, once sea sick....nothing food related. I'm about 4 1/2 months post. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8
  8. Yeah,I had part of a real live coke today....whip me, beat me, but damn it was good. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8
  9. Just type their MFP screen name where the email goes, it'll find em. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8
  10. I actually had a VERY long discussion yesterday with someone about why she would never do it because she'd rather be fat then have saggy skin....this from a diabetic on insulin, in her 50s who has to get a cart at Walmart because she can't walk that far...I really think she's afraid she'll fail, even with RNY and the skin thing is just an excuse but it was such a sad conversation. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8
  11. Yes, yes, me too!!!! It's a pain in the butt, literally!!!!' It's gotta be the lack of padding. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8
  12. So I have this friend...love her dearly, one of my biggest supporters, had RNY about 4 years ago, frequently likes to remind me that she lost a pound a day, almost every day for 3 months...this always after she asks how I'm doing. Granted, she had WAY more to lose then I do but still occasionally want to strangle her, even though I love her! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8
  13. I keep seeing people with weight problems and have the urge to run over and start extolling the virtues of RNY...eventually I'm going to slip and say 'OMG have you ever thought about getting a gastric bypass?!?!' And someone is gonna slap me! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8
  14. At the pool with my kiddo and I'm not even close to being the biggest one here. Hallelujah!!!!!
  15. My heating pad was the love of my life for 6 weeks....even took it to work. I swear by it!
  16. I am so jealous!!! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8
  17. Oh I feel your pain! 4 months out, the misery and mental anguish are still fresh in my brain....then someone that had surgery about the same time would post that they'd lost 18 pounds that first week and I'd wants to kill them....been there, done that, bought the t-shirt . I'm 4 months and 48 pounds down which is so slow compared to so many but I feel so good!!! I can eat solid meat, chicken, veggies, fruits, bread, Pasta in small amounts (until I feel full essentially) and nothing causes me pain or gets stuck....I'll take it!!! But I about drove myself crazy the first couple weeks expecting things my body just wouldn't do! Buckle up and enjoy the ride!!!!! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8
  18. Time, grasshopper, time....it will come. Follow your plan and you'll be fine. Fretting does nothing but make you crazy and miserable!!! You are you and your body will lose at it it's own pace and in its own way...but it will come if you're doing what you should it really feels like you should lose 20 pounds that first week. You've eaten nothing!!! But our bodies are resourceful and know how to hang on to ever ounce when stressed. Take a deep breath, you'll be okay! HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 206.8
  19. Really truly not much!!! My own pillow (heaven at the hospital and nice to hug on the drive home), Chapstick (woulda died without it!!!) phone and charger (I also I took my iPad), clean panties, tooth brush/paste, hair brush/clip/band. I worse sweat pants and a baggy thirst to the hospital and wore the same thing home. Until all the tubes and IV were gone I wore a hospital gown, when I got up and out i put another gown on over it to cover my posterior. Didn't want blood or stuff on my night gowns! I did have 1 pair of soft Jammie's I bummed around in the last night once all my extra parts were disconnected, would been fine without em! I don't like slippers so I wore the socks with grippers on the bottom (brought a pair but had to stay longer than elected so used the hospitals) took a book, never opened it. HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 207.4
