  1. I am so excited! I fit into the Blue Jeans from Hell comfortably today! I use to have to literally jump in these jeans just to get them buttoned. No Jumping Today! What a milestone!!!! I am so excited.

I cannot wait to get my first fill so I do not feel hungry anymore. I have broken my carb addiction, so that is a huge success!

I have a pair of capris that I am hoping to fit in by March. Keep your fingers crossed!!!! Woo Hoo!:smile2:

  2. Sorry is took so long for me to contact you back Jdog! I had a death in the family and I have been out of town.

By now you have had your surgery! I hope it went well. You do not get your first fill until after your stomach has healed. So you need to monitor your diet yourself. I have pretty much dropped bread, pasta, and rice out of my diet. I eat until I am full, and when I am hungry, but only good choices of food.

In about 2 weeks you will be able to eat mushies. I have been making my own lentil soup each week and living off it! LOL I can eat salads now, and they seem to fill me up more. I go for my fill on the 16th. At that point my portions will be controlled better, and I will not be hungry. The band tightens around the vegas nerve which sends signals to your brain to tell you you are hungry.

I Hope you are doing well! :smile2:

  3. I am finally exercising! Yeah! I have been getting at least 30 minutes of exercise today. So far I have lost 17 lbs!!! I began to worry my progress would slow down if I did not start moving, so I am mostly doing the elliptical machine each day.

I am finally use to being hungry. It does not really bother me anymore. I still cannot wait to get my first fill on the 16th! To think about eating less, and feeling full.... I cannot wait!!!!

Three weeks ago, I would not have believed how I feel right now. I was miserable, sad, and in pain. But now I realize the surgery was definitely worth it. I have more energy, and a different perspective on life! The surgery is not a complete cure; I have had to change my eating habits and philosophy about food. The fact that I have had to change my eating habits to food I do not like has helped! I do not look forward to eating anymore! HA HA HA!!!!!

Off to the gym! I hope I keep it up! I had set a goal that I would be exercising 3Xs a week by Feb. 5th. Looks like I will make that goal! Woo Hoo!

  4. The 30/30 rule is no drinking 30 minutes before or after eating. I have been slacking on this rule. I need to get it down by my first fill on Feb 16th. They do not want you to drink before because it lubricates your stomach and makes it easier for it to slip through the band, making you hungrier. The same reason for 30 minutes after, it will push the food through your stomach faster.

  5. Two weeks out from surgery tomorrow and I am feeling great! My first week of surgery, I thought I was losing it! Talk about miserable! Things got better around day 6. I ended up getting the LapBand. I was gung-ho about Realize band, but ended up with the LapBand after doing extensive research.

I am getting hungrier each day. I cannot wait until I get my first fill. February 17th will be my magical day! I have been consuming between 1100-1200 calories a day. They told me keep it under 1000, but I am too hungry if I stay that low! I am eating healthy foods, no bread, pasta or rice. I never realized how much I miss eating bread. I use to take a sandwich to work each day. Now it is soup and jello, protein shakes for mid morning and afternoon snacks.

I am walking for exercise. I will probably go back to the gym this week, but no weights. I love lifting weights, but hate cardio. Hopefully I will end up loving cardio.

I went out to dinner with all my friends for the first time last night. We went to Asahi for Michelle's birthday. I ate chicken and vegetables. Brought my own crystal lite to make something to drink. I have started the 30/30 rule, but depending on the food I am eating, I have difficulty. I need to master that before my first fill.

Overall I am doing well with my lifestyle change. I am probably not up to par as everyone else, but compared to where I was, I am doing fabulous.

I have not purchased a scale, so the only time I will be weighing myself if when I go to the doctor. My clothes are fitting looser, so that is a good sign. I need to exercise more each day.

Did not exercise today, I am getting a cold. Just taking it one day at a time!

  6. Surgery is on Monday. I have so many questions even though I have read every book, and met with several professionals. I guess I need to take it one day at a time after my surgery.

I ordered cases of Oh Yeah! to drink over the next couple of months! LOL

Tomorrow is clear liquids only in prepartion for the surgery on Monday. I am wondering how that will go. I will probably be a grouchy mess! grrrrrr :)

I am excited at the possibility of having more energy, more flexibility, more confidence, and less pain. I am so tired during the day. I have no "get up and go." I am hoping that after a month, I will sit down and read this feeling much better physically!
