  1. Yeah because the Republicans are such upstanding individuals. As shown by the email I recieved this morning... Received this today. I feel better already Relax! Don't worry about your future. Quit paying your insurance premiums. Free health care is here. The doctor will see you now. doctor.bmp
  2. I just thought of something your insurance might pay for the tests even if they don't cover the surgery. Plus be sure and submit the surgery to the insurance company for reimbursement, I did on a foot surgery and they paid even though it had been denied on a pre-certification. It will help even if they pay a part. Slim chance but worth it, I think.
  3. This is what I struggle with. As Americans we are bombarded with commercial messages and it not just for us to buy a product anymore so much of it is for us to buy an idea. Now not only does Coke and McDonald's have huge advertising campaigns that run year round but other interests have less noticeable ones too. In 2007 I spent a year in radio advertising, it was such an eye opener. Everything is sold, from the joke that the DJ tells in the morning to casual banter between 2 DJ's, a lot of these are scripted, recorded and paid for to promote an idea. It all comes from advertising companies who are hired to promote their customers ideas. I believe this is where so much of the anti health care emails came from as well, if you look at the quality of the pictures (think Obama with joker makeup) they were obviously created by a professional graphic artist. There is an advertising campaign right now that promotes the idea that you should vote against your own interests and it is so transparent that most Americans don't even know its there.

  5. Hey Faith, Were glad your here! Congrats on your decision! I wish I were 6 feet tall, but my mom always says god made me not tall for a reason. :tt1: Oh well, keep us posted on your date and feel free to ask any questions, we are here to help you.
  6. I was self pay and my tests were included in my total price. I had an EKG, blood tests, pregnancy test but not too much else. ( I know you hear a lot about quitting smoking so I am not trying to lecture you on that but my Dr also insists that patients stop smoking for 2 weeks before the surgery and he gives a nicotine test before he starts the surgery as well) Good luck I hope everything goes well for you.
  7. ariscus--By the way, he (Obama) tried to give you access to the health care policy that he has (cadillac plan), the Republicans blocked that. PS Do you have a nickname we can use? I always have to cut and paste yours to make sure I spell it right.
  8. This is who I want to get my politcial information from, some guy driving a 10 year old dented up van.
  9. Patty "We’ll have more shortly." I hope you don't mean more posts on this 1 incident, 5 different posts from the same occurrence is enough. Especially since the disturbance was mostly concert goers (Rage against the machine) not political activists.
  10. Your not funny at all. Your out of line and you know it.
  11. Inminds.com Boycott Aparthied Isreael in UK not even american Boycott Israel News You should at least find Americans for your examples.
  12. Oh god I want a pic of that! Bob in purple crocs!:tt1::smile2:
  13. Yes, in your case I have elected myself the post police, I am tired of reading your berating posts with your better than thou attitude. Not just on this thread but on others. You are mean to people and I am tired of it. Lets have a vote...who else thinks Spartan was out of line in attacking Bobbie for 4 sweettarts and a little cotton candy?
  14. Caterpillar, for instance, said the new healthcare mandates would cost the company at least $100 million or more in the first year alone. Medtronic, a medical device maker, warned that new taxes on its products could force it to lay off a thousand workers. Verizon has joined those businesses sounding the alarm about serious adverse consequences. Americans DO NOT want ObamaCare! I think you meant to say "Big Corporations don't want Obamacare! I have decided to embrace the term Obamacare, I want to make sure that when it is universally loved nobody forgets who was responsible for it!
  15. Today my sister posted this on her facebook page, "You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them wh...at they could and should do for themselves."- Abraham Lincoln I'm sure you have seen this before and know it wasn't said by Abraham Lincoln, that isn't even the irritating part, OUR Mother has Parkinson's and is on Medicaid and SS disability. Hello? Is anybody home? Your own Mother is dependent on government programs!
  16. Kimaly--The provision that you are talking about was removed from the bill before reconciliation. Here are 2 articles about it. Health care reform affects largest contractors Lobbying battle over contractor healthcare to come after bill passes - TheHill.com
  17. I didn't see where the OP asked if these were bad food choices. I am pretty sure she knows what kind of food choices they were without someone pointing it out. How we chose to use our band is our choice, nobody on this site needs the food police. Bobbie, I have never heard of that! Maybe the sweetness triggered the full response? Maybe Betsy will know.
  18. I can give you my opinion but I need to ask a couple of questions first. What do you (mostly)eat now? Do you eat restaurant or fast food on a daily basis? How often do you cook? Are you a big sweet eater?
  19. Karen--Are you waiting to eat until you get hungry? Today I ate breakfast as usual about 10 am and then I got busy at work and I couldn't eat until after 2, now I have triggered the hungry monster and he will be with me the rest of the day. If I eat when I first feel the "need to eat" then I am fine but if I wait until I am HUNGRY! then I am ravenous the rest of the day, I know when I get home tonight I will either 1. overeat and still be hungry or 2. eat the right amount and be hungry the rest of the night. I was not prepared with my snacks and now I will pay for it tonight. It might just be me but it might help you, just a thought....
  20. Bob--I am with you one the yucky projectile vomit thing, that happened to me, I was going to pick up a car at the auction and they have a van that they drive you to find the car that you are there to get, so I am in this van with 5 old men having a slime/stuck thing going on and trying my best not to puke in front of them. I thought I was going to pass out. Finally we got to the car I was going to get and I opened the door and projectile vomited slime/foam in front of all of them, of course then we had to go through the whole explanation of why I was sick and I finally got them reassured that I was going to live. I could have just died of embarrassment, I think the only thing that could have made that worse was if it happened in a restaurant. My husband, Rob, just washed my motorcycle for me, its beautiful here today and I am going to take a ride when I get off work. I finally got my inspection (OK Rob went and did that too) and tags, so no excuses. I had him take a picture. Karen--I am 152, again. I would like to be less but I really don't deserve to have lost any weight last week, I barely exercised, drank wine, etc. So no gripping allowed without full effort. I hope everyone has a great weekend. :tt1:
  21. - In a small business "bonus" move, small businesses offering coverage to employees will be able to collect tax credits of as much as 50% of premium costs. So if you set up the plan as 50% employee paid and you get tax credits of 50% of premium cost the plan will be cost neutral.
  22. Does anyone know any details about this? The president emphasized that this year, some 4 million small-business owners will be able to get tax credits to help cover the cost of providing health insurance to their employees. I haven't heard any numbers, but I am assuming that if your business margin is small enough that providing health care would put you out of business, you would qualify. But I do not know specifics.
  23. I gained on mushies, once I started getting fills I started losing 2 pounds a week, now as I get closer to goal I am losing .5 to 1 a week. Everything will kick in when you start getting restriction. Be sure and only eat 1 cup of food at a time, so you will be use to it when the fills start. Good luck.
  24. I have been so involved with health care that I haven't really studied any of the gov. candidates. I need to get started.
