  1. Mario just needs to follow the rules. If he doesn't I am afraid he is going to get booted. He is so good and why he would 2 weeks in a row break the rules is beyond me. Actually, his partner needs to reel him in a little. Joey is awesome too! and Again, Jerry Jerry Jerry! I think he will make it one more week and I would really like to see him do the Waltz. I too look so forward to watching this show. I think this is my new most favorite reality show. Have a great week!
  2. The list doesn't show me today. My date is 10/2/06. I was on the list yesterday. Is there another list floating around? Thanks.
  3. Sophie,I agree. In fact, my doctor has given us a list of what to have and milk is included when preparing cream soups, cream of wheat, protein shakes etc. In fact it should be enriched milk 1/2 non fat w/ 1/2 non fat powder milk. I too would get a second opinion.
  4. Gallbladder problems can occur even when you are not losing weight. I went to my preop last Friday and I was mixed with bypass patients and the Dr. was discussing the different meds that we have to take for 3 to 6 months and Actigall was one that was to be taken for gall bladder issues, however, when I met with him privately, he nixed that one prescription from mine. I assume that it is because even though we may lose quickly it is not as fast of a rate as bypass patients and it is less likely to be a problem. Not sure, but I assume that is why he removed that from my prescriptions. Perhaps you should mention to your doctor the Actigall and see if he would consider putting you on it. I may ask my doctor next week after my surgery. Especially after reading this. Good Luck!
  5. I too just met with the surgeon on Friday 9/22/06 for the first time. Previously it was seminars, tests and paperwork. Insurance was a breeze. There was no mention of pre op diet other than lose 10% of body weight (optional). They did however mention that if you are going to have that big last supper, to do it several days before surgery date. I plan on just eating what I like until Thursday. Saturday''s my birthday, but I figure the surgery is my gift to myself and I really don't want or need that BIIIGG Supper! Next Sunday is my prep day and I won't be eating at all. Surgery Monday 10/2. Good luck to all you bandees!!!!
  6. Ok, Come ON! JERRY JERRY JERRY!!! Luv Emmit & Joey!
  7. Hi Bandsters, I just got word today from my Dr.'s that my insurance was approved. First time out and within 1 week. They also asked if I would be willing to move my surgery date to October 2 rather than October 30. Of course I said, ABSOLUTELY! I go for my pre op tomorrow. I am so excited. I am amazed at how easy the process has been for me. I'm gonna start liquid diet on Sunday so that I can get prepared for post surgery. But, believe me, I will be having a super Chinese dinner on Saturday. Wish all you October Bandsters the best.
  8. Well all, now that October Thread has been started I can now say, my surgery is scheduled October 30. Makes it seem more real. I am awaiting final approval from insurance, however, all preop testings have been done. I have my final preop with Surgeon on October 13. I have been trying to weight watcher it since I am supposed to be down 10% by surgery date. Think I'll do the Protein liquid diet after final pre op. Good Luck to All!!!
  9. I have not had my surgery yet, however, I have fine hair and a few months ago, my hair dresser gave me Nioxin to try. I noticed that my hair is stronger at the shaft. When I told her that I was having the surgery, she advised me to continue the products. It may help!
  10. Hi, my name is Shelly and I am in the beginning stages of my journey. I have a scheduled surgery date of 10/30/06 and am awaiting approval from Blue Shield of CA. I knew that I wanted the banding done but wasn't real clear on how the fills worked and these forums have helped tremendously. I am very excited to begin this journey and look forward to "banding"with all of you. :nervous
  11. In order to receive authorization to see a surgeon for lap banding from Blue Shield, I had to provide them with 6 months of documentation that I was participating in a physicians managed weight loss program (Weight Watchers). Authorization was granted and I had my consult visit and was considered a candidate and proceeded with obtaining the various authorizations for testing to determine my eligibility. I am now waiting to hear from the insurance carrier and my surgery has been schedued for October 30. I have Type 2 diabetes, hi cholesterol, hi blood pressure and a BMI of 48.9. Obviously these are all co morbities and should qualify. Does anyone have experience with Blue Shield of California and their approval ratio?
